Go for your limit, or at least as many hours as you would normally have time to do a WRS event in a week (i.e. 8 hours, 10 hours, etc.).
8 hours, 10 hours etc.? How about 20 mins when the wife isn't looking?!

Packing her off for the night tomorrow so going to cram in some runs until I get sucked in to the darkside of racing online with the GBRC!

Especially when the wife isn't looking, though it's not a written rule I'm sure it help us all drive better

OK, So it's fine if the driver's name is not my PSN account name?

You will need to use your GTP_account to run the qualifier with. But you don't need to be signed into the Playstation Network online. Hope that clears it up.

So how will you know if it was done on my GTP_account then? Because when I'm not signed in there is nowhere anything about my GTP_account.But when I'm signed in the driver's name is my GTP_account.

thanks
Wayne

I think on the replay save file it states the account name that the save was made under. I seem to recall seeing that on one of my saves.

Exact, your name is written on the replay saved 👍

Sorry Wayna for the GTP tag, but this GTP_Wayne is mine :sly:

I think there is some confusion here, when signed in to the PSN, the name you compete under shows as your PSN ID (in my case GTP_jimantonic) but when not signed in it shows the name you have given the 'profile' on your PS3 (in my case J.Mantonic). I think he is concerned that if you need to view his replay and see a different name on screen you may disqualify him. Although I don't know how the name will appear once the replay has been transfered.
Hope this helps sort his query.
Jim.

Thanks I understand it now,I didn't know that the account name appears in the save file. 👍

Easy fix:

Copy your game save, then delete the PS3 profile. Make a new profile with your GTP_Tag, and when prompted to make a new PSN select "use existing Playstation Network Account." Then just put in your put in your PSN and password and it will be assigned to the matching profile. Copy your save data back to the new profile and voila! 👍

Also... still looking for someone to chime in on this:

I have a question that isn't directly related to the qualifier, but the upcoming series as a whole. Tire wear and fuel consumption are now automatically enabled on both freerun and arcade time trial mode, and there doesn't seem to be a way to turn them off. Has this changed for everyone, or am I missing a setting somewhere?

Hey guys!

So I'm here racing S3 for the GTP Qualifier, and have a question that some other people could give some feedback on. The last corner. We all know the rules about 2 wheels on the track, but how should we be treating this final corner? Is it legal for me to mash the gas, get the expected understeer, but cross the line a tenth faster than if I had hit the gas a touch later, and kept the car on the racing line after I crossed the line? 'd like some feedback on this before I go further with my attempts. Feedback anyone? Mods and organizers especially.

Falango, the right before the line take as you wish, as you've said you know the rules. As Kevin has added hard standing are part of the track, the left side hard standing just before the line is part of the track.

So long as your wheels are legal before you cross the finish line, it don't matter where you end up after that.

I personaly don't, I always try to keep two wheels on the track at all times, makes me a little slower but that's how I enjoy the game.

Dude.

If something is not related to a thread then many will not reply to it, you'll find in WRS we tend to keep what you may call a tidy house, which all goes towards helping the OLR team.

Look for a more appropriate place to ask your question, I'm sure you'll get lots of replies then.

Phillip.

Thanks for the input. I've made sure that as my car crosses the line, the car is still on track according to the rules. I had one replay I saved where when I crossed the line, I was on track, but because of the amount of understeer I had from full acceleration, the car was well off track after the finish line. I just wanted some clarity on whether that was acceptable or not.

Pretty much what I asked:

On the last corner of sector three, is it a requirement to appear in control whilst crossing the line, or, can I appear wildly out of control and apparently veering off toward the barrier but, with two wheels on the track when passing the checkpoint...?

The answer fron Vaxen:

We will only enforce the track requirement while in the sector being timed. But I'd discourage anything that's even close to violation.

I believe the information on the new qualifier before Jan 28 or you are out should be on the blog, some people might miss it here, while they are still trying to get their levels up in GT5 or occupied by Seasonal events.

More input will give higher quality for the initial run?

The way I understood it the registry will be closed for submissions after the Jan 28:th deadline for a couple of weeks to sort out all entries and put people in divisions. After that it will be reopened again for submissions from people who weren't in the first batch.

Thanks for the comments guys, and taking the time to post, I will give it my best. It's a great choice for a qualifier in many ways, IMO.

Sorry but I need to make sure I get this I must submit my time between the 14th and the 28th right ?

Yes. You can start running laps now and saving replays etc, but the actual submission should be sent in to Vaxen between those two dates 👍

All the best

Please clarify; not a one lap time trial, but a individual sector trial of sector 2 & 3 (total time 2 + 3)?

And in the Special Events section? Intermediate; what exp level is that?

I believe it's level 12 for the AMG Intermediate. But you can do some of the seasonal events to quickly level up to 16 or something crazy like that. Yes, run both the sector 2 and 3 and add up your time on both.

Jerome

does anybody fancy doing some online practice on sector 2 and 3?
