A quick note on registrations and the lounge splits. We're currently at 16 confirmed drivers which obviously means we'll run the enduro in a single lounge. I'm assuming that will change before the race so we'll probably have a few decisions to make at the 11th hour.

There are some ground rules we've set to help us decide how to split the grid in the event we need to:
  • Race A will have a minimum of 12 drivers
  • For a class result to be official it needs to have a minimum of 5 drivers
  • For a race result to be official it needs to have at least 6 drivers (std rule from weekly events)
If you include the current reserves, we're at a "tricky" number of drivers (21). Let's assume all reserves confirm and we end up with 21 drivers and each driver stuck to their primary class choice (9 LMP, 12 GT).

Room A: That means we'll have 12 in room and the split will be LMP 6 / GT 6 with the fastest 6 qualifiers in each class making room A. Remember you can qualify for LMP and if you don't make the top 6 you can declare for GT and give that a go.

Room B: There are 9 drivers left (3 LMP / 6 GT). Here are the options:
  • Keep mixed class: 3 LMP / 6 GT. GT results are official, LMP results are unofficial*
  • Drop mixed class: Run all in one class (by majority vote would probably mean GT)

*By unofficial we mean that a win or podium would not count toward the historical tally. We'd still publish the result, etc.

If we get to 22 drivers and we have enough of each class we can run two completely official mixed class lounges. Room A = 12 (6/6), Room B = 10 (5/5).

The trickiest situation is if there are 17 or 18 drivers. In that case we are most likely going to run one lounge of 16 based on qualifying time (8 fastest LMP / 8 fastest GT) and the 17th and 18th drivers will be on reserve. They are of course able to join the support races on Saturday and will fill in for the enduro if there are last minute cancels.

The purpose of the post is just to make everyone aware so there are no surprises. Our first option is obviously that everyone gets to run an official mixed class race in the class that they choose. However, be aware that the best case option may not be possible. There are scenarios where 1-2 drivers may go on reserve and potentially miss the enduro and there are options where room B is not a mixed class event and/or is unofficial for one or both classes.

Note: Any driver that does not confirm (e.g. stays on reserve) by 1:00 PM Pacific / 20:00 GMT on August 4th will not be included in the assignments and will lose their "qualification rights" e.g. even if they have a fast qualification time they will not be eligible for room A and will race in room B if they decide to race assuming there is space. If they decide to join it's possible a driver from room A will be shifted to room B to compensate. So if you are on the bubble on race day you'll have to be prepared to switch lounges up until 30 minutes prior to the event.

Feel free to give us your thoughts and we welcome any feedback, but ultimately the admins will publish a preliminary lounge assignment the night before the race based on the number of confirmed drivers and their qualifying times/classes. That assignment is subject to change if there are last minute cancellations (or additions).

I wont be able to confirm until the sunday unfortunatly and it would be a couple of hours before the race, I'm at an event http://www.croftcircuit.co.uk/croft/news/nostalgia.html and it all depends on the traffic to get home.

So i'll be in room B only if there is room is not a problem. I'll still run a qualifier if thats ok just to see how my time stacks up.

No problem and yes you are welcome to run the qualifier. Anyone who is on reserve should run the qualifier if there is a chance to race and by the way the qualifier also applies to the support races.

In the lounge running some laps. Took a couple tries to connect but was able to get in. This is the last chance I'll have before getting my qualy in Sunday night so I need to improve a lot before then.

I'll try and get in some laps tonight, what setup are u using for this ?

I don't have one at the moment and I'm actually switching my class to GT. I know it may make things a little more difficult for the race but I just can't get a feel for the LMP.

Praiano has a tune for the LMP, but it's set up for full power (907 hp) so it probably can only be used as a base. In particular the transmission.

CSL has one for the Oreca model, but it's tuned for the seasonals (so offline physics), 789 hp and racing soft tires. Ride height adjustments would be necessary at minimum.

****Room closed for qualifying****

Please stay out of lounge until I update this message.

UPDATE: Lounge open. Nice run Twissy!

I think I'll join you guys if you are still in the lounge as well. I've had barely any time with either car.

Here's my R8 '01 setup. It still needs some work with the gears and it's a bit harsh on rear tires. Could just be that I'm not so great with the LMP yet.

Ride height -15/-12
Springs 11.8/13.5
Extension 6/7
Compression 7/8
ARB 6/2
Camber 1.8/1.0
Toe 0.00/-0.10
LSD 7/10/10
BB 2/4

Transmission:
Final to right
Top speed to left

1st: 2661
2nd: 2149
3rd: 1627
4th: 1288
5th: 1083
6th: 0931
Final: 3650

I'm in the lounge for practise.

I've got the 6 month free deal for iRacing a couple of days ago. Adjusting to those physics and driving with the clutch but my laptop can't handle the heat. It overheates after a couple of minutes. So I'm back to GT5 until it's a bit cooler.. I'll stick to the weekly races and special events but maybe a bit less offline WRS..
Just driving laps in iRacing is more fun than driving laps in GT5 and I can actually use my Fanatec wheel and clubsport pedals! But I'm certainly not going to leave WRS for that, I just wanted to feel what it's like.:)

Glad your back Wes. Hope we don't lose you completely to iracing. :scared:

A reminder to all drivers, the LMP qualifying deadline is fast approaching and we've only had one driver make an official qualifying run. I expect Sunday to be pretty busy. :dopey:

Qualifying Deadlines

LMP Class

Remember even if you are only running the LMP class for the support race, you should make a qualifying run in the LMP as it will determine your starting position in that race as well.

We are still at 16 confirmed drivers so at this point it looks like one large grid. The registration numbers to this point, even with reserves, do not support two mixed class grids so it appears if there is a room B, it will probably be a single class race (GT).

Just setting up the room for practice. I'll be in for a bit, then back later tonight.
I really need to get ready to qualify, and a quick galnce at the quali logs tells me so does everyone else ;)

I'm in the lobby now as well.
Looks like I missed everyone though .. I'll be practicing for about an hour or so.

I just got done running the LMS.

I'm not very happy with either car as I'm off pace in both. Plus I've started to notice my brake pedal isn't functioning 100%. I think my standard pedals need some more work done to them, or need to be replaced. :indiff:

Edit: I'm more off the pace in LMP than I am in LMS.

Do u have a tune for the LMS

I did set a tune for the LMS. I'm about to get back on and run some more laps to get more confidence with the car.

I think I'm set on running the LMS if I participate in any of the races so I need to re-do my registration and remove the LMP from the one support race that has me listed as running it.

Marc is still in the lounge. I'll be away for about 2.5 hours and back again. There are many guys to qualify for LMP and we only have one more day so I guess tomorrow is going to be busy for the stewards.

Here's my LMS tune.

Aero: Max
BB: 2/4
LSD: 6/12/8

Ride Height: -10/-10
Springs: 11.5/15.5
Ext: 6/7
Comp: 7/8
ARB: 6/2
Camber: 1.8/1.2
Toe: 0.00/-0.10

Transmission: Final to right, Top speed to left.
1st: 3348
2nd: 2746
3rd: 2125
4th: 1709
5th: 1434
6th: 1245
Final: 3600

The gears are set so it's almost at redline before the braking point on the downhill, but still enough room for any slipstream speed.

Made some adjustments as the car was likely to break loose under braking or low speed acceleration.

Still evolving this one.

Here's my LMS tune.

Aero: Max
BB: 2/3
LSD: 8/14/10

Ride Height: -15/-10
Springs: 11.0/16.5
Ext: 6/6
Comp: 7/8
ARB: 6/3
Camber: 1.8/1.2
Toe: -0.10/0.05

Transmission: Final to right, Top speed to left.
1st: 3348
2nd: 2746
3rd: 2125
4th: 1709
5th: 1434
6th: 1245
Final: 3600

Shift @ 8K RPM

The gears are set so it's almost at redline before the braking point on the downhill, but still enough room for any slipstream speed.

I'm using GTPorsche's tune, but with his base i found it a bit too "knife-edged" for my liking. I made a few modifications to it, and with his permission, I'll post them. Any changes I made will be in bold:

Aero: Max
BB: 4/3
LSD: 6/5/8

Ride Height: -20/-20
Springs: 11.5/15.5
Ext: 6/7
Comp: 7/8
ARB: 6/4
Camber: 1.8/1.2
Toe: 0.00/-0.10

I didn't make any changes to the transmission.

Note: There is a 99% chance we are running a single "official" lounge for the enduro. After qualification is complete for both classes we will look at the qualifying times of all confirmed drivers and the top 8 in each class will get spots on the grid. If one class happens to be short of confirmed drivers and the other class has extra confirmed drivers we'll add an additional driver from the other class.

If there are last minute cancellations or we end up short of 16 confirmed drivers, drivers that didn't make the cut and/or reserves can fill the vacant spots. Confirmed drivers who qualified by the deadline get priority over reserves, but within each group selection for grid spots will be based on qualification time.

Any remaining drivers are welcome to set up an unofficial race in the B lounge, but there will most likely not be an official steward in that race. Any drivers put on the waiting list are welcome to race in the support races and will get priority access to those races.
