Are you turning into a grumpy old man? lol (whoops)

Dammit... now look what you made me do! :grumpy:

Don't get me started on Coca-Cola... (and I don't mean drinking it)

Tried min/max ride height and it doesn't feel much different save its harder to trail brake. Can't see how that would make a 41.5 possible. :odd:

I didn't think it would work but it does, you have to drive it in the right way though, my rear camber is also only 0.2 and my gears are a bit different, other than that I'm using the tune you posted yesterday :)

Nice one 👍 Expect big gains over the next few weeks as you get used to the G27. How's your pace so far compared to DS3? Many people, myself included (back in GT4), take a backward step when first swapping to a wheel but after that its all onward and upward.

I think I might be in the part of the learning curve where I am getting as fast. (or not too slow, I have never been that fast) Anyway, I have not gone back and tried to match any of my DS3 times. Since I made a clean break, I thought I would wait a while and then go back and see how much quicker I am. I have a few WRS events I can compare too as well as a bunch of replays of practice sessions. I love the wheel though, its really reinvigorated the game for me. I know for sure I am hitting my lines much better than with the controller and much better acceleration control. Thanks for asking:)

First crack at it, have until Thursday\Friday to improve. I will be out of town after that.

I was absolutely dumbfounded, I could barely break into 1'10.9 and could not figure out what I was doing wrong. Decided to check the op again and, oh, we're using s3 tires, not s2. Gonna give em a try now.

Feeling a bit better this week so I decided to give this event a try. First splits.

Slight improvement at full power. Have had lots of better splits but can't string them into one cohesive lap:grumpy: Will keep trying.

42.136

Still not full power.

42.107

Been fiddling a bit with the tune, but not enough to post an update as yet. Mostly messing with LSD, to find the perfect balance.

Yup, correct tires do the trick.

41.924
27.094

Had a bunch under 1'09 but haven't made them stick yet.

One of these days I'll get a G27 but till then:

42.677
27.792

I'll get there. After the shameful showing in the last 2 I need a good result this week.

First go on this with Chris's tune plus revisions:

42.556
27.444

The tune works really well - only occasions when I get understeer is if I'm going too fast - it takes well to trail braking with my preferred BB of 3/7 but that's just how I like FF brakes.

I can see where I can make more time, and I'm getting more comfortable with the car, learning how to make it go faster, maximise on corners etc, and I've realised 1st gear is redundant, I'm losing time going into 1st gear on the first corner, so not shifting down as much helps me get a better exit because I'm not hitting the limiter mid-corner, then changing on exit, which seems to be losing me some revs than if I was to just stay in the gear for exit on entry and throughout the corner, it doesn't seem to struggle on exit because it's already in the power band.

Anyway, this is a fun combo, and I hope to get better by a few tenths at least

Shameful? Um, didn't you not just get promoted? No wait, it was a double promotion! What are you worrying about?

... and I've realised 1st gear is redundant, I'm losing time going into 1st gear on the first corner, so not shifting down as much helps me get a better exit because ...

We're your trying to use first gear to kick the rear out? If you were that's not gonna work much with this car or any front drive car. I use 1st for the first corner and I think it's better than second for there, I also use it to begin T2, this car has a lot of grip so no throttle control necessary just hit the apex and mash the throttle down :)

Um, no - I assumed it couldn't do that being an FF. I wanted to get better turn-in, I've found that being in the proper gear helps this much better than just being at a good speed for the corner, but it's different for this one.

That's why I was using 2nd - I could mash the throttle on exit and it felt faster.

Nice combo

Getting much better now.

42.524

Also I meant my shameful showing in the last two because I didn't break into division 4 medals last week nor the week before. After my promotion I felt it a bit undeserved. I'm back to a combo that fits me perfect :)

As I mentioned before I have dropped the DS3 and am using a wheel and pedals for the first time. This is my first WRS event with it. I have never really trail braked before (I started to work on it when I remapped DS3 brake and accelerator to R2 and L2 just before saying screw it and going to a G27). I am trying to work on it on this TT.

Question. Where is trail braking beneficial on Nurb GP/D? I am tapping at turns 2 and 4. A little more at Wursteiner curve and Coca Cola curve. Thats it.

Any advice on trail breaking in general would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks All!

I lost a tenth in the last sector, and there's a tenth in t2 as well.

Fresh off the lot for 10 laps with no tuning done. I have a special place in my heart for the MkIV GTI having driven one for 10 years. :) I love the sound this one makes in the middle RPM range. Off to apply Chris' tune and do some more laps.

Well past where I thought I'd be and I've still only done 20 laps. :odd: This will be another addictive week, I can tell already.

I've found a good setup for me now and was a tenth ahead of my ghost going into the last sector despite my G27's brake pedal glitching all the way from the 3rd corner onwards, does anyone know if you can fix this or does it need to be sent back to logitech?

This worked for me https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=247510 not sure if you are having the same problem as I did, but mine was that the brakes were going on even if I wasn't on them, a small blob of brakes would just pop on when I was on the straights and it would reck everything.

Yeah that is what was happening, I will try that when I get home, if it works then expect some new splits this evening :)
