I gave it one last try but couldn't improve. Unless Learner___Driver finds something I will be 4th for this comp. Fun times.

As for the unsporting behavior etc. Sure it wasn't nice what he did but it's within the rules and I commend him for being so brave to leave those submissions till the last minute. That is a skill I don't have.

yeah.. you're right but still... i bet the FR guy used takeuchi ghosts (probably others)as reference.. its a shame that the competition is over in japan already because if takeuchi had another day he would get that P1 again for sure..

It's far from being a shame. The world wide rankings are just about bragging rights and one's ego anyway  Japan's TT has absolutely nothing to do with GT Academy, let alone France's regional TT.

not a shame in the literally way.. i think you know what i mean 👍 and the competition is in a certain way related... who dont watch the world wide leader boards!?!? ;) an example is kartno38 that has no competition on his country and he's competing for the top spot

edit: Ti-Tech still improving... kartno38, please make another prediction

All I can say is that Ti-Tech is on another planet

Anyone who decides to put up their times on the last day and beats the overall WW record time by over a tenth, has a disgusting amount of talent.

It is battering...Imagine if his internet went down all of today, that'd be a complete bitch!

I'll be sat in Online Racing Chat until the deadline if anyone wants to join me. My laps are as good as they're going to get without literally pulling my hair out, so it'll just be a case of watching my times slide down into the abyss no doubt!

I just had one last run in the tuned, had my best T2 of a .085, and ruined T3, but on the next lap I was .050 off @ T2 but still improved at the line. :D

Final times from me.

1'47.768 | 1'35.721 | 3'23.489

It was fun. 👍

Pretty much everyone in the global top 20 are people that I know of somehow, either through racing them, seeing them in forums, racing against them, or simply just hearing about them... However I've never heard of this Ti-tech85 before!! So who exactly is he? I certainly wasn't expecting this last minute change in the leaderboard!

Also, I agree with Bruno, it is a bit unsportsmanlike to only publish a time at the last minute. I'm sure that if Takeuchi had known about this guys times earlier, he could have knocked up a quicker time without too much trouble. However he thought he had the #1 spot easily secured!

Much respect to him anyway though for such brilliant times!!

takeuchi's times have been getting better and better the past few days. It's not like he stopped playing. Either way, it's a competition, you don't stop til it's over.

Times are tumbling fast and its mighty close in the cut off point for UK, im suprised people leave it to the last day on purpose, it adds pressure unless there comfortably qualified already. I will have one last go later with the tuned car as im now 0.55 off the fastest lap.. got nothing to lose and only 0.175 off 2nd.

Good luck everyone on the final hours, my times on the board will be my final.

First stage was fun, even if a little straining at times. I'm very happy with my times and the only thing now is to see how far down I'll fall during the evening :D

It's really great to see so many familiar names on top of the different boards. 👍 👍 👍

anyway.. even if it isnt unsporting, its all about tactics  those times by the french guy are really amazing and not his best times for sure.. :scared:

No it's not over in Japan. Since it doesn't have a second round, it goes until february 14th.

Thing is, i think Takeuchi doesn't even know about a world leaderboard. I know he races in a TEW clan, but that's about it.

He only improved his times after a japanese player improved, had nothing to do with Dan, Lars or any other.

He cut down his time after taku improved his normal car time (1'47'562), then after taruru1216 did a 1'47'399 and only started to work on the tuned car once YAM23 beat his lap with a 1'35'400.

I'm pretty sure he will only work on his times if a japanese player threatens his position. They still have about 20 days to do it.

If Takeuchi is aware of world rankings and such, would be nice for him to say hello all:tup:

As for Ti-Tech, i've never seen his name on any GT5 Prologue leaderboard... those Lacombe brothers, they only played offline head to head right? they are also the same ones to have won a mustang in a GT4 competition, am i correct?

I ask because those are the only references i have of those UFO's.

those times by TI-Tech are amazing but his behaviour is unsporting... that takes away all the spirit of the competition (imagine if everyone do the same)... running offline hiding the times and then show up.. dirty tactic!!! whats the point!? i hope hes not trying to tell us that he just found the demo today and that was really easy to do those times... 👎

i really hope takeuchi can take 1st spot again because he is definately the best GT player and he don't deserve that 👍

100% agree 👍

I don't follow why Ti-tech85's behaviour is such a problem. If you want to win a time trial post your fastest possible time, simple as that, and when it's done surely doesn't matter? And if in the last day is not acceptable how about the last two days, three days, week...when is the acceptable cutoff? If someone really wanted to win they'd try their hardest regardless of the competition just in case something like this happened, not set a time that seems good enough and then cruise.

you said his time isnt acceptable!? who said is time is out of the rules!? i already said his times are amazing...:ouch: but for me is unsportive thats all...

Because ...? He has deadline like everyone else and he has right to post it last minute. Maybe he didn't want to post it sooner so people wasn't trying to beat his time, perhaps Lerner_driver from France didn't gave his best shot or something and maybe he would if he knew how quick is Ti-tech85. Unsportive ... I really don't get it.

From my perspective, real life drivers don't show their full speed until the last minute on qualifying day. Even in NASCAR where they practice a ton of laps, some how they magically run their fastest lap in 2 laps of qualifying.

My time will stand as it is:
1'48.080 / 1'35.962" / 3'24.042"

That gave my 2nd in New Zealand, behind GTP_Toivonen, well done Toiv' !!
Currently 256rd in the world.
The competition was immense throughout, and the top time are phenomenal. Hats off to everyone up ahead of me, and to those behind too.

Well I’ve hit my target of beating Kaz’s times although this has got to be at least the 3rd time I’ve done it as Kaz’s times have been updated a few times and literally every time I beat him he immediately set a faster time so I had to hunt him down all over again…it’s been a lot of fun though. Here are my final times:

Tuned car: 1’36.718 (UK rank 148th)
Normal car: 1’48.895 (UK rank 122nd)
Overall: 3’25.613 (UK rank 114th)

Time trial is over. Congrats to all the finalists and good luck in finals :)
