Aye, I know this, except GTP_TheCrazyOne was a late entry to the race event, and so he isn't on the list yet, my name is listed only as "Bye Week".

Sorry, my mistake.. I should've read it better. :ouch:

👍

Well, your name is first then followed on the right saying (Bye Week). I'm pretty positive that your going to start on P1. Also it wouldnt be fair if you started P2, because you entered before the deadline. 👍

TBH I think he did as well. He must have entered before the deadline, and was waiting to be approved on the GTP Registry, once approved he was green lighted to race.

Ok then, I think one of the GTP Race Admin's will comfirm who starts on P1 and P2.

You are on the left, I'll fix it on the list. 👍

EDIT: OK, fixed in here. I had corrected it in the public thread, but not in here. :ouch:

I should have checked both threads.:dunce: Thanks anyway, muchly appreciated.👍

with people trying to arrange times and dates to race would it not be a good idea to have a sticky for all registered members with times and days they mostly play on.
Example

Gtp_uk86ze
Mon-thur 1100am-1600pm 2300pm-0200am
Fri-sun 2000pm-0200am
Members only putting times on that they are 80% sure that you will meet them at that time.

It's a lot easier to do it via PM.

EDK, will you open a thread - or do a post - with Week 1 results only after all have finished? And, if so, will it be in the public area or here?

I ask this because as a very interested spectator I I keep checking both threads to see if you already started to "draw lines" (I don't know what you call that in english, sorry :dopey:) over the names of each pairing's eliminated racer (like it was made in GTP Event 01).

Btw, great job with this event! 👍

EDIT: I see it's done in this thread, never mind ... :dunce: :ouch:

I'll do a week 2 pairings thread when this week is done. It's just there's a lot of moving parts right now, and I don;t want to lose track. So I tend to take care of a lot of them at once, as opposed to updating one at a time. Most racers have provided a write up, so a lot more action is to come. 👍

Still haven't heard from my partner ZippyUK tho I sent him several PM's :ouch: hope he will respond before the deadline ...

GTP_spyrrari1 vs GTP_PrudentBear

The race was scheduled for 21.10 GMT.

21.10 DC lap 2.
21.20 DC lap 2.
21.30 mis match
21.38 mis match
21.45 DC lap 5

22.05 Actual race gets underway on GTP schedule.

I think we both knew after our 3 disconnected "warm ups" that it was going to be extremely close. We followed each other round for a few laps in close proximity exchanging passes at various points on the circuit. I had the feeling we were both running at 95% knowing that one mistake would almost certainly cost the race. I had to constantly clear my thoughts of potential last lap scenarios to concentrate on the next braking point.

We were in the groove when it all started to go a bit strange at around lap 5 or 6. We came across a member of GTPlanet who had spun and obviously hadn't grasped what was going on. He follwed us closely for a couple of laps and then almost wiped us both out at turn one. We eased up a little but then caught him once again and spent the next 2 laps trying to avoid his slipstream. By this point I had completely lost my rhythm and my mind was anywhere but where it should have been. Towards the end of lap 9 I was leading by a fraction of a second and decided to back off completely for a few seconds so that we could fight it out over one lap without interference.

I think we both knew it would come down to the last lap, probably the last corner and so it was. Spyrrari passed me across the line to start lap 10 and held the lead through turn 1. I collected my thoughts and decided that I would stay close and attempt to latch on to the tow out of the last corner. I knew this wasn't too difficult a task as I had tryed it out on previous laps. The test would be staying close enough and getting the power down cleanly under pressure.

I was perfectly positioned through the final few turns as I watched the rear of Spyrrari's black M3 slide gracefully under braking. This was it - do or die. I cut in a little earlier than I would have liked as the tension in my forearms took it's toll. I recovered the situation before the apex and was able to get on the power early as planned. Drifting wide onto the kerb I kept it nailed and as the rear left wheel slipped off the edge of the kerb the car slewed sideways. Recovering the slide the advantage suddenly seemed to be slipping away, but as I picked up the slipstream I felt all was not lost. I desperately looked ahead for the line as I bounced up and down in my seat inching ever closer. I pulled out of the tow and Spyrarri's car disappeared to my left as we crossed the line.

The result! The result?

Spyrarri won by 0.03 seconds.

Great race and as we know Spyrrari is a great racer - very cool under pressure. In the end it was almost a coin toss but one small mistake on my part decided it.

Thanks Spyrrari and best of luck in the next round.

PrudentBear over and out. :)

nice race guys... at this level its also a matter of luck... maybe next time you could have more luck Prudent ;)

Congratulations to spyrrari1 for the victory

Prudentbear,i couldn't have wrote it better myself,great job:tup:👍👍

as we allready saw in the IFTC championship,we were allways very close with our tt lap times and so i whas expecting a great and close battle and it tuned out just like this...:)

a shame it whas for the troubles we had in our race with the other member, but we understood eachother perfectly and the "back off" to get a clear track for the last lap whas very proffesionall !!!👍👍👍

i also whas thinking about the last run to the finish during the race, because for evenly matched drivers in this combo, its a winn or die situation .....as i whas in the exit of the last corner i thought:embarrassed:oohhh nnooo,he will surly rocket past me 3 feet before the finishline...:nervous:...lol.
but i guess i whas the lucky one in this race....:dopey:

great battle mate, hoping to do well in the championship...will not forget this race, thats for sure:tup:👍👍👍

spyrrari.

That sounds like an epic race consisting of two of the highest-quality racers, I wish I had seen it. Most of us could undoubtedly have learned a thing or three from you both.

Well done guys, comiserations to you Prudent, it's almost criminal that you should be out and I still in the competition, but Sjaak will probably set that right on Friday ;)

All the best
Maz

Thanks, PB, for the excellent writeup. 👍

Glad you guys enjoyed yourselves. :D

Nice Write up Prudent and congratulations to Spyrrari and everyone else who has made it through so far. Getting nervous about my race now. lol.

Nice reviews guys!

Spyrrari&Prudent: Gongrats to both of you... I would say that you both are winners there. 👍

ps. everyone... dont be afraid to ask me to record these epic races. I could easily drive behind without causing effect to your race.

great racing Prudent and Spyrrari and a excellent write up, brings you right into the race.

Congratulations to both of you, Prudent and Spyrrari. Great writeup about what was clearly an awesome race.

Unfortunately my first partner for this online event, ZippyUK, has withdrawn from the event and informed Kevin about this. Too bad for him. I guess it's a bye week for me too then :grumpy: but never mind & on to the next stage!

Just had my race with Lyvan, and i won.

I'll attempt a quick report but it won't be as good as some on here.

Lyvan started on pole and got a better start than me, but i was able to gain a bit of time back on him in the first corner. The rest of the first lap was lovely clean racing. I managed to pass lyvan just as we started lap 2 and managed to get a better first corner. I think Lyvan had a few bad corners with allowed me to pull a 3ish second gap on him by the start of the 3rd lap. I managed to squeeze out a bit more time over the next couple of laps, but then lost about half a second trying to avoid a guy drifting. He was ghosting, but wasn't sure if that was because we were lapping him or not. After that i just took it nice and calm, just trying to keep the car on track. Lyvan was gaining a bit on me in the last couple of laps, but i managed to hold on till the end.

We were in a few practice races together earlier on in the week and it was always very close between us. As lyvan said to me on psn, it will probaby come down to who makes the first mistake. Lukily It was just my night.

Also i'd like to give a big thank to to Tzayad for his superb tune.

Just finished my 10 lap expert race with GTP_paltik, and it was a good one, never more than a few second spread. It wasn't epic like some of these other races but it was still great competition, that's for certain.

I look forward to my next opponent. ;)

Special thanks to Dutch Customs for an excellent tuning setup. Loving the 5spd flavour.
