Thanks Carlos! Like Lyvan below, I mapped the up on the d-pad to toggle the ghost, so if I'm right on it's bumper, I can turn it off quickly and not get distracted.

That's a good idea - I was on a great second lap yesterday and then my ghost appeared just as I entered the last chicane - you can guess what happened next...

I'll have to see what buttons I have left - all the DS3 buttons are replicated on my wheel, but I use the D-pad to adjust my RA menu settings.

The DFGT has RA specific buttons, so it's pretty sweet.. the only change I'll make now is setting e-brake to R2 (top of the cross bar) vs. R3 where I've got it now...it's much better than the circle button, but could be better still.

I've got this bad boy. E-brake on the circle works for me - will put toggle ghost on the L2 or something I think. Thanks for the tip.

T1: 27.379
T2: 33.497
T3: 41.178

I think I can finally understand the kind of momentum race that this is. 👍

T1: 27.359
T2: 33.055
T3: 41.332

Now that I finally cracked the 42 barrier I just have to cast off the evil 41 spirit.

I think I'm more accurate in putting down the power now w/ the Auto-trans as well as tracking the car w/ higher momentum.

E-brake on the circle works for me

I have never found a good use for the evil "E brake" in any game except for doing a victory spin as I cross the Finish Line..Good Luk w/ that though :)

Another quick run, down to 1'40.9xx, bettered my consistincy also. I found some speed by using 3rd for chicane - the trick is earlier and more aggressive throttle, but harder to pull off, and with my new technique 2nd still may do better. Hopefully Ill get a run later to try WGE's method of entry for chicane.

I'm thinking it would be a good idea to put this on the GTP news page every week again. There's only 33 on the board compared to the first few weeks of 100 and upwards. Still beats Prologue though.

It would be cool if more members would show up but as people get new games and get burned out on GT5 w/ PSN being down, it has to take its toll on our competition.

I hear ya, It looks as though the rest of the Div 5 guys have abandon me??
Does that mean i get to dance the jigg on all 3 steps of the podium this week??

I do know that Iddledoo (Craig) is having trouble getting his times up on the leader board (technical issue somewhere) but i think the admin guys are sorting it out??

Cheers All !!!

I would have thought this is the ideal time to run the WRS as no PSN is required (although I could have saved myself 4 days of levelling and just mailled myself a stock car )

I agree with akmuq - bit of promotion would do wonders. There's a significant number of registered drivers, but only 34 people posting splits this week. I guess people may have moved onto other games/consoles...

27.109 - 32.735 - 40.769 = 1'40.613 My splits wont show due to my phone having no 'enter' so to speak, so unless I get to a keyboard/computer they will continue to lie only in my posts. My best lap is 1'40:488 but smacked inside wall on right hand kink of t1 on 2nd lap. :(

:ouch:Man........find it in one section and lose it in another. I just thought I was gonna love a two lapper.

28.321
33.546
41.699
Keep hoping I'll find some talent laying around somewhere. As always you guys are awesome I find it difficult staying with my ghost.....don't know how ya'll do it sometimes.

Thats a MASSIVE improvement in T2 and T3, nice job buddy 👍

Just need to get that T1 back down again, shave a tenth here and there and before you know it you'll be vying for a D4 podium

I have no idead how it happens but it just seems that the time will fall off and stay gone.
I'm with Lefty, once you cast aside the evil spirit of the time you are trying to hit, you generally dont have a problem making that time again and look to another benchmark.
Some people seem to be able to drop their times faster than others.
I am more of a slow and steady guy myself!!! (not by choice)
Cheers All !!!

First splits worth posting. Outside world is conspiring against my GT5 time, but I snuck away for a session with this VW hottie.

Hey! I'm back!!!
Great job millross on throwing that super time out there!! 👍
It's good to see Carlos hot on the trail!!! :)
I"ll post my splits when I actually do two laps. I'm about a half-second behind you guys, just so you know.
With everything happening at Sony, I need to make some money. I'll be driving a lot this week, but I don't know how much on this combo. :sly:
Good Luck to all!!

Race On!

After two weeks of submitting rubbish I'm pleased to be able to submit this much better effort:

T1: 27.700
T2: 32.920
T3: 41.312

First corner on this lap wasn't great but I was pretty happy with everything else in this replay 👍

Wow my time is still top of D4. And I'll be back on the Ps3 for the first time since Monday tomorrow.:D I really hope I can hold on to the win. I might not be as giddy a last time though.:P

Better get crackin', ak. Less talk, more drive. 👍
I think we can both go a bit faster.

No improvement for me last night in 90 mins, doors open for you Carlos ;)

I saw 59.9s at T2 several times on rubbish T1s so I know that I am fast in T2 but I am unravelling in T1 and 3 - don't know if I can beat my best now, starting to get frustrated. Can't wait to floor it out of the 180 degree corner at the end and I'm literally driving straight at the wall half the time! :|

Running ABS 1 + BB 0/10

Edit: Cheers Chuk - look forward to seeing what splits you throw in :)

Not sure whether the door is open or waiting to hit me in the face. Plus, Chuk's in the house...

I am regularly seeing better T1 splits now, but I usually manage to bin it or get flustered looking at my ghost gaining on me later in the lap in my mirrors.

Saw a .05 and lots of .1 last night in that sector, but the rest of the lap would usually disappear.

Will try and get some laps in later

Edit:

A bit here, a bit there, better on lap one, worse on lap two, but 6 hundredths better over the two laps so I'll post the splits. Have done a bunch of laps better than my lap 2, so the goal now is to improve the consistency (fingers crossed)

T1: 27.061
T2: 32.970
T3: 40.606

Exiting the turn before the chicane, you should position yourself all the way to the left. Entering the turn you want to make as little movement as possible before braking and brake in a straight line. Ease off the brake when you're in the chicane and get on the throttle smoothly.

Useful, I'm taking a tighter line in to the first part, so I'll try the (more logical) line you're taking through there.

I don't really know how it happen but everything just fell into place tonight and it's some of the best driving I've done in years. Punching well above my weight and really loving the combo this week. I just really hope I can keep this going. Only time will tell.

T1 27.582
T2 33.056
T3 40.895
Lap 1:41.533

I'm also doing this, I'm finding it difficult to stay left as when I brake I'm going straight on, then can't make the chicane. I'm now trying a quite unorthodox method now which is working for me. Braking on the left just before the crossing, knock down from 4th -> 2nd. Point towards the chicane, accelerate in 2nd to redline (about 90k/h) before dabbing the brake and exiting. I'm seeing more consistent 40.5xx now, but really still struggling in T2.

Updated splits from tonight, awesome 1st lap but 2nd lap was a disaster though the chicane, I became too cautious and lost a HUGE amount there. Faster combined average by only 0.2, that's how bad the second lap is :ouch:

27.113
32.860
40.414

Saw a 59.5 and binned it in the chicane, for what was a 39.9xx.

*Sureboss throws G27 out of window.
