I checked it from the inside and nope too wide by like 2cms or so.. So the other is length.
There was one other idea to cut the rails on the side to make a hole for them. Maybe could try that.
Edit: Nope 42cms is too long aswell lol, this can only mean.. A new stand is needed for a G27, damn

I don't know how good you are with tools, but the 2 cm would not effect the pedals, it's just on the sides. So, if you had a sander, you could most certainly get 1 cm off of each side at the posts.
They'll fit nice and snug! You may want to invest in some wood and build a shifter mount.
OR you have some fun with it and build a entire new stand made of wood!
EDIT: Bummer! Could probably just chop the front lip off, but that's no fun...
I think building one would be a pretty fun project...

Thinking of getting a cheap wheel, one of those £28 ones just to get a feel for the difference between that and a DS3. Thinking a wheel might've made a bit of a difference for GTA2013 for me.

Buy a half nice one. DFGT minimum. Believe me, you don't want a cheap wheel from gamestop that doesn't have force feedback or is not nice.
You gotta trust me, buying one off ebay or something would be much better. There are plenty on craigslist (Or the equivalent for you guys) that have been used like twice by guys whos wives buy them xD
Just shop around. The initial investment may be more, but in the long run it will be a much better investment.

Any member circumventing the requirement of a replay from the session by attaching pictures of couches, logos, cvs file, pets, or any other file beside a rpy created by the sim from the session being protested will receive an automatic 1 Week suspension from ALL Multiplayer Sessions.

The primary intent of protest system is to discourage and if need be penalize acts of intentional or retaliatory malicious intent to negatively affect members enjoyment of the service.

Example:
The protest form requires all fields be filled in and in some cases requires an attachment. if a person is filing a protest for intentional wrecking a replay is required and you can not submit the form if there is no attachment. So what people have done to circumvent the process and requirement is attach a picture of items described in the announcement.
So for example, if you were you file a protest against someone for 6.10 Retaliatory or Intentional Wrecking, and you attach a picture of your couch and no replay file of that incident from that session. It will result in you being suspended from all multiplayer sessions.
