I got most of the steps down, ready to PM my time, and ready to do a submission if need be. I will try to run some more this later today, try to see if i can improve my time for one last time...

Cant wait to see which Division i will be ;)




PS: once GT5 is released, Are we going to keep this ranking or will we have to resubmit another standard run (based on the new physics?)

Discussions about this happen in the WRS area from time to time, no doubt other times and places on this forum too.
I wouldn't worry about it ... are you not going to get GT5? :lol:
 
Of course i am gonna get GT5...

I was just wondering if we had to go through this type of qualifier again or not, then i can just skip doing this one, if i can just wait a few more months....

but Anyhow, i just submitted my times to sjaak68...

Just joined site,and i,m wondering if i,d be allowed to use the gtp tag.My lap times are as follows....

F2007..H.S.R....48.438..RANK 1.
F2007..H.S.R.REVERSE....48.697..RANK 1.
F2007..SUZUKA....1.28.426..RANK 2.
F2007..DAYTONA ROAD COURSE....1.17.809..RANK 2.
F2007...LONDON..37.528..RANK 4.

These are all in the time trial mode and laps are there for all to see in rankings.And up to now the only tracks ive had time to race,also a short explanation would be gratefully received on how to go about getting a gtp tag.many thanks.

That's a good start.... but to officially get a GTP Tag, you would have to specifically follow these steps as described here:

Having completed my entry application and submission last week, i got confirmation of my GTP Tag this morning, and have been admitted to the WRS Division 2 Bronze. :gtpflag:

Thanks.So i,ve got to drive that car and get in top 100,or cant you just look at my times in rankings as proof,its probably me getting all worried because i,ve never even bothered with a car like that:nervous:.Only ever driven the F1 car.So i was hoping you,d see my replays and that would be enough,oh well best go and get gold then.:)

Hi Brooks, welcome to the site. The reason for the replay is to ensure that the driver has done a clean lap- clean according to GTP standards. This is all explained in the thread that CTz linked. Good luck 👍

Nope, it doesnt work like that... There is no merit in what you just described.

They are looking for a certain standard, furthermore, they are looking for a well rounded player/racer...

You may be really good at something that no one is, but you still have to pass the minimum requirement. (You might already have it, but you still have to show/prove it)
Show your paws... we only believe in what we see AND that we can recognized.

I was pretty certain that you would say what you said above, "how you are only interested in Formula ones and just getting the GTP tag..."

But let your mind opened up a little, You will have more fun with the Mazda than you will ever think ;)
Good luck. It might be a bitter piece to swallow, but you just gotta do it if you want to have the GTP tag...



PS: Hint: to highlight with mouse cursor:
if it doesn't matter to you, and you want to make it easy, you can just drive slow if you want/// and be in Division 10?! No one is forcing you to be in the best Division that you can be... There is no top 100...

OK,well thanks for that,How long do i get to post a time in the mazda.And i,d just like to say i,m a very fair driver,But i,d like to pull you up on your statement that there,s no merit in being NO1.There are some great drivers in gt5 using the F2007,and i can hold my own with all of them.Anyway rules are rules so i,m gonna jump in the mazda starting tonight.

So before i finish post i,d like to start the mazda test with my new monika,GTP_tag,Would i be ok to use this until such time as i,m registered.

Will be giving the qualification run a go sometime today and submitting it

Does anyone know if there's been a decision that you must use a GTP_ account to compete in GTPlanet events once GT5 lands?

Got a bit of a dilemma personally, old account has a near full buddy list (many of whom I'd like to play GT with and yet have nothing to do with GTP), lots of trophies, switching will be an expensive operation. It's all cool with prologue as you can copy game data but it's quite unlikely you'll be able to do this in GT5, most games limit save data to the account it was created for, as somebody would just upload a massive save and everyone could use it. Maintaining two GT5 careers is no doubt out of the question.

Just wondering if anyone is aware of such a decision, I recall reading back at the start that the registry might be used for future race events. If so I'd like to get started on making the switch sooner rather than later.

Any chance you guys would be willing to reconsider this policy if the game data saves are not transferrable in GT5?

Otherwise, those of us who game elsewhere with non-GTP friends (who will play GT5) are in a hard spot. We have to either

(a) make our friends add us to their buddy list multiple times
(b) maintain multiple GT5 careers (who's got the time!),
(c) or switch accounts entirely losing trophies/saved games etc.

It also seems quite contrary to the social nature of the platform, your PSN account is across a LOT of games. There's no reason we should be required to link account names with a particular website or group, and can you imagine if every group/clan you wished to game with forced you to do this?

No doubt those who dislike this policy can just not participate, but it would be a shame to miss out on the good clean competition GTP events will no doubt bring.

Kinda wonder if there might be a "team" mechanism in game we could use as well.

Sorry for raising tough questions, just hoping the request could be taken under consideration for those of us who do a lot of non-GT5 gaming as well.

What I like about GTP is everyone is looked at equally. It dosn't matter where you get placed. There is no "special bonus" for being first or last. If you are placed in Div 1 we will congratulate you on the effort because it is by no means an easy task.

It's a fun friendly community where we congratulate everyone on the effort from Div1 - Div5

Egos do not last here as a few members have found out.

with GT5 there will be a new registry.

Hopefully GT5 will follow the course of several FPS titles and allow you to add "team/clan" whatever prefixes before your PSN name only when you are playing their game.

Seeing the large amount of team names on the time trials it wiould be a big mistake if PD did not add this feature to GT5.
 
I don't know why i've waited this long but I just submitted my qualifying time today. I can't wait to join you guys in the WRS. Hopefully will have alot of fun driving on this until GT5 finally comes out!:D

I have a small issue. See, the PSN doesn't recognize some countries yet, mine among them. So, what should I do? Create a US account and get registered in the GTP list as (US) or would that be my actual country (IL) ? Not too sure about this so please advice.

Hi,no need for a US account, (IL) is just fine.
