I'm now registed to this race, but i dont have any lap registed in the Time Trial.
Is this ok?

cheers

That's not a problem.
Any driver that has not submitted a WRS TT lap will be ranked according to Division, and will start behind the drivers that did submit.

Hi Aguilar... I verified your info and added you to the 3D3 Driver database so you will show up in the next update of the registration image (in 3 minutes). 👍 I'll check the lounge accounts to make sure you are on the friends lists. Welcome and look forward to racing with you. Although my work schedule this week may not permit that tomorrow. 👎

EDIT: I accepted all the friend requests you sent to the lounges. Thank you for following all the directions to a "T". 👍 👍

Aguilar, do you have the Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI '93 on your GTP_Aguilar account?

We'll race someday anyway, i find this forum just brilliant, and i'll follow it and its events for sure.
Spectacular job everyone!

cheers

It's 1.5million credits, and should still be in the Online Car Dealer, if I'm not mistaken. If you do the Seasonal Time Trials on your GTP_ account, it will give you enough money.

Right. You can share a car from your main account to demolish the seasonal time trial and then use the credits earned to buy the car. Unfortunately you can't share a car to run online... that sure would be nice.

And not to be a negative nancy, but the Online Dealership is due a refresh somewheerein the next 12-48 hours, yes?

In summary: Buy Eet... Buy It Now! :D

Wish I could pull a sickie for this one. I hope to be around for the Saturday one, if anyone is still game. Might see if there's any interest in an Oceania test/practice slot...

A word of caution / warning for the race:
If you haven't run online laps yet it's very, VERY important for you to do so before the race(s) tomorrow.
The difference between offline and online is pretty severe, and you need a good test run to figure the car out.

Don't assume that you can make 3 full laps on any tires without trying first.
In practice today I made 3 laps on Med's, but Jerry almost didn't make it. Pekka was on Hard's but had the worst tire wear after three laps.
If in doubt - stick to RH tires 👍

The race will start on Medium's for all drivers.
After lap 1, Hard tires will be available as well.
There is no tire requirement after lap 1, and drivers do not have to use both types of tires.
OP has been udated to reflect tire choices.

I'm out for the races tomorrow guys. Good luck.

What sorts of lap times are you guys seeing?

Someone set an 8:02 - but I don't know who?

I was more in the 8:10-14 range on lap 2, add 11-12 seconds for lap 3.
I don't think I finished any lap without a spin or off track bit that cost at least 5 seconds :(

Not bad, yeah I definitely need some practice online, kept going off track at least once a lap earlier today.

I'll be practicing around 11PM EST in the 3D3 lounge if anyone's interested in joining.

I'm in there now ;-)

EDIT: We moved to my own lounge for an Oceania test. Will try the 3d3 lounge again tomorrow night.

Making my plan known now, as a way to explain why you'll see me taking it really easy on the first lap: I'm planning to pit at the end of laps 3, 5, and 7 (so, stints of 3, 2, 2, 2 = 9). In an hour of practice last night, I just could not make Marc's tune go 3 laps, unless I took it really easy on one of the laps. :ouch:

Pretty sure I'll stick to a 2-stop strategy, but racing with other drivers may kill that plan.
When in doubt, pit after 2 laps 👍

I'm in the lobby right now, but dinner is calling. After that I will run some practice laps ;)

Reminder and procedure for today's rolling start:

There is no qualifying today. Grid order is decided by WRS submissions first, and Division rankings for the drivers that did not submit a TT lap.

When the race clock is started, the cars will be placed on the Grid.
All drivers must remain in their position until the Steward instructs them to proceed.

The pole sitter will be released first, and he will park at the entrance to turn 1.
The remaining drivers will be instructed to form in a single file behind the Pole sitter.
When all drivers are lined up in their correct order the Steward will instruct the group to follow the lead car thorough Sectors 1, and 2 at a reasonable pace.
The Steward will inform the drivers to get into a close single file formation on the down hill section prior to the final section of the GP track.
The race will start once the final car clears the corner (announced by Steward), and all drivers are on the straight leading to the final chicane before the Nordschleiffe section.

Passing on the Nordschleiffe section will be tough, and all drivers will need to exercise patience and caution, making sure that any passing manouvre does not put themelves, or other drivers at risk of going off track, or causing a collision.

Race lobby is open for Pre-race practice.
Pasm, when you get back to your PS3, we will need you to exit the room, and re-enter so we can establish the proper host connection.

Also note that the reserve drivers will slot into their proper order based on qualifying or handicap if they show up. So the registration image shows the order, but will be updated just before the race start to reflect the actual participating drivers.

Note that it's looking good for my attendance in EU at least... I'm just about to change my status to confirmed, but have to get one more work task complete before I can do so.

Due to some issues, i wont be able to participate in the race today

Sorry for any inconvenience

Cheers.

No problem, but please resubmit the registration form for this event with your updated status (cancelled) so the registration image is updated as well as the starting order.

There won't be any livestream tonight guys. I apologies to anyone who's waiting on it.
I've run a total of 0 laps online and maybe 3 offline in this car so don't expect any good laps from me on this one.

Hope you get some rest and feel better soon, Speedy! I'll admit I was kind of bummed to not watch the EU race during my lunch break, so thanks a ton for the streaming you've done in the past and may do in the future! 👍

Now, let's hear about that EU race! :sly:

Bart won... congratz!

I didn't see much of the battles in the front with 6 crashes in the first lap falling to last. I was able to run 3 lap stints the entire race, but just barely and passed a few guys on track. Never could catch up to Sphinx though who was next up in the results.

Other than the first lap I did a "fair" job of driving. There was a problem with screen tearing and lag/grip for me at least intermittently throughout the race. It wasn't the majority of the time, but when close to others it was problematic. Sometimes also when I was by myself it would happen. Some of the laps on fresh tires were harder than old tires because of the varying grip levels.

Marc broke his steering wheel during the race and had to pull over on lap 9... not sure if he's in jeopardy for tonight's NA race... Hopefully he can revive it. Wonder if it was an overheating issue... it was a pretty rigorous event... good prep for the enduro actually in terms of holding the concentration over a long event (1.25 hours).

I'm going to try to make it tonight, but no baby sitter so it's going to be tricky with the kids at the start. If you see me pull over you know why.

Nice Win Bart

I'm not really sure what to make of my wheel situation TBH.
It got stuck after a wall hit and the wheel stayed turned to the right as if the car had stayed damaged :nervous:
When I pitted after lap 6 I unplugged / re-connected it, but it didn't help.
The 'Ring' takes a toll on virtual cars, and their setups too it would seem.
Surgery about to commence......

Nice win Bart and well done Wes and Mohit on the other steps of the podium.
Had a fairly eventful race myself with lots of little errors clipping the grass sending the car into a slide or into the wall. Lost a lot of time on the lead three early then settled a little bit when Pekka and Marc caught me.
Marc and I traded places several times with mistakes from the person in front and played leap frog all the way down the straight across the line and into the first hairpin to start lap 6. At this time Pekka had skipped away a few seconds from us in 4th.
Lap 6 was more settled with no passing on the Nordschliefe part until Pekka had a toilet break during his pit stop and then Marc started having trouble with his wheel leaving me all alone in 4th to the end of the race.
I had my best laps at the end with no one around me and finished 1'25 behind Bart.
Can't wait till the NA race later :D

Here are the results. Not sure I got the pit stops right, but I didn't see anyone pit out of sequence so I'm guessing.

I also assume everyone ran mediums the entire time.

Wow!
Top 3 drivers best laps were within 1.1 second!
Great driving guys 👍
