Just noticed after posting a lap in leader-board that my nationality flag is wrong,
It shows this:
ir.gif
(not Irish)(appears to be Iranian)

and says IR,

Any idea how to change this, I've checked the message I originally sent to register and it said country: Ireland.

We're having a few bugs with the flags.

I've sent a message to Joost, we should have them corrected soon.

Question to the WRS Admins...

How does a loss of save data due to external factors (as in, without user control) work?

Hi guys,

I’m new here, and I’m wondering if any of you guys, now when registration is up again?

Cheers.

that's 2 of us.. i've allready sent an email to the admins a few days ago, but no answer so far... :(:ill::grumpy:

It should be early March, at the latest.

Um.. Yeah.. I don't want to be a 🤬 but the answer was literally 3 posts before your question, did you read much at all?

I noticed something interesting today. There seems to be some sort of stigma attached to being placed in a Bronze division.

I put the full list of WRS participants in Excel, along with the latest leader-board and cross referenced them, I just wanted to see how my nearest competitors were doing, to give myself a time to aim for. There didn't seem to be many people from my division (3 Bronze) who'd submitted splits and that got me wondering divisions had the highest level of participation. I expected a pretty smooth line with participation decreasing own the division, but what i got was this.

Which got me wondering why? Is it just coincidence? Or is it that being labeled 'Bronze' has sub-consciously deterred people from either posting their splits or participating at all? Is there another way of labeling the sub-divisions that would increase participation?

Obviously everyone wanted to be in as high a division as possible but did any bronze recipients wish they had been put in the gold division below them?

It may mean nothing but it got me thinking.

Cheers,

Stephen

Interesting analysis mate. Personally speaking, I'd rather be D2 Bronze than D3 Gold but I suppose it does sound less illustrious to be a Bronze qualifier than a Gold one.

It's probably because a Bronze driver would have far less chance of winning their division than a Gold or even a Silver one, so a lot of them don't bother to try. This would also explain the difference between the amount of people taken part from each division, although here, you have to take into account that a lot of the Division 1 guys are in Divsion 1 because the are totally commited racers, aswell as being fast of course.

I hadn't thought of it like that. I'm not trying to beat the guys in D3 Gold, or even D3 Silver. But then D3 Bronze is the biggest division.

Even so, I don't see why two thirds of the drivers in D1 Bronze would give up after going through the qualifier when less than 50% of D2 Gold and Silver have.

I must admit that wilco's finding is quite interesting and curious, but then I am not sure if those bronze GTPers are clear about the WRS main purpose: having fun and becoming a better driver...I was DIV 2 Gold (I will have to make the qualifier again) but then I am clear that the main purpose will be to become a way more experienced driver by a series of challenges every week...if by some reason I would got promoted to DIV 1 it would be a plus, but now my main goal.

Nice detailed graph The_Wilco, hoping after the first event or so I will move from Bronze Div.4 up to Div.3 :) It seems a few of us Div.4 drivers are doing better the majority of Div.3. Maybe perhaps it's the lack of time to compete, like myself.

Oh its sooo sad i have no to wait this 3 weeks for the submission for the qualifier. I could kick myself for the shame because i didnt had done the qualifier at the start^^

but in 3 weeks i will take my chance and now i collect all the cars in gt5 and for the training the supra '97 on arcade for the training XD

I wish all the Division pals best of luck for this time trial

I hope the next weeks didn't will be too long:)

I think this is because the most 'enthused' participants are those that love the game and love to put their effort toward bettering themselves against the highest competition. Not to say that other drivers love the game any less, but they may not completely find their and push their own limit as much, which would result in a higher division placement.

If you are concerned about the G/S/B, you are doing it wrong :P Division number is what matters most, I'd always prefer to be D1B vs. D2G.

I'm guessing the new qualifier will be on the same track, I just hope to be in a division ! any division lol

From what has been stated before, yes the qualifier will be the same.

Welcome to GTPlanet.

I imagine its more likely that bronze class drivers could be less eager to participate as they would(theoretically) be less likely to get a podium, or even feel competitive in their division.

We've all checked the leaderboard, realised we're way off the top splits, checked the best splits of our division and realising we're way off those also, decided to give that week a miss. At least I know I have.

sorry I hadn't read that, well I have set up my GTP account all I have to do is build up the levels AGAIN, but three weeks will do and give me more time to practice.

Just do one of the generous seasonal races, and you'll be level 12+ in 15 minutes.

yes will do that, the seasonal events had dropped a bit but the back the way they were now thank goodness

but can't do it now cuz I'm working nights sadly

Hi Brazz,

Welcome to the WRS

Just a few pointers for you, if you wish to add detail to one of your previous posts, and nobody has replied to your last one yet or added a post after it, just use the "EDIT" button on your last post to add more information.

Also, please use capital letters appropriately in your posts and avoid the use of "textspeak" (such as "cuz") as outlined in the AUP which you will have agreed to when you signed up to the forums 👍

I wish you a very pleasant stay in the WRS, best of luck with your qualifier run :gtpflag:

All the best
Maz

Sorry about that I'm on MY phone using predictive text but will make sure my text is spot on from now on. I been playing GT since PS1 but I will find out by my times if I'm any good but I will try my best. Well I had better get some more work done, only 3 hours to go !

Bit of a bug maybe, just got a message from the Fetchbot saying I wasn't in the Registry after my time was accepted. I just doubled checked and I'm still in the Registry List. So i'm not sure what's happening.

Will my time still be accepted? I never had this issue last week.

I had the same problem. But I send it again because I forgot the word: Time: x'xx.xxx

Now I didn't get that message. Maybe you did the same thing?

EDIT: just received another message that I'm not registered. What are we doing wrong or is it a bug?

LAST EDIT: My mistake, did it wrong I used a , instead of a .

Now it's accepted! :)
