GTP_Registry​

The OLR admin team has received many questions which account to use for the GT5 GTP_registry.

Our first thought is to stick with the GTP_PSN account.
Mainly because GTP_ before your name stands for clean,fair and honest racing.
The tag is known worldwide and has an outstanding reputation.

It is known by now that GT5 is copy protected, therefore you can not switch data between your own accounts.

However, user BobElHat tested the new gift feature out:

I'm playing GT5 on my main account rather than my GTP account too.


- Start GT5 at your GTP_account ,no installing this time, and save the game.

- Add the GTP_account to your main non GTP_account friends list.

- I fitted upgraded suspension to my OFC-1 and set maximum ride height at the front and minimum at the rear.

- Then I went into the community screen and I was able to give the car straight from my garage to my GTP account (on my friends list).

- When I logged into the GTP account and collected the gift (accept it in community screen, then take delivery from the truck icon) it arrived complete with the upgraded suspension and silly setup intact!

So, at least as far as access to cars goes using your GTP tag is no problem as it seems you can easily gift cars, complete with tuning parts and setup, between accounts.

I bought the CE and I want to add the GTP to my account. If I create a new account, and I decided to start the game from scratch? Couldnt I just redownload the cars I got from PD or do I have to gift them to my new account?

No need to gift them,your coded cars are free and will show up in any account you start GT5.

Can you accept and receive a gift car that is higher than your current A-Spec level?

Yes, you can

Where can I use my gifted and received car?

You can use it Online,in Arcade and in Practice

Using the GTP_Tag for the registry will ask certain sacrifices.

-If the GTP_account is not your main account ,you have go to some troubles to obtain cars by giving them from your main account to your GTP_PSN account.
-Trophies earned by your GTP_account do not count for your main account.

Still, the benefit of using the GTP tag far outweighs not using it.

A date when the new GT5 GTP-Registry will begin is not decided yet.
When the registry is open an qualifier will be posted.
The OLR Staff has the right to come to new conclusions if Game features are changed by DLC or new insights. ​

First we have to discover what is possible and in time we also need the help of members.

No idea if you guys have thought of this or not, but if you are planning on using a Standard model for the WRS you'll need to give advance notice, as I think that could be a stumbling block as it is pot luck whether you find it in the used car lot or not.

More than happy I only have the one account, I'd way too lazy to change anyway. Looking forward to GT5'ing it with all of you. Going to be awesome.

Yeah I'd suggest waiting about 3 months or so before we use standards but the used cars will more then likely repeat themselves like in gtpsp every 300 days or so. I wonder how much people will enter the TT competition. I saw that the record was 53 in prologue. I'd say we could double that. This is my first time in GTP proper competition. Look forward to racing with you all.

I don't know if we can post suggestions here, but I will just in case.

I'd like to see the qualifier use one of the tracks that we didn't have in GT5P

Personally I'd like to see either Trial Mountain or Deep Forest used, but that's just my preference.

I'd suggest a premium car that is neutral handling and relatively inexpensive so that it's easily available. (I'm sure that you guys have thought of this already, but just thought I'd mention it anyway)

That shouldn't be too much of a concern. All the WRS team has to do is make sure that the first few weeks implement the use of initially available tracks and cars. =D

I think the only track which isn't available initially is the Nurburgring Nord. And it doesn't take much effort to unlock.

I'm sure the combo of tracks currently available in arcade + the cars available in arcade mode will keep us busy for a very long time to give everyone enough time to gather enough $$$

Also, will you guys stick to premium cars only for WRS? The reason I ask is because these cars will be available for everyone to buy at any point in time vs potluck with standard cars in used car section...

I bought the whole PS3 only for prologue or later (now!!! ) GT5, joined GTP at the time so issue one is solved: I only have at GTP account anyhow. (But thanks to BobElHat for the info regarding gifting, you never know if it does not come in handy for whatever reason! 👍)

To the track selection:

1.) Strongly agreeing to Gobrigavitch's point: should be a non prologue track! I, too, love Suzuka (and Fuji), but man, I can't find the words to describe just how sick and tired I am of those... and I bet I'm not alone.

2.) Me being "new" to the GT scene I am not sure what tracks where in GT4, but my thought goes in the direction of taking a track in GT5 that is brand new? Is there such? Just thinking this as it would level out between noobs like me and people who have 28.000 laps experience on a track known from GT4...

3.) If there is no brand new tracks then I think the Nordschleife would be THE track of choice. Due to it's length and technicality the results would reward driving talent stronger as opposed to perfectioning a lap through repetition (Heiko painfully thinks back to the 28.000 laps on Fuji for the prologue qualifier )

Just my 2 cents. I am convinced the WRS crew will pull a great plan out of the hat, one way or the other! Bottom line is to be happy about GT5 being here!

Completely new tracks are Cape Ring (and about 5 variations), Nurburgring GP, Madrid and Rome (well, we've had Rome before, but this is a new layout).

I was very sad to find out it was a new layout, not the old track. That was my first enduro on GT3. Meh, is what it is.

Well, it's a solution. I guess it's the only way to do it.
Assuming we need to have the GTP_ tag? How necessary is the tag?
I understand the prestige and commitment to fair play it represents.
But we're talking about a lot of work arounds for it.

In that case i'll run the GTP_tag first to unlock all the cars/tracks for GTP events then race on my my other accounts afterwards (if I feel like it).

Hmmm, I really don't know what to do. I really want to keep using my main account, but I do love the whole GTP_ thing. Clean races, good people and the WRS. Ahh forget it. Once I hit my main target of 60 gold licenses I'll switch over. Currently on 29 with my DS3 but now it's getting tough. Time to buy that wheel finally I think.

All this can be done WITHOUT a GTP tag. It's an online gaming community's duty to promote good, clean, fun in as many ways as possible, which is why I asked what the "benefits" are from having a GTP tag besides the persona.

Nurburgring would force you to drive a balanced run and do your very best throughout the session in order to get a meaningful time on the board

What do you see as the drawbacks?

You're doing a fine job of complaining, but I don't see any solutions.

The tag is a sign of clean and fair racing, and clearly identifies this.

With an expected registry size of more than 1,000 members, the lack of a tag will cause confusion.

The game has been out for 2 days, but we thought it would be best to take a stance on this now, before people get too far into the game.
