I'll get to it after I do the job I'm getting paid for. :sly:

OK, here are the preliminary lounge assignments for the enduro on Sunday:

enduro_laguna_lounge_assignments_prelim.png

Why am I not in support race B? I qualified, albeit in last spot. Please let me know.

Just submitted my GTP_qual_reg to Vaxen so hopefully, I could be racing in the near future.

Keep an eye on this thread: GTP_WRS : New Drivers and Promotions and at some point over the next couple weeks you'll see a post by Vaxen like the following with your division and handicap assignment:

New Qualifier Results:

:: Division 2 ::

Division 2 Gold (2.000 - 2.333):

GTP_BruntonPasc / BruntonPasc / UK (2.097)

:: Division 3 ::

Division 3 Gold (3.000 - 3.333):

GTP_str98 / str98 / Scotland (3.062)
GTP_GT54life247 / GT54life247 / USA (3.130)

Division 3 Bronze (3.667 - 3.999):

GTP_lapi / lapeter / Hungary (3.996)

Vaxen processed a batch only yesterday so you are at the very beginning of the cycle which can be a two week wait unfortunately.

As soon as you are assigned a division and handicap you'll be listed in the official registry and be able to register for any of our events and participate in the time trials as well.

Looking at post #4 seems to confirm I'm in Support Race B after all.
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=6925351#post6925351

All good.

Yes, the A/B split that was published earlier was for our main 2.4 hour enduro event. Your are good for the second support race and we'll publish room assignments for that race after the first support race. AT this point it looks like we'll need two lounges for that also as there are 17 guys confirmed, but we'll make the final decision later today. If anyone who confirmed "no shows" for the first event and they are registered for the 2nd they'll be dropped (or at least not considered in the decision to create two lounges).

If we create two lounges for the second support race we will split both classes in half and faster drivers go in A.

OK, off to coach a baseball game... I'll check in when I return about 45 minutes before the first race.

Note/Change: As long as we have 5 cars per class the support races today will be "official" in that the results will be included in our career wins and podium stats. If we split rooms for the 2nd race that condition is likely not to be met, but we should be good for the first race.

Status updated AGAIN!! Lol

Now I can't make support race 1, but I will definitely be there for support race 2. :)

I'm also out for the Feature race, sorry guys. :(.

I think A-Lounge is opening when Tim gets back from Baseball coaching. He said 45 mins from race start so thats 5 minutes from now.

I'm back home and will have the A lounge ready in about 10 minutes. I will be switching to NAT 1 and won't have access to this thread except on my phone which has spotty coverage so the other admins will have to deal with any last minute issues that come up.

Just come in to say I won't be able to take part in the support race as a reserve. Good luck guys 👍

Just confirmed for the second support race, will be running GT.

Sorry it was so late, but it looks like 2 rooms are needed anyhow.

Sorry, just cancelled for the first support race. I will make the second race though.

if u start support race in lounge b ill b their right at 2 no later no earlier...hold up for me? this is GT54life247

Please don't use text-speak abbreviations.

The 2nd race starts at 3pm PT / 6pm CT, with the lounge opening an hour before the race starts.

It's your first race with us, so join as early as you can.

If you're talking about the 1st race, and you're in Eastern timezone, that seems like bad form showing up for your first race with no practice/warm-up.

Any Reserves for Support Race A can join the lobby if they wish. We are in 3D3 A Lounge with space for 4 more drivers.

If you are signed up for the race get in as quick as you can, Rules & Regs start in a few minutes.

No time to run a second race, I have things to do in between.

Enjoyed what I did run until my first pit, too bad for the bug.

GT guys were generally respectful and I even had an overtake of LMP, even if it only stuck for a lap.

Hear what you are saying, Gooners, but my point still stands.

Tim made the right call and we should have followed it. Once a bug like that presents, chances of a good race are slim.

See you guys at 3.

This was a disaster. The formation laps involved the LMPs ghosting after pulling over in the pit lane. Tim said we should restart, I'm starting to wish we did because another issue arose that forced the LMPs to quit (I don't know exactly what happened). For me it wasn't worth continuing, as the challenge had gone for me and I wasn't prepared to risk it. Tim was the steward, we should've followed his idea of a restart...

Darren, it wasn't a disaster, it's just a video game and I'll reserve that word for something more important. I had a fun 12 laps and look forward to this afternoon.

Note: I could have insisted we restart and I didn't so the blame falls on me alone. Twice I hit start with the intention to exit, but didn't. Should have gone with my instinct. Ultimately, the game is the thing that screwed up and nobody is at fault... Just live and learn.

Anyway, here's what happened. The LMP cars let the GT cars pull out of the grid and we pulled over to the left beside the pit lane cones and we stopped and ghosted. The GT cars completed their initial lap and passed us. Suddenly all the LMP cars (except JTV) were being driven by AI and we were exiting pit lane. On exit it released control as normal, but some of us continued to be ghosts. That's when I called for a restart... but it cleared up before we came to the end of the lap so we decided to save a few minutes and go with it. That was ultimately my call as I could have exited the track putting away any questions. It's not gooners fault at all and I was ready to get going myself and start racing.

Anyway the start looked fine, although the LMP cars were not really in the proper stagger and I had a bit more of a gap than I should have... I slowed, but the other guys didn't seem to close ranks. We did get a clean start and the first 12 race laps were great fun. It was really good pacing the GT cars, managing the traffic and gaps and to me was even better than Spa as it required constant attention and patience. No driving at 90% really... had to drive about 75% and pick spots... real racing if you ask me and a ton of fun.

Then it came time to come in and pit. Basically all of us just got pass through penalties every time we tried. With no chance of changing tires there was no point being on track so we exited. Only JTV was able to get tire changes.

So the past is the past and I'm looking forward to this afternoon. We will learn from this and do things different.

First, the LMP cars will NOT ghost during formation at all. Stay on brakes and let the GT cars get around you to form up. If someone gets damage we have enough time for it to repair.

Second, once GT is clear the LMP cars will proceed to the straight after turn 2 (the first right hander). We'll park (not ghosted) on the right side of the road and wait for the GT field to lap us. Then we'll proceed with our formation lap.

It looks like we're going with two lounges for support race 2. Gotta get to work on figuring out the break out.

Was it just the LMP cars that had problems due to hitting start early on? Did the GT drivers have a trouble free race, including pits?

amazing race..can't wait for monday :)

What's on Monday? You are signed up for this afternoon.

Just the LMP cars and only the ones that were sucked into the pits. The entire GT field drove all the laps and had a good race. Also JTV drove LMP and didn't have an issue and completed all laps and pit stops without an issue. It was definitely caused by being sucked into pits and it won't happen for race 2 because we won't go near that spot.

I got caught up in the pit fiasco! I was stuck behind an LMP in the pits going very slow, lost alot of track position. Oh well that's racing!

Ok cool, sounds good. Silly of me to even contemplate that you guys wouldn't have everything under control ;) :D

Sorry, just cancelled for the first support race. I will make the second race though.

Wes, on the form you cancelled for both races. Are you going to make the 2nd on or not? I am working on the driver split right now and need to know.

So here is the room split. I included Wes and he'll run in room A. If he can't make it the A room has one extra so we'll just keep things the same.

enduro_laguna_support2_roomsplit.png

Hopefully Pekka (MadMax86) can host/steward room B and I'll host room A. If Pekka has an issue and can't make it can you run in room B Kevin and steward there?

The A race will take place in GTP_3D3_A and the B race in GTP_3D3_B both with mics disabled.

PS> Reserves should report to race B if they become available unless we tell you otherwise.

Had a lot of fun with the race even after swapping to lmp at the last minute :nervous: and then being the only one not to encounter pit difficulties:odd:.
I was very close to Kev until the end of the first stint and even attempted to make a pass with Blair in between us, but I ran out of road way too quick and had to tap the wall to avoid an incident
After the others dropped out of the race I was aiming to finish on the lead lap which I managed with only 5 or 6 laps to go :P and finished with rapidly dieing tires in 2nd overall and 1st(of 1) in class :D
At the start when the lmp cars got moved into the pit lane I was just far back enough the wall (part of) was still to my left. Then after I unpaused and went a couple of meters it moved me into the pits and auto drove me out. I noticed the ghosting but as each paused and unpaused the ghosting was fixed. I am hopeful the pitting difficulties was caused by the start.

One other note. You should NOT be joining the lounge after the race has started (for any event except practice). It's distracting to those driving. For this race I'd say you should not enter after 5 past the hour.

If you want to watch a race get there before it starts or for the next race I believe Speedy is streaming so that's an option.
