I like rice...just not too much.

I mean, a body kit, spoiler (not a huge aluminum wing), and exhaust will do it for me.

I like the cars that look descent on the outside (refer to the above list), but once you pop the hood its like

Well, Subaru's got to come around for you, too! We need the STi before you can get slammed by someone on Vicodin!

I have to say this: it is leagues more enjoyable than the base-level Focus I had. A new crisp gearbox, an engine that hasn't been stressed in over a month, and the first perfect-weather week (clear skies, 80F) I remember in years. It could be a llooooott worse.

Oh really? I thought the Focus SE would top the WRX in enjoyment. :D

Simply looking at a WRX is more enjoyable than driving a Focus!

Yes, current model. Doing better than my last one (2.5RS totaled by someone on painkillers), but the year is young yet. About 7 months into the previous lease on that RS there was a minor dent and some bumper friction...and gearbox trouble...followed by the early termination 5 months later. So if things go according to "plan", I should be upgraded to an STi by Christmas. :( Wonder what the cause of intoxication will be this time.

It's really weird though. I'm not a big fan of Ford, but I find the lines of the Focus hatchback to be sexy as hell...I'm so sick...

Stop...teasing...me...!

:P

:D

I got the bill (well, repair list; it cost me nothing) from Subaru yesterday. They replaced 1st gear, 2nd gear, the synchro for those gears, and a whole lot of nuts and washers. Turns out the broken synchro caused 1st & 2nd to grind and chop, which has in turn apparently caused some wear on the clutch (which they did not replace). Oh well. I guess I'll just have to save up until I can do some "proper upgrade work" on it. :)

Well, another victim of the weak Subaru gearbox. :(

I just had the clutch/flywheel replacement that has been quite the controversy at I-Club. Do you visit the I-Club at all?

I just did. Spent an hour reading there. Not exactly the sharpest knife set over there, but there is the consensus that the Subaru gearbox is not quite up to the task of anything resembling a spirited drive. I guess further evidence comes from the numerous gearbox failures in WRC. Built Honda-tough, eh?

Oh, well. The gearbox is third on my replacement list. Wheels & tires (Prodrive P1's, of course) are first, then adjustable suspension, followed by the MRT/STi gearbox. Built Nissan Skyline tough. 😈

Anyone interested in my laundry list of upgrades-to-do-someday-when-I'm-out-of-debt I'm more than willing to email it. ...and I'm open to suggestions.

Well, I've gone through several.

1) 1979 Chevy Cheyenne. My dad built it around a supercharged van engine. Smashed up the front-end on a mountain road in Tennessee.

2) 1988 Ford Winstar. Replacement to the truck. Thank god the steering column broke on day 2. Parents stopped helping me pay for cars after this.

3) 1992 Galant VR4. An AWD, Turbo beast powered by the same 4G63 engine that the 1st and 2nd gen turbo Eclipse is powere by, and the new Lancer evo - except mine had closer to 200 HP than 300.

4) Sold the Galant Feb. 2002 after getting tired of fixing minor things all of the time, and suspecting my crank was going to walk on me. Bought a 1987 MR2 - pics can be seen at www.okmoc.com.

Mods on my MR2 include: TRD Cams, Rebuilt transmission, straight pipe exhaust w/ working cat, relocated AFM and larger filter, some weight reduction, removed cruise control and resonator box. The only cosmetic mod I have is my tail pipe, which is a dual 2.5" stainless steel tip.

Explains why I'm bias to MR2s... ;)

Um, I have a bicycle. TOP SHELF bike.

It's got the 20's goin on
Industrial stength chain.
A bunch of stickers.
Steering is a little out of line, but it works sometimes.
Patched tube in front.
Removed front brakes.
Back ones too, but by accident. You'll see in a minute.
Duct tape seat.
Lots of rust.

Ok, for the brakes. There I was, doin like 60 or 70 down a hill. Ok, more like 15 or 20. I flew around a 90* corner. Uh-oh, there's a truck, no problem, I'll just use my brakes. So I clamp down on the lever, expecting a big SCREEEECH!, but instead I get a loud POP!
The brakes are now lying on the road, and I'm headed straight for the truck. BOOOOM! Next thing I know I'm layin on the road. The guy apparently left. I was sore as hell the next day.

I also had an MR2, a '95 Turbo running at 19psi.

I sold that car for $12,500, bought a 1971 Datsun 510 with no engine for $900. :D :D All of that $12,500 form my MR2 will go right back into my Datsun. Currently, my Datsun has all new fiber glass pannels, hood, front/rear bumper, boxed fenders, door skins, and trunk lid. Interior completey stripped, fiberglass dash, full roll cage, fuel cell. 300z brake upgrade, Recaro seats, with 5 point 3" harnesses. No engine yet, looking at either a SR20DET VG30DE or maybe a 13b rotary, I am a bit affraid of getting the 13b, as I dont know of any place close that could work on one if I broke it. Paint will be put off for last, gona go for the stock orange/brown color that you could get the car in. This car will be my daily driver, as with my MR2 it will have no luxaries(sp), no heater, PS, PB, a/c, no sound proofing, ect ect ect. It will be as light as I can make it, give me strength over beauty any day. ;)

'85 Olds Cutlass Supreme, BLACK, no badging. Last year for OHV Olds V8s (307ci), so I kept it. 70,000 original, Edelbrock carb & intake, Hedman hedders, 2" Dynomax's,MSD pieces, Mondello cam, Crane valvetrain,3.50(?) posi, B+M shifter & kit , Edelbrock shocks, tuned suspension, Weld mags, Eagle HPs, 1000w system. Bought 5 yrs. ago from a Nun for $700!! 24,000 orig. & all the service records!
She drives an '01 PT Cruiser.
I just got a yellow '69 Plymouth GTX w/ a beat-up 383 & 727 I'm boring it out to 440. I'm checking the VIN, it's cool to have a car as old as I am. Actually, I was born in October, so the car is a bit older.
She is thrilled to death

P.S. i finished the Cutlass 'bout 2 yrs. ago, I'm happy to say she's rock solid. I never dragged her, but she's shamed many Hondas at the stoplight and Americans, too. And I don't get bashful cutting corners either.

Well if were talking plans:

I just got a job making about $900 a week. I'm only 18, and still need a few credits to graduate (stupid parties), so I won't be until December, so I figure this job is pretty good.

I'm getting a 4AGZE motor, which in my car will pull around a 14.8 - 15.2 on an average day. Larger injectors (from a Supra, actually), new fuel maps, possibly a cheap piggy back ECU, a Nevo 175 MM pulley, relocated battery (putting it up front for better weight distribution) leading to a relocated intake, cams from the NA 4AGE, 3.0" straight pipe w/ working cat (need a little backpressure) and a little more weight reduction - probably more insulation and the AC taken out, an electric water pump to put more HP to the wheels, ST springs, Tokico Blue Coilovers, cross drilled rotors and TRD pads. Also some lightweight but cheap rims...

No bodykit, awesome stereo system, bling bling twankie rims, etc. Looks mean nothing. :)

I'll be working my ass of all summer for it... but after I'm done I'll be running a low to mid 13 quater mile in a car that has absolutely amazing handling. Plus all the fun of beating unsuspecting cars...

I ride my bicycle. It's a bike with some Type R logos and it's in yellow (which gives me more power, and better accelaration) It has 7 gears, can get me up to 10MPH, and the front brakes are from Brembo, rears from Brembo too. So far I've installed a nice red TranzX handlebar in an attempt to reduce weight and make it go faster.

 BTW I'm 14, so no cars till 18. :grumpy:
