Thank ya' much. :D

Well, even if I did, I imagine I would be slightly less stupid. I'd have seven thousand dollars less of a car to throw over a cliff. If I wanted to do dounuts I would of bought a Miata (not really powerful, but in my price range and a good autocrosser). I bought the Subaru for traction.

Right now it's still in the break-in period.... Sadly.

traction is the main reason i want a GTR (hopefully in a year or two)
i bet you cant wait to give it some poke:D

Yeah, I was infatuated with GTRs until I came back to reality and realized I was never going to own one. So why not go with the next best thing? World Rally Blue STi in a goo number of years. :D Maybe the Atessa AWD G35 would let me get a taste of the Skylines.

Subaru is evil and decided that 3,500rpms would be a good place for the turbo to really start going and tease the owner by making them shift at 4,000rpms. Oh well, 1600 more miles and I can take her out to 7k. :D

How is your Skyline?

yeah that 500rpms worth of good boost must hurt, but dont worry 1600miles should go quick, when i got my skyline i did 5000k's (roughly 3000miles in a month and a half). my skylines good i just serviced it. i am quite angry my rear tyres are quite worn, , they where new only 2 1/2 months ago and there 255R17s so there not cheap:( , this is why i want a GTR

I put the 402 miles on in a week and a half. Aaaack, man that sucks. You and Josh need to start a rear-tyre wear support group. :D

The dealer can take that emblem off. Simply request it, and they should oblige. They have absolutely no legal right to make your car a rolling advertisement.

Oh, and one more thing - as your WRX ages, keep an eye on the transmission fluid level. At some point, I suddenly lost all of mine (and no one can seem to tell me why) - and I'm out a $4,400 transmission. :(

Ouchie! Thanks, I'll keep an eye on that.

I'll go down there at some point and see what they can do. I hate to be an ass about it, and I really don't want to get buck-wild with them over something like this. Hopefully they could at least meet me half way or something.

I've talked to many WRX owners about it, and nearly everyone had theirs removed. Most of them (if not all) were just stickers though, so I don't know how much trouble they are going to give you. But, I do remember that it is not a legal right of theirs (unless it's in your sales contract).

By the way, this is an invaluable resource for Imprezas and Subarus in general: http://www.nasioc.com

Dude! AltF8! I haven't seen you posting in ages. Have I not been paying attention or did you just recently return to the Planet of GT?

Uh...I dunno. I'm here pretty much every day, I just don't usually see anything worth posting about. :)

Oh, and Goomba - take off your silencer whenever you get up the gumption to do it. It'll help your spool come a bit earlier, and it sounds much better. ;)

Yeah, that's a good point. I usually start a thread about something I care about, link to it in my signature, then post in a bunch of other threads so people see it. (:

Right now I'm just scared to do anything that could void the warranty. I know it probably wouldn't, and I could easily replace it... I bet, but I'm a chicken #!$@. Haha, I'm DenverWRX on I-Club and ClubWRX and still DenverRS on NASIOC.

I'm suprised they changed the break-in period on the '04s though. It was only 1k on my '02.

It's worth the wait though, that's for sure. The first time you wrap that tach all the way around to 7k, be ready to shift. ;) I remember the first one I test drove. I was with the wife, and she told be to give it some push to see what it'd do. Mashed the air pedal in first at about 2k. ZZzzz...I thought. The rpms slowly climbed, and then VRRRROOOOOMMMM!! Next thing I know, I'm gripping the wheel like a maniac and getting really friendly with the rev limiter.

I want my car back... :(

I've read through the manual and it said 1,000 miles. I'm using 2k just to baby it. I'll probably be a bit more leniant after that time, but still try to keep it easy.

Does it pull much harder after 4,000k?

Tire wear sucks. Especially when your tires spin so easily.;)

Car break-in periods are pointless. My car had 4 or 500 miles on it before it was modded, and dyno'ed. Since then it's seen 6500rpm pulls everyday, and now has 2700(:scared::() miles on it with zero problems.

Killabyte, the Sonic Blue '03 Cobra you've all probably seen in the videos racing the E55 AMG, or whatever, has been racing his car ever since it had 30 miles on it. It has over like 20,000 miles on it now with no problems.

I'm not sure. Reading through a Sport Compact Car, they said their WRX wasn't broken-in gently and dynoed at 10hp less than most WRXs. Not sure if something just went wrong or what, but I'm not taking my chances.

a mate of mine got a new hyundai a couple years ago and thrashed it from the get go, needed a engine rebuild with less than 10,000kms on the clock

lol, I bought a new Hyundai Accent for my second car, and I thrashed it prreeetty much from the get go. It was at 15k or so before an ATV slammed into it, bending the frame, and killing it. Otherwise it was working fine. Drove it like a 90hp race car.

you know i wish i could say i had some really kickin car like a uh GT1 or somthing but its more like a Jag an old one that needs some work it mean its good but i need to do some work

I was at a stop sign, while some guy was coming off a road that was under construction. He slammed into the front driver side of the Hyundai Accent.

i posted pics of my car a while back... but i figured it's almost done now, so might as well throw up my new pictures... this is about 95% complete now...
