Would love to know who are pad users and who are wheel users out of the division lists.

Might have been nice to have people put that in their submissions.

Didn't expect to see the preliminary divisions so early, great work.

Most people include their input device in their signature. Also the WRS leaderboard displays what controller is being used if the Fetchbot can extract that from your signature (http://wrs.gtplanet.net/).

So I would advise all of the newcomers to add a signature like:
DS3/DFGT/G25/etc. | Division x subdivision | PAL/NTSC

div3 bronze, guess that's what you get for only running 2 or 3 passes at each one.

Will just have to work my way up to Div1 then!

I'm not sure how this was your "best effort".

Qualifier Thread
Please give it your best effort as sandbagging is highly frowned upon in the GTP OLR community. It would be greatly appreciated by all GTP Race Admin and participants if you would dedicate at least as much time to the qualifier as you would to a regular WRS event.

Do you think they're really going to check Div 4 and 5? I think if we were cheating we would've made up faster times. :)

Just as is the case with the weekly races, we will be checking times across the divisions. It would not be fair to the other racers isn the lower divisions if we didn't.

Good job getting the Divisions up nice and swiftly 👍
So Vaxen, will I just Paypal you that bribe we talked about... :sly:

Great job getting the divisions up so quickly guys!

I'm suprised I got D2 silver, my registry run in GT5P was D3 silver :)

If I look at my times in GT5P D3 silver was about OK. But on the otherhand, I think the time I submitted presented my current level :).

Big thanks to the team who run this. Great work getting the provisional results out so quickly. Congratulations to all who took part to.

This is my first time registering for the WRS and am very surprised to be D2 Silver. I tried a few of the events in lurk mode back on Prologue and wasn't close to that level. Looks like the DFGT I bought for GT5 has made a significant difference not just to my enjoyment of the game but also to my speed. Result!

Can't wait to see what the first event will be.

Rather surprised to be in D1 gold... I was hoping to make D1 silver and not be under so much pressure to produce top times every week!

Great work to get the results up so quickly 👍

Oh, and great time at the top there Nicko 👍

Division 4 Gold haha, I definitely didn’t put enough time in it but those that race with me online will know that I am capable of more. Shucks I have a lot of work to do in improving my status I hope I find the time. But thanks to the admin team.

Lol, you sandbagger :sly::dopey: But seriously you'll get there ;)

Were you using a blindfold?

I'm chuffed to bits to be in D1 Silver. Well done Admins, nice lot of info to process.

Im happy with my div 3 bronze. But i wanted to thank the people who helped putting this information up so quickly! So many names!

Congratz to all who qualified and 👍 for our race admins for the good job they all done so far :sly:

Division 1 Silver :scared: For sure I will need to put a lot of efforts each week to be at the same level

 all

Nice work on the quick turnaround!

Happy with div 4 silver. I was div 4 bronze on prologue, so about the same level. Now that I have the b-spec 24 hour races done, I can fully concentrate on the real racing.

I'd be happy to put D1 Bronze in my Sig.
Oh god, I just relased Im way up there. Wonder how long it will last :sly: :scared:

I didn't realise DHolland was M-Webber. I've been playing online races with him over headsets earlier on. :D

Wow, qualified last in d5-b. That only means that there is much potential in improving. But, at least im the best norwegian. :dopey:

Gtp_Graffen_T_L / Graffen / Norway (2.446) ;)

Gtp_Graffen_T_L / Graffen / Norway (2.446) ;)

GTP_VonJarn / VonJarn / Norway (2.075)

To be honest, there are a couple of fast Norwegians what didnt submit a time. Marchbrown, stealthwinner and Mr Volcano too. Those three would have definitely been in division one.

Do I understand correctly then that I, with a handicap of 1.847, am 0.939 (0.847+0.092) of a standard deviation for the fastest 50% of the submitted times slower than aussienicko?

Not quite. There is a multiple of the standard deviation (which will remain secret, and may change from event to event, but is close to 1) applied to each division. I can say that the division 0 multiple for the qualifier was about -0.6, so the time associated with a 0.000 par time is:
(1.000 par time) - ((top 50% std deviation) * 0.6)
There's an additional control for the Gold/Silver/Bronze curve shape, but I think I'll stop while I'm ahead and not try to explain that. :sly:

So do we need to put our details in our sig for the leaderboards to work? I'm a little confused and assumed it was just for bragging rights.

The controller portion of your details needs to be in the sig for that aspect of the leaderboard to work correctly.

The Fetchbot gets the other details from the Registry thread.

Okay that makes sense, thanks for the fast reply as always 👍

From Division 2 Silver in the WRS GT5P to Division 1 Bronze :embarrassed:

Can't wait to restart the routine. ;)

Just wanted to say, all you guys organizing the WRS, thanks a lot for what you're doing and it is very well organized too.

Crap missed the deadline thinking it was midnight pacific or more, to give time in the evening to do some more runs... what happens now?

Hey buddy! Long time no see. We will re-open the WRS qualification soon, probably about when week 1 starts give or take.

Jerome

I missed the deadline, because I didn't have time to practice Sector 3. Finally got time in the last few days. I was pleasantly surprised with the times I got. Managed to achieve my secondary goal. After hearing that sector 3 was harder than 2 I didn't expect that. I actually found it easier to do well on 3 for some reason. Maybe I'll have to go back and spend a little more time on 2.

I didn't do GT4 and hadn't really run the track before the qualifier. I am just now feeling confident in these sectors to push the car and still feel comfortable. I think I'm now putting up times which are a good indication of my driving skill. (ie not held back by lack of track knowledge)

Seeing all the regulars placed in divisions is giving me some regrets, but I'll get over it when I'm hanging out in Florida. I'll be back by the time submissions reopen and then I can join all the fun.

Are there any plans as to when Week 1 will actually kick off? And are the events going to start on Sundays, like before?

Funny, I found sector 3 to be much easier. I think it depends on your driving style and preference, I've always been a little more comfortable with the higher speed sections.

Events will still start on Sundays. There are a few factors outside of our control that I'm not going to get into, but the first race should be up by no later than February 13th.

I will be away from February 9-March 4th. I already have the time I want for Sector 3 and will likely give Sector 2 another brief stint to make sure I didn't leave to much time out there. Can I send my submissions in a PM before I leave and then they can just be kept until submissions reopen.

Nice job on getting the results up quickly Vax 👍

Congrats to everyone who put in the effort and submitted. Well done to Nicko for claiming the top step

Wow, division 1 silver. I wasn't expecting this at all. After these days of online racing it was clear I couldn't keep up with those I usually race with. I just hope I submitted the right time, lol.

Congratulations to everyone who have improved and good luck to everyone for the first WRS-week.

I see the deadline was a hard stop as I submitted my time a few hours late... got used to GT-Academy being in my time zone not GMT. Was worth a try though ;)
