Just want to say thank you to sjaak68, For dealing with my qualifier application so
promptly.

Welcome to the Registry, just a friendly warning mate, before a MOD comes and busts your ass. :) Double posting is frowned upon, use the edit button next time. 👍

ok, i've been proudly sportin my Div 2 tag for a while now, but i'm thinking of moving up. how might i go about redoing my time?

b

Does anyone know how long it takes for an account to be activated, because this way I can't register, and i'd really like to join
It take about 3-5 days...or maybe less:tup:

I have a question relating to the Qualifier. Does it have to be run Online or Offline or does it not matter.

It is not stated in the qualifier specs but.......
It would be best to run it online as it will, beyond any doubt, prove to be driven by you if your replay needs to be reviewed.

In the past the qualifier was always offline so as not to see other's times. If you know what times are posted it gives you a target time to beat and not necessarily your best (unguided) time.
Best approach is to put as much time into the qualifier as you would for an event. Meaning if you plan on 4 hours a week for the WRS, spend the same amount of time on the qualifier.

Good luck.

Those are the exact reasons why I thought I would ask, as there are minor problems with doing it either way. I have run a few practice laps but I intend to sit down for a few hours to do it next week. Unless I am told otherwise before then, i'll run it Online. Thanks to everyone who has tried to answer my question.

You are allowed to run the qualifier online, but are not required to do so.

We still have a requirement that all WRS qualifier times be kept strictly confidential, in order to best allow participants to run to the best of their potential, rather than over-reaching in an attempt to make that threshold time and receiver a higher placement. We used to require that all qualifier laps be run offline. However, we had too many cases of participants ending up on the leaderboard, either accidentally or on purpose. This polluted the process.

So the new procedure selects a combo known to be stacked with very high quality times (pulling from the pool of IFTC events, in this case), such that it is unlikely that anyone other than a division 1 racer would end up on the leaderboard.

Note that making the top 100 does not guarantee a division 1 placement, and failing to make the top 100 does not preclude it. When running the qualifier, set aside an amount of time similar to what you expect to be able to do weekly for the WRS events, and do the best you can within that time allotment. This will give you the best chance of being placed in a group where you will find good competition.

Note that you are still not allowed to discuss or post final time, splits, or any other information that can be used to determine final time. Failure to comply with this will result in your submission being disqualified.

We've been told that Sphinx is fine and he surely will return as soon as he sees suitable 👍
