Morning all...Being new to this online racing lark,i've a few questions about the whatnot and wherefors of how it all comes together, well here goes...

When doing the registration, and the actual TTs/races,i'm assuming all cars must be run stock-no tuning, upgrades or tyre changes, but can I adjust the brake balance ?

Do I need to submit a replay for each event,or just post my times ?

To gain a ranking I gather I have to take part in three weekly events(i'm not too sure f this is correct)-a TT,a race and the third ?

With the weekly race,is it just one where all divisions race together,or is it split into divions/rankings ?

Thanks in advance for any replies

Welcome!

That's always explained in the OP - it's not always stock. Take a look at tires used and which parts are allowed to be adjusted or changed.
You can choose any car for your registration lap.

To get a result in the end you need to submit the lap.

It's 3 TTs you have to do - but you can take part in races once you registered here as well:

and you're listed here:

If there are enough drivers registered there'll be 2 lobbies based on Division or actual TT standings.

Have fun and Good Luck!

It had never really occurred to me just how many car and track combinations there are in this game until I had to pick a couple-its mind boggling.
Anyways, picked a car and track and off I went. After a couple of hours hard driving, shaving a tenth off here and another there I got to a time I was happy with, saved the replay ready to export it when-D'OH-i'd forgotten to set the grip level to real :banghead: Doubt i'll get close to that time again.Oh well...

Your speed in the best-lap replay that you submit for initial registration doesn't matter, and doesn't get looked at. It's only used to verify your PSN name. ;)

Some numbers on time trials 1 to 75. All data used for this is public information. This is an update of post
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...ssion-thread-gt6.294750/page-76#post-10119232

Track types

City: 13 (17%)
Original: 24 (32%)
World: 37 (49%)
Special: 1

Stock vehicles used*: 38
Average allowed power figure (time trial): 368 bhp

Submissions final

Total: 3309
Average per event: 44
Most submissions: week 1, 144 replays
Most disqualifications: week 10, five

*...
Does not mean the rest were all out tuning events. I counted all courtesy cars as stock in addition to those that would be able to enter an online event that only used "tuning prohibited" as a restriction. Count is per event, there's multi-car events.

I've noticed that the divisional handicap ratings (1.9##, 2.4## etc) have gone from the race sign-up sheets.

Is there a thread with current/live handicaps that users can have a look at?

@Gravitron, I've had a GTP_Tag PSN for awhile now but put off on having it switched in the WRS as I was a rookie. Would it be possible for you to change it for me now? Thanks. :)

call me dumb ,but cant submit reg ? something about format but i thought id done it !!!

Can someone please clear up something that's been bugging me for a while? Do positive handicaps in weekly TTs not result in an adjusted overall handicap? Is it only negative ones? I always assumed it was both and that your handicap could drop right down, even though division level wouldn't, as well as up. I only ask as my handicap is listed, in the registry thread, as still being at D2S level, despite having 2 months of almost weekly positive handicaps, which should have taken it down to D3 level? I am just curious about it as I am a tad confused, not that it takes much to confuse me these days

@nursemorph your handicap (hc) can only go down (with neg. hc results) and will not increase when you receive a positive hc result. (I don't think that has always been the policy, not sure when it changed)

Thank you for clearing that up 👍 I was just struggling to understand why my handicap was in D2S range when it should be much, much lower than that. I can understand why it is that way..given there's no demotions, it's kind of pointless keeping an accurate handicap score and it makes it a lot less time-consuming for those in charge of keeping track of things.

I'm not sure the other way would be more accurate.

If the results lowered the handicap people would be much more selective about submitting their lap and fewer people would participate each week. That in itself would skew the target handicaps for the weekly results and less data would make for less accurate handicaps.

It is possible to request a demotion if someone feels its necessary.

This is exactly what we saw happening before we made the change.

Oh, and we do track both the published handicap, as well as what the handicap would be with positive results factored in, but don't publish this other value. It gives us a good data point when considering demotion requests (which only happens about once or twice a year).

Hi everybody.
While trying to submit my registration to WRSFetchBot, my replay has a different name from the PSN ID.
While my PSN ID is k2maximiano, my replays show that my name is k2maximiano3. I wonder if someone could help me. Best regards.

The replay you sent in to Fetchy, was it ran while you are online (connected to psn) ?

The best thing to do is add @Gravitron and @PASM to the conversation you sent to wrsfetchbot and when they can they will have a look for you.

Hey all. Ive been reading through the forums and Rego processes. I'm still rather confused on how to get registered to compete online with GTP. DO I need GTP in my name on PSN? And do I need to complete the two qualifiers or is it based on 3 clean TT events now?

No need for changing your PSN name. No qualifier.
All you need is to send any best lap replay (this is just for registering your username) and after that just participate in three time trials.

And just send the best lap reply to the Fetchbot? Then these time trials are online yeah?

There is a link to instructions in the first post of this thread.
The time trials happen offline but each weekly combo also has three online races (saturdays and sundays). You don't need to do time trials to participate in those.
