One quick question - If you are starting in last place, and there are no other public racers behind you, do you have to move off the grid at all?

Sorry, just checking. :guilty:

The purpose of moving off is to avoid interfering with the other racers. If you are last in line for your lane (last and 2nd to last on the grid), you do not need to move over. 👍

Absolutely fantastic work in the preparation, organisation and inception of this event, truly impressive and you can just feel the buzz of excitement in the thread and forum.

Look forward to racing Sjaak 👍

All the best
Maz

can we talk about the lap times?

Yes, but I would prefer that discussion take place in the online events thread, etc. This area is mainly about the operation of the event itself.

There was talk about making a separate thread and time for this in the online events section. And that's still OK, if somebody wants to do that. 👍

Thanks Ron. Great to have you in here. :D

For all - I've just edited the first post and added some special instructions in regard to the green run off areas. Please follow these rules during your race. 👍

Kevin, what exactly is your thought with this..??
if i have my race and in the heat of the battle go a bit off track, and loose a bit time/speed,will the race be over??or is it simply a rule to prevent people gaining time using the runoffareas???...

👍
spyrrari.

I don't want to make this overly complicated. So, I'll add this to that area of the main post when I get a chance. But the rule will be, if you gain an advantage in position from using the runoff area, you must concede position.

Mainly, this is so a racer is not using it every time on every lap. No intent to automatically forfeit the first time you have 3 wheels off track. 👍

EDK, do we PM you if we deside to race in the "PRO" event instead of the standard one? And will there be a race offical for each race?

So if we do actually run off the track by accident, should we just let the other player overtake us? What if we're already behind?

No need to PM me with the event. If you can both agree to use pro, just run your race as outlined for div 1-3 and PM the result before the deadline.

You can have any GTP Tagged driver as a 3rd party observer, if you choose to. But it's not required, and we will not be using official stewards for these early rounds. We might for later rounds. 👍

Only need to concede if you gain a positional advantage.

And I would say, don't push it. No need to constantly be driving on the edge to gain a small advantage. This is a wide track with a car on racing tires. The rule is there in case someone decides to consistently take advantage of the game's lenient boundaries.

I'm here to answer these questions as they arise, but I expect our GTP tagged racers to be clean, respectful and fair. As long as you expect that of yourself, you'll be fine. 👍

Hi. Great job with these events EDK...Looking forward to racing with my pairing. How do we actually start the head to head race. Do we let the rest of the field past us first, then pull up to our grid position then do a countdown?...

Please carefully read the entire first post. The answers to your questions await. ;)

Read and understood. One question though. Do you only need to be PM'd the result before the 9th Feb? or do you need to know what date and time we are racing as well. Sorry if I sound like a newb..

Hey guys, anyone want a tune?

TLD M3

Anything in red is the new settings for Fuji, otherwise the other parts remain the same.;) :gtpflag:

No problem with being new. I was once, and people helped me. TBH, I'm replying from my mobile device, otherwise I would have been more specific.

To your question, unless you have an issue that I can help with, please only PM me with your result. 👍

Good Luck!
Kevin

About to go and try it, I'll leave feedback after I tried it.

how do we know the opponent isn't using the clutch? :scared:

Because generally GTP'ers don't like cheating, and you'd hope that in the spirit of the game they're not using it.:)

Thanks to al the :gtpflag: OLR admins for making this event possible. They have set it up quite nicely. Also I would like to say to all of you: racing close and fun go hand in hand, so have a blast!

Good win from Dustdriver, very close finish, a few splits after almost 20 minutes of driving

A bit of interference from other drivers, but clean driving from them at least. Very fast and respectful driving despite the competitive nature. Great race, thoroughly deserved win for DustDriver. 👍

It's a shame to go out in the first round, but racing is racing, will just have to make sure I go faster next time :mischievous:

There will be a next time right EDK ;)

Thanks for posting. 👍

I'm going to copy your post over to the main race thread as well.

And the plan would be to have a next time, yes. 👍

I have to say, this event has been very well done and congratulations to EDK which has applied very good rules to the game.

I've being working as a dog and no time at all to play it, however I'll try to dedicate my time from now to get it sorted. ;)

No excuses, right? :P

Cheers guys

True, I have never been in a M3. I just love the V8 growl. But I take nothing away from the M3. Great car!:)
