GTP WRS-Online : Event 37 : Blue Streak - May 23

Is there any interest in an attack style event on Saturday for this combo? I know GATE round 1 starts at 20:00 GMT (our normal time)... what about 21:30 this week? If you are interested reply to this thread and state your availability for 20:00 and 21:30.

The attack format this week would consist of one short quali session and two 11 lap sprints which would eliminate pits and would be fairly quick. The entire event including quali should take less than an hour so the later start time won't be too bad.

As an alternate we could also run another "run until you drop" event where you can go as long as you can make it without pitting or getting lapped on a single set of tires. Maybe to add spice incorporate heavy damage this time... you can't pit to repair so you have to limp until you get lapped or retire so need to play it safe. Sounds kind of scary, but fun.

I would be happy if Sony just didn't protect the output via HDMI so the 3rd party capture devices could connect with HDMI instead of composite. And also we have to downgrade to 720p instead of 1080p (and I know it supports 1080i, but I prefer 720p).

I know why they protect the output but it would be nice if it was a software driven flag so they could prevent you from copying a blue ray dvd with that method, but allow you to capture the full quality output of a game.

I'm going to try to make time for a good highlights video of the World Tour. Dan's video has inspired me to try it again... I'll probably kick myself when it's done just like Hydro did after investing gobs of time into that amazing animated GIF. Or I may chicken out and not do it at all.

I support you in doing this!

Look at it this way...you don't have a deadline for the production. We would enjoy it one week from now, two weeks, etc.

The more recording and producing videos, the better, I say.

Because of the GATE race today (which starts at 20:00) I think it's highly likely we're going to go with the later start time of 21:30. I talked to JTV in the lounge yesterday and he and a few guys from GATE will most likely hop over to our attack race after their race assuming the GATE race is complete by 21:30 -- which it should be barring a bunch of network issues delaying the start.

So people can plan their day I'm just going to make the call now. The new sign up sheet is below... I've copied over the percents for the 21:30 only:

Arg! I know exactly where the 11sec in the Actual Time total went (between Tim and I). I had 1 major off in each race. But had a blast on my first Attack Format event. Had battles with almost everyone, which I think I enjoy more than Tim's alone-at-the-front style races. j/k...I don't really know what those are like.
