Called it once again. Time to Pull out the Ol' Alfa Once more, just gotta figure out what livery I want to use this time...

From the archives untold moments in motorsport. Toyota win DTM race in Italy. :sly:

Not the most interesting week, but pretty easy races all around with a decent choice of cars. Le mans with the Hypercars is quite good, fun to see the pace difference between the cars that are good on the straights versus the ones that are good in the corners. DTM was the usual, used all my cars on the others so back to the Alfa, pretty easy win even with one of the AI 15 seconds up the road from the rest. Nice time of day for the first two races, even if they are a little short.

This weeks cars:

What a pleasant way to spend a Friday morning. Normal difficulty.

Goodwood - Honda S800 '66 - That's a fun little car. I upgraded the tires to CS. That gave it enough PP to take an easy win. First ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202412w2-r2.jpg

Road Atlanta - Chevrolet Camaro Z28 '69 - The Camaro was better here than I expected. I upgraded the tires to SS and pulled the bumpers off, but otherwise stock. That was enough for P2. That Cosworth just blasted off into the distance on the straight. I just couldn't catch it. Good enough for the second check mark.

weekly-challenge-202412w2-r3.jpg

Colorado Springs - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV GSR '96 - Some good fun in the dirt! I'm not sure the car needed it, but I added all the sports-level upgrades to get the car into the 530s PP. That made for an easy win. Second ticket obtained.

weekly-challenge-202412w2-r4.jpg

Le Mans - Lambourghini Veneno '14 - This car was a handful, especially under braking. Not a surprise, though, because it is also an absolute rocket. I upgraded the tires to SS. It took a couple aborted attempts to figure out how far back I needed to brake (hint: more than you think). Good fun. Easy win. Check mark number four completed.

weekly-challenge-202412w2-r5.jpg

Monza - Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 TI 93 - I keep picking the 155 for these races because I'm not great at tuning. It was an easy win on RM tires. I wish there were more pre-tuned racers from this era to pick from. Final ticket obtained.

Enjoyed the DTM but all in all an easy weekend. I'll make it more challenging by going down in PP.
Hypercars was too easy with the FXXK. It was over by the end of the second lap. I'll reattempt with something weaker.

As I'm getting more and more into these pre-christmas moods I skip longish race reports for this time ( races haven't been too interesting anyway ), tell you that I've finished them with the cars Nagano suggested and send you just one nice party photo :

If I do end up doing that last race for the Bonus Menu focused on the X2019 Nations Cup and proceed to start the Bonus Menu about the Evolution Meeting, I’ll likely use an Escudo-swapped Lancer Evo X - though I do admit, I don’t think I’ve actually tried driving it yet! Then for that last race featuring classic DTM racers, I’ll just go for using the Alfa Romeo 155 TI.

@RACECAR
I never realized until a couple days ago that RACECAR is a palindrome - a very very cool one I think. :)
If I had a dollar for everytime someone brought that up...well I would still be nowhere near Jeff Bezos financially but it is funny how it's happen at least around 20 times

Honestly, I was able to pull it off just with a stock Evo. AI is sorta worse on the dirt then on asphalt so it was just a matter of carrying more speed and being precise with where to get around the cars.

24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit – Hypercar Parade and Autodromo Nazionale Monza – Special Event are both good events ran them a few times each. Monza was good to run some of the EV cars that you cant race on most endurance events because their batteries go flat to get some use out of them, its also good to run some of the older race cars always a fun race and a good pay-out 225k for 12-15mins. The hypercar race is great to run some cars at full tune and high speeds.

This weekend was an "OP" at the weeklies, as usual I started from the right and wormed my way to the left in the race selections.
DTM @ Monza🔰
I think i scared the AI in the BMW to push it, push it real good...

Hypercar @ Le Mans🔰
I have tuned my Gr.3 Road Car and also found out there is an engine swap (LS7 Rampage) for this but did not install, just drove it like it was hot...

Evolutions @ the dirt🚫
I am not a big fan of dirt or driving in it....

American Cup @ Atlanta🔰
Another good use of a well tuned and used Gr.3 Road Car...

Hope you like my picks and pics....

I finished all events for this week, and earned all the rewards. The most enjoyable one for me was the Monza race.

I'm thinking of actually changing what cars I plan to use for the Hypercar Parade and the Special Event, to respectively a Bugatti Chiron and a Mercedes-Benz 190E Evo II that's been swapped. I thought it'd be very appropriate to drive a Bugatti at Le Mans, plus my Chiron in particular is almost entirely stock, barring a power limiter and ballast that I've tinkered with to get it just below 700 PP on Sport Softs. (Though I do wonder if even 600 PP would suffice...)

And while it seems likely I'll be using the Mercedes for the Special Event, I'm also thinking of taking a higher-mileage M3 (E30) Sport Evo that I haven't touched since buying, and giving it both a widebody and an engine swap, both of which would put me back just barely over 200k credits. Though on the other hand, 200k credits saved is 200k credits earned, so I may as well just go with the Mercedes - especially since I definitely recall winning that AMG GT3 engine from a ticket instead of buying it.

Finally, while I still need to do the one remaining race I have for the X2019 Nations Cup bonus menu at Sardegna A before starting the Evolution Meeting menu, I did take my Escudo-swapped Lancer Evolution X, and managed to get it down to just below 600 PP, though I was entirely unable to get it below 550. Still, it sounds fun to use, either for the Evolution Meeting, the WTC 600, or for the Race of Turbo Sportscars.

Week done, quick and painless (sorta).

1) Sunday Cup Classic @ Goodwood

A stock A112 Abarth for this race, as instructed. My mom used to have one of these a long long time ago, I was a child back then but still have fond memories of that car, especially of its sound. Anyways it was about 50pp below the suggested value but it managed to nearly snatch a victory, losing to the DS by only 0,061s. An honorable loss, I'll take it (and the 100k ticket).

2) American FR Challenge 550 @ Road America

Turns out I don't have a C3 Corvette that hasn't been swapped in the garage, and there was none available to buy in the UCD. Had to use the LT5-swapped one, and I picked the coupe since it was already widened. Had to get it under control via some Praiano help, but as expected the car was a complete overkill.

3) Evolution Meeting @ Colorado Springs - Lake

Time to finally use the rally livery on the Evo IV! Which BTW is just a stock Evo IV with dirt tires and a livery. But, more than enough to win this non clean (in every sense) race. Fun event! 200k secured.

4) Hypercar Parade @ Le Mans

This is the "sorta" mentioned in the beginning, as doing this race according to randomizer's decision meant I had to fork out 4mil to buy the Valkyrie. But after driving it for just a couple corners I can say those were the best 4M spent in this game, what a machine this is! Perfect handling, super fast, sounds amazing. The Chiron costs the same iirc and it's terrible, this is some proper racing machine that happens to have licence plates attached, superb. Possibly the best road car there is in this game, completely fell in love with it. Won by a minute BTW, on a stock Valkyrie.

5) DTM @ Monza

Went with the Alfa, it's always a car I love to drive so took the rando advice (despite being the only choice it has). 700pp Praiano setup is an overkill, I was leading by lap 3 and eventually won with a 25 seconds gap, this race seems genuinely easier than the last DTM event in Spa. Will probably try with the non-swap E30 for comparison. Obtained the 500k as well.

I converted a 2016 Porsche GT3 RS into a GT2 RS with an engine swap and various other mods that give it the same weight, hp, torque and gearing of a GT2 RS from 2016. It comes in at fraction under 700pp and is really good fun in the hypercar races.

I would love to see the settings sheet for this car please?
