I was running 2:15s in practice, so I'm a little disappointed in my qualifying run. Still, at least I wasn't last, and that's good enough for me. :D

I think we all had that problem (if you can call it like that) My best time in trainning was 2.15.498, during the warm up before quali, i was consistantly running 2.16. but then during quali the nerves mastered my wheel and ofcourse the fact that you know a handfull off topdrivers are watching over your shoulder :)

Nevertheless, considering i am div.5 driver i am more than happy with my quali. It will be an awsome race weekend wich we all will enjoy.

Thanks for the people who organised this 'event'. 👍

I was out of town on business all last week, so had a few days to practice and get back in the groove in general.

My best times in practice with tire wear on and same track specs were 13.5's. I ran a 14.1 on my first hotlap, but had unknowingly run wide at Pouhon. I thought I felt the car go up onto the rumble, but I felt it coming off, and I had about 2 inches of green between front and rumble, 3 inches between back and rumble. So here I am with a 16.1 :ouch:

See you guys this weekend.

We ran a mock 12 lap race last night and there were some questionable passes late in the race.:P I thought I should post some pics and see peoples opinion.

Edit: Like Tim said, to make things clear this was a fun race and we had fun at the end. Just funny pics, nothing more. None of the drivers would race like this in a real race.👍

The first pass involved an unnamed driver getting I believe 3 maybe 4 wheels off between Blanchimont and the Bus Stop. There was no contact so I'm leaning towards clean, just hard racing attempting to win. Photo Provided:

Another angle:

Yet another:

The second incident involved a similar pass attempt as the first, this time the offending unnamed driver attempted to ride on the roof of another car to make up positions. :dopey: Again, I say clean. It's the last lap and rubbin' is racing.:sly: And there is nothing in the OLR rules about roof riding.:) Photo Provided:

All in all it was a nice clean race. Warning, Do not attempt these passes in the Support Races or Official Enduro on Sunday.:sly:

Well, you are running LMP anyway right. :sly:

I hope you can make one of the support races and/or at least some practice runs in the lounge today/tonight. I don't believe I've been on track with you at all and I don't know if you've had any chance to practice running the LMP with GT cars on track. It's quite fun, but challenging and good to know where you can be surprised.

Eau Rouge is going to be really tough if you catch up to a GT car at the wrong spot... especially during those times in the race where they are getting on older tires and it might be harder to maintain the perfect line.

I expect the lounge to be quite busy today. Everyone should feel free to join and now that quali is over we can focus on 8-10 lap mini races with free run periods in between.

 That's what you get for hanging around waiting in the lounge for hours for the last qualifier when one of the stewards (not to be named) is imbibing the entire time.

 Never again!

The amazing thing is, there really was no contact on the LMP on LMP pass. It was timed perfectly. Well, there was a wall in the way, but close to perfect.:sly: The Vette on Vette hate crime, well that was a different story.:)

If it was timed perfectly there would have been contact.... lots of contact. :sly:

PS> So "new" people have context this was just a play test race. We'd never pull any stunts like that in a real event. 👍

PPS> We did get to retest the simulated driver change "pause" and it's very easy and clear. I suggest you all practice once during a practice race if you haven't already just to understand the timing. Remeber to push "start" *after* you pick your tires and added fuel amount of the stop. Also remember your personal timer doesn't start until the crew guy raises his flag to release you. Note the time at that moment and add the necessary delay required for the race (5 mins for the enduro). Admins are monitoring this thread now to answer questions so ask them now. I really don't want to get a bunch of questions with 30 seconds to go before we start the race. There are no stupid questions as long as they are asked ahead of time.

Just to be clear.

I'm not able to make any of the support races.
I've not signed up for any of them, but just in case I was expected to turn up.

It's never a bad thing to make things 110% crystal clear. 👍

See you guys Sunday! 👍

Don't worry Dennis, you're good to go and we'll see you on Sunday.

Biffy: I was about to try your gear settings..

I'm fine up to 3rd.. Then the numbers are out of reach for me..

I can't reach i.e 2235 on 4th..

What am I doing wrong?

If one of you changed the wheels on the Vette the numbers won't match exactly.

You cant change the wheels on the Vette iirc ;). Im clear on the rule btw and I will have my phone on stopwatch ready for when I enter pits for this stop so I can time it properly :). (So I wont be practising it in the short support races :sly:)

Pretty sure I didn't change the wheels, either way though I wouldn't know how to fix it, that was Pekka's gearing :P

I can't believe a steward would be so careless so close to the deadline. 👎

Personally, I was into my 3rd New Belgium Ranger IPA of the night when I smacked Scott silly.

You most likely need to move the Final all the way to the right, then the top speed all the way left, set individual gears, then change final drive without touching Top Speed.

If it is not that exactly, he would have given instructions on those first 2 moves in his post.

I can't believe a steward would be so careless so close to the deadline.

Aren't there some decent Local IPA's you could come up with? ;)

And the answer lies in the final drive.
New gear set:
Final gear 3.000 , max speed 220km/h (all the way to left)
4.716
3.421
2.750
2.235
1.900
1.650
F2.000
.

From Biffy's post:

New gear set:
Final gear to 3.000 , then max speed 220km/h (all the way to left)
4.716
3.421
2.750
2.235
1.900
1.650
Final gear to 2.000

It worked for me.. just be sure to follow the steps in order 👍

EDIT: tree'd by Speedy :(

Yeah my gearing is fine, I had no problem with that, just saying I wouldn't know how to solve Den's gearing issue as I didn't come up with those gears.

Are you sure it was only 3 because it wasn't me that you hit. I made it through the whole thing without any projectiles coming into contact with my 908.:)

You cant change the wheels on the Vette iirc ;).
If you paint them they become custom and the gear ratios won't match up with a car with unpainted wheels. Another PD quirk.

Oh yes I am. :sly:

I plan on hopping on for a while after I finish my homework tonight, around 8 EDT.

Just a query regarding the start time on sunday night, british summer time begins this weekend in the Uk which means that the clocks go forward 1hr, which also means that the BST start time will be 1hr later (9pm).

Its just to make people aware espicially the People in the UK.

Sure. Deschutes, Hales, and even Redhook are all a bit better, but this was on sale. :dopey: And fairly appropriate for the track. ;)

I'm a lightweight. :P I must've hit somebody! No? *goes to check replay*
Great pics, btw, Scott. 👍

British summer time
Thanks for letting us know. 👍 We should have known that. We'll discuss whether it should move back an hour.

Just a query regarding the start time on sunday night, british summer time begins this weekend in the Uk which means that the clocks go forward 1hr, which also means that the GMT start time will be 1hr later (9pm).
I just done the time convertor and see that if the race began at 8pm GMT that it would be 3pm EST start time.
If the race started at the original EST time of 4pm that would make it 9pm GMT time. Its just to make people aware espicially the People in the UK.

EST is already EDT (UTC -4)

With the possibility of the race starting at 9pm BST, not sure if I can actually make it now.

I know I've just realised this now too :dunce: I don't mind racing until half 11 at night, it's just I don't prefer to do it.

This stuff about time zones and DST came up in the interest checks thread a month when we were determining a time and I'd have hoped we'd have had that clear by now. See here.

If we can get unanimous decision to move this up an hour I'm fine with it myself -- the original proposed time was even earlier but the majority picked the later time -- it's pretty late for a move with 28 drivers involved.

OK, here's the deal on the time.

I'm going to give drivers 24 hours to let me know if there is a conflict for them moving it up one hour. If one driver says they can only make it at the original time then it stays. Biffy sorry, but you should have known prior to today. Here's the proposal for the new time.

Proposed Time: 19:00 GMT

San Francisco: 12:00 PM
New York: 3:00 PM
London: 8:00 PM
Amsterdam: 9:00 PM
Helsinki: 10:00 PM
