Thanks for your time Scott.

I'm out for the night.

Nice run Mohit. Are you using custom individual tranny ratios or just changing final gear from the setups above in the thread?

Can we qualify in a different car than we race in? Can I qualify in 2 different cars, in two different sessions? Fastest lap counts, but I am I fixed to the car with the quickest lap?

Need to practice....but its Tim's fault I havent cos he put up a great TT! :)

Answers are in the OP:

Unique Aspects:
  • Drivers are allowed to qualify in any car they choose and can pick a different car to race. However, every driver still only gets one shot to qualify.

I might jump in and run some laps too. No mic so I'll be mostly mute.

3'51.2 in the Jag with two infringements by running wide which cost time but render the lap invalid so won't post to practice lb

Pretty much settles it for me though to run the xj13. Wasn't sure it could do a 3'50 but convinced now.

Edit: AS was on, turned it off and did 3'51.181. What a car!

Unfortunately, I've had to switch my status to reserve for all events.

The fan on my wheel stopped functioning, the base got hot and started to smell like burnt plastic. Until I can get the fan replaced the longest I can risk using the wheel is 15-20 minutes at fairly low FFB settings.

I might attempt a quick quali over the weekend (won't be able to do much of a warm up in 10 minutes), but with a delivery estimate of 10 business days it doesn't look like it'll be ready for the support or enduro races.

Man that sucks :(

Could you pick up a replacement fan at a tech shop? I remember reading about someone cheaply upgrading their fan.

I'm also dealing with tech support right now. Trying to get the calibration issue sorted out and have to send in a video. Great wheel, just unreliable.

Custom everything, its a quali transmission. Start with moving final drive to 3700, top speed minimum, adjust first all the way left and 4th all the way right, spacing gears 2 and 3 evenly. Then move FD all the way left. Top speed in corner should show 346 kph (216 mph)

Any other options with the wheel since you're gonna get the parts after the enduro?

Kevin is sending me his old fan which was functional, but noisy... If I can install that until I get my replacement it might enable me to run.

I can run for 20 minutes without it getting too hot, but more than that and I may kill it. I'll turn FFB down and stop if it gets hot.

What a kind old soul .

In lounge for some practice.

Thats horrible Tim, the feeling of your wheel dying on you.... Is it a thrustmaster ? I got kind of tempted last weeks to buy one....

In case anybody would be intrested... me and GTP_Straffestef will do a full race (33 laps) practise. This will take place in my lounge at 02/09/2012 at 05.00 GMT. So that would be in about 8 1/2 hours. I know it is a strange time for Europeans to practise :) But Stef has then finished his night shift, and needs the practise so.... feel free to join.

If any stewards are around I'd like to run a quali while my wheel is still alive.

EDIT: Never mind, after 30 minutes my wheel is starting to heat. I'll try to qualify tomorrow. Beat my fastest lap with 3'49.490 and I lost about 0.5 on one of the sectors so a 3'48 is definitely possible if I can put all 7 seven sectors together. Good luck with that.

Had an intresting session with GTP_Straffestef. Was able to preform the shedule I had worked out :) So my strategy for next Sunday is set out. Only have to concentrate on quali now....

Ps : In an earlier practise, I ran a 17 lap race, including the 5 min break pitstop and the 24hr time settings, the end time was 1h14min... so that should bring me around 2h26-2h27min race time... ofcourse the faster drivers would be able to stay in the 2.24h window.

Thanks Jon (and Pekka) 👍

I'm quite happy with my quali time. It's a nerves breaking driving when you know it's only one shut.

If you did 17 including 5 minute stop then 33 laps should be more like

1h14m - 5 = 1h9m for 17 laps - 4m = 1h5min for 16

So 33 laps = 2h14m + 5m = 2h19min

I don't think anyone will hit 2h24min as the timer will be elapsed by that point from the winner who will finish under 2h19min

Anyone around today/tonight to watch a quali run?

You are right Tim, I calculated wrong. Did a 33 lap race today and had a total time of 2h20.

Thanks for watching Jon! Fairly pleased with that lap.

As you should be Tim, looked quite nice 👍

Currently in the lounge playing with the Jag(3'50.666) and Ford(3'49.746) with Pekka.

I noticed some people running what I thought to be odd gearing in the Jag so i've set up a transmission. Is good for 322-324kph before first chicane and won't top out in draft(338kph). I changed a bit of Praiano's tune to suit me a bit more, but don't think it's any good for a long run.
