GTP United Sports Car Championship | Season 6 | Series Finished!Finished

Good race guys. I went wide a couple of times but I tried my best not to. Seems like my times were slower if I did. I did go wide in qualy and hit the sand pits. Good luck if you ever get stick in the middle of one of those. TCS kicks on and slows you down to an agonizing 5 mph (I think it was 5). Had to back out because it was so slow to get back on track.

Cant wait for next week! Hated Motegi at first but I've grown to love it. Plenty of opportunity to pass here.

Soon P1 will be Fiat 500s  :sly:. I really don't get the separation of the P1 classes. Wasn't there already prizes for Privateers and can't ACO just hinder the Hybrids like they did with the Diesals?
Its certainly a less than ideal situation with 530 hp LMP1 field and these sad "prototype challenge" cars that are slower than half the GT field. A Super Kart or even a really fast shifter Kart could go out there and beat those poor PC cars.
Sorry for the agressive driving in the middle of the GT pack, I was trying to pick up my pace.
You know it looked like your LSD for braking was too low, it should be atleast 40, or even max of 60 if your struggling under braking. It looked like you dived under me, hit the brakes and turned sideways. Increasing the limited slip could take care of that, your camber setting was correct though.

LMP1 is supposed to be no limits throw the check book at it, yet the ACO thinks it's better to slow them down. I will defend the PC class in that it does provide a very cost effective way to race. The IMSA PC budget is less than the IMSA GTD budget as per asking teams at the Rolex 24 this season

P1 should be no limits. I don't see what they are getting with slowing P1 down (I understand why ALMS did it in 2007/08 because Audi was just 🤬 owning everyone that Audi needed competition, even though it was from another class).

Then Audi pulled the plug, and we see how well the ALMS did in all prototype classes after that...

They need a little bump in power or drop in drag though, it wouldn't take much just a little help to make them a separate class from the GTLM. Anyways, interesting to see Nico Rosberg getting dangerously close to Vettel's Bahrain pole laps over the last couple years.... Maybe the 2014 F1 setup is more effective than expected.

If Red Bull continue to fail miserably during the season, I bet Rosberg could be champion.

That's the problem. The PC field has to be kept slower on the straights because the LMP2 cars had more power but much more d/f too. The GTD class is just as fast as the GTLM in a straight line, and both are faster than PC. Daytona is really the only place where that poses an issue because it's the only track on the schedule where 2.5 miles of a 3.5 mile course are 100% flat out

Nico may be my favorite F1 driver now. I like the mercades team as a whole. I have come around to liking the McLaren car too, it's my favorite real ant eater nose. (Excluding Williams)

But what were Caterham thinking??

Toro Rosso and Force India also stick out like a sore thumb, those just look weird.

Those are terrible. The force india looks fine from the side, but as soon as you can kinda see the nose it is horrible. The toro rosso just looks awkward.
I personally think that the Marussia car is the best looking. The Sauber car looks the best of the dong shaped cars. The vacuum cleaner shaped noses are better than any of the cars besides Marussia

All the F1 cars look 🤬 ugly. If Red Bull aren't doing well then I might start to like this season (F1 got boring in 2011).

So I wonder who this mystery championship winner is that will be doing Indy 500.... Maybe Loeb (as its been speculated) or maybe a past F1 champ, I think it would be cool to see a current young F1 driver do an Indycar race or two. Monaco obviously would make it impossible which is unfortunate, unless an F1 team decided for a fill in.

Kurt Busch?

Alright guys, I am 95% sure I will make the race this weekend, but there is a change I will not. I am currently in Auburn for a tour tomorrow and engineering day. I should be home saturday; but I think we should have a backup plan just incase I have to stay somewhere for the night.

Really we just need a backup host :P

We could try @FlyinHawaiian77 again. Or, if you're really desperate, myself.

My neck of the woods!

Well if @FlyinHawaiian77 hosts I better practice with some boost. :sly:

I've been incredibly sick from the latest cold virus that's going around here, nothing like running a fever and having it be -20 F outside to boot. :nervous: I think if had to go outside longer than a few minutes I would just drop dead.

You guys are nuts up there! I have no clue how you do it.

Obviously FH would be the go to guy (the boost should not happen again...) but if he can't a 3rd option is always good to have.
