Please add me to the pm, if you're only talking about a new PSN and leaving the GTP id the same, Jordan won't be involved.

Unfortunately Jordan was super fast and sorted it for me before I saw your msg, he has changed my GTP id (which can be left) but if I add you to the pm could you check that he did my PSN as well, we may have got our wires crossed.
Thanks.

Sorry if I presumed incorrectly.
Some years ago I wanted to change from bigracer to steven and he helped me out.

Yes I'll get the Fetchy side fixed when I get to a computer.

Hi Guys

I have created a PSN for my younger brother and a WRS username for him , he will have username thesmallpup87 . My question is , and Im assuming this is fine but want to check in case theres something I havent thought of, is that can he also run in the TTs and submit his times, as long as of course he is using his own PSN ID and WRS registered username? I ask as we both use the same Playstation and it will be the same IP address etc, but two different people.

Thanks in advance.

Bert

That sounds fine. 👍

Hi there, I'm sorry if such a question was already asked, but I'm wondering how the overall handicap is calculated. I tried to add up each TT handicap to my initial handicap, but it doesn't match my overall handicap from the registry.
Again, sorry if it's already been answered or if it's kind of secret, just out of curiosity... ;)

Only the first three events get averaged for your initial division placement. After that it's calculated from the latest result and your handicap (where the handicap has 5 times the weight). This is to prevent one good result from affecting your handicap too much.
So if you are at 3.000 and score 2.000 you don't move up to 2.500 but only 2.833.

Thanks a lot @mr_lab_rat that's clear to me now! :)👍

EDIT: I have only one number next to my name in the official registry while other players have two, what does it mean?

The number on the left is the current handicap; the one on the right is the initial handicap.

To add to Mike's explanation, the handicap is only ever ratcheted down - bad weeks don't raise it.

Thank you @Eggstor :)👍 But speaking of left and right numbers, I have only one number (my overall handicap I guess). I think I miss my initial handicap.

Tijee31 / Tijee / France (3.121)

But that's fine, thank you guys for taking the time to explain!

The second number is left over from the old way we used to set the initial handicap. Instead of just running three events there used to be two special qualifier combos.
The new system is much better.
Your initial handicap was 3.213 so you are half way towards promotion to D2 already 👍

The initial handicap is from the original qualifier event. We dropped this qualifier event several months ago, allowing new participants to gain placement after completing 3 events.

A few things that can mess with the calculation that may make it not add up to what you think it should be:
  • events only count toward your overall handicap once they are made official
  • high handicaps are counted as if you scored exactly your current handicap for that week
  • total number of events is capped at 6 (I think), so long histories tend to be discounted
On this last point (it's a bit complicated), let me give an example: If you've run 10 events, with a handicap of 3.0, and you run your 11th event and achieve a handicap of 2.0, your new handicap would be:
  • ((3.0 * 5) + 2.0)/6 = (15.0 + 2.0) / 6 = 17.0 / 6 = 2.83
Here's your info from the database:
User: "Tijee" PSN: "Tijee31" Div: 3 Sub: G Rating: 3.120976 Events: 6 DQS: 0 VERI: 6 Country: "France"

Wow, thank you for this detailed explanation, very useful! :)👍 And thanks to the WRS team for all this tough work!

Hello everyone I've bought GT6 for some online fun, so I have a couple of questions.

How can I partecipate online races organized by GTPlanet?

I've heard you have racing divisions (am I correct?) Once I submit a valid lap time as requested here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gtp_wrs-registration-gt6-new-members-start-here.313756/
can I partecipate to some of your races or this "GTP Weekly Race Series Time Trials" is only about time trials?

Thanks in advance and sorry if I'm asking obvious things but it's still not clear.

You're on the right track.

We have both weekly races and time trials, and the time trial and race are same car and track each week. To receive a division placement you'll need to take part in at least 3 time trials. I don't believe that it's mandatory for you to do so, but it is highly encouraged and appreciated.

Keep an eye out on the time trial thread for a new combo (probably) tonight. That will be the race combo for next Saturday and the following Wednesday.

Good luck. 👍

@Vaxen

I've run 3 time trials and all three were verified, but I have yet been placed. I know Gadge was promoted, but I believe that was before my replay was verified. Just been busy?

@GTRacer22 My Division was placed after the 4th TT event I think. Your only a rookie for the first three TT if I remember correctly.

Your third time trial (last week's) is not official yet. Promotions and division placements happen when results are made official a week after they're posted.

Okay, thank you. I'm still new here.
