Big SHOUT to both Carlos and millross for carrying the banner high for D3! Fighting for a top ten overall! 👍 👍
Nizzy, sorry about your back. :ouch: If it helps you feel better, you are already over a half second in front of me, and we're still on the first lap! :D

27.130 32.638 40.584 - 1'40.352 So happy I could poop :) -- Much more consistent now. 7/10 ABS 3. Set 3 or 4 best 2lap times in a 30 min period. best lap is 1'40.263 but would like to find WGE magic for T3, as my best is 40.425. @sped1966 - brake balance is only adjustable with DFGT and maybe T500RS wheel I believe. I recommend my settings above, even if you cant adjust brake balance the car turns in worlds better with some more anti-lock added. :) EDIT: FYI no active steering as I said it seems to slow me down, just might come in handy as a learning tool or aid for those using thumbs
I saw 3 39.9 T3's. But I don't know how I do that either. I guess you really have to be agressive in that sector.
Nice T2.👍

Madmax, some nice splits you have there.👍
I'll try your settings.

Thanks Chuk, but I think Millross has it nailed this week, but it won't stop me trying. My second lap needs A LOT of work :yuck:

Hi guys, I just sent my submission to the registry this morning. While I wait to hear back I figured I'd try out the current challenge, here are my best splits so far;

T1: 27.332
T2: 32.901
T3: 40.727

I know it won't show up in the results until (if) I get accepted but I wanted to say hello and join in on the fun anyway. Now if only I could keep up the pace for the second lap, it always ends up slower! :)

Short but fruitful session tonight with gains on my fast and slow lap

27.376
32.735
40.474

Will give it one last try on Monday

T1: 27.142
T2: 32.903
T3: 40.910

still alot of time to make up, haven't spent much time on this one yet... prolly tomorrow as I feel like I have a shot at making my first podium..... (thought that last week too though). :-)

SPED1966 - Try 6/10 with abs at 2 or even 3 all others off. You can also try steering assist mild or strong. And if youre not already use 2nd for first corner 3rd for all others. The chicane caan be done in 2nd or 3rd, seems to be driver preference. Also as has been discussed, shift point is 6200 - 6500 rpm - NEVER later. Hope that helps.

I've gone back to 3rd for the chicane, just finding it easier both through and on the exit of the chicane.

Still trying to find two consistent laps, but saw a 39.9 earlier. Not too difficult to do a quick hot-lap, but successive hot-laps is hard, least not because you can literally ruin a lap on almost every corner!

Splits from yesterday:

27.036
32.581
40.789

My best T1 has been a .830
ABS3 brakes 3/10 , shifting up at 87/120/158 km/h - +/-2km/h
Using 3rd gear for the chicane , speed thru it 77-81 km/h

MadMax

Very nice in T2 there. I tried your settings but didn't work for me, but that could be just that I'm so used to my settings now. Thanks for sharing the shift points, that did help a bit 👍

I'm using ABS 10 , BB 0/10. I find setting the front to 0 lets me dive deeper under brakes without pushing the front as much while trail braking.

New splits:

27.062
32.774
40.587

Slower 1st lap but faster 2nd lap and improved average by 0.2
Unfortunately the second lap is still quite slow, finding it hard to get that
2nd lap consistent. It was quite annoying since I was only just behind the ghost and then got greedy at that last round about and went heaps wide. Even more annoying was I got through the chicane very well, and I'm usually very stable at that roundabout.

Looks like everybody's having fun with this combo. I just have not found the time to run this week. Maybe I can find some time before the deadline. :indiff:

Excellent question 2smokes, I had that same question before, luckily I improved my time since that run, lol. I don't think it does, but I could be wrong. If it helps your time I wouldnt submit it, if not it shouldnt matter. Or make more runs and beat your current time then you don't have to worry, just dont continue if you tag the wall before you start.

It can't possibly be a DQ if the timer hasn't begun IMHO, my best two contains a wall scrape prior to the start

Is it a DQ if you touch the wall before your lap actually starts?
EDK
[*]No Contact with walls or other objects. Any contact with walls, no matter how minor, will result in a DQ.

[*]No contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible

[*]If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty

[*]Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
I think I know the answer...

So any contact before the start of the clock is a DQ? :dunce:

If you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean, then consider it dirty
I thought the lap started when the clock started.... hummm. So the first lap is longer then a lap?

I didn't see anything in the rules about the Spool Up.

I know that there isn't any advantage w/ touching anything before the S/F line, It's just a clarity of intent that I'm wondering about.

Since the lap has NOT begun, it can't be a DQ. The replay does not count til the timer begins! rules start then too.

But what if there was a shortcut before the lap begins like at Fuji. Do you guys really think we can just take that shortcut then?

Besides that, the rules in red are for this event specific and the ones in blue are the standard OLR rules. In red it says:

It does not state that before the lap begins we can touch walls and other objects.

I would think that something blatant like that would have a special rule like your inferring by omission.

Where I live when it comes to driving on the road, and we know how many driving laws there are for driving on the road, there is a rule of law that states "If it doesn't say you can't then you can"

Inferring intent is an exercise in futility. IMO

What if we used save best lap replay and there was a shortcut? you wouldn't see it done. The speed across the line would give it away. You could hit walls prior to starting laps on all single lappers to date. Each time would be allowed since its not part of the submitted time and hence not shown in the replay. If the rules are consistent then anything you do outside your submission isn't relevant.

IMHO of course. I can't run any more laps and also can't submit if this is not the case.

Not much time for this weeks combo but here are my best splits so far. Still need to work on cleaning up T2 though, but getting 2 good fast laps strung together is proving to be a challenge for sure.

T1: 27.065
T2: 32.969
T3: 40.376

I still don't think we can do it. On high speed ring an advantage is gained by hitting the walls. The same could happen here on the madrid course if somebody would find out.

I don't know if I would submit if some are hitting the walls....

I think that anytime you alter an existing system there are changes. I like this style of competition because it brings into account the old saying "do it once it's luck, do it twice it's skill"

I need every advantage I can get and trying to clone two lapes to the closest margin of difference possible without an infraction should be the only focus.

I can empathize w/ your position and the unknowing shouldn't last to long. I think there will be a call by the powers to be soon enough.

I don't know if I would submit if some are hitting the walls....

Yo "W" there isn't any way you can hit max speed at the line by touching anything before the clock starts, your sensibilities are going to be just fine. It's OK...... :)

Out of respect to wes since he stands to record a great victory, i will not submit my time. Hopefully i can run some laps before the deadline.

You don't need to do that. Being in the WRS for some time I think Kevin would rather see nobody hitting walls. I would just wait for a word by one of the admins. I hope you can beat that time. If not please submit. That's a great time with the pad.👍

At Lefty, It's not just about gaining an advantage. WRS is supposed to be all fair and clean. I don't think hitting the walls (even if it doesn't give any advantage) is part of that.

Kicking myself for tossing a 1:30.95 out the window by following it with a horrible 2nd lap, but still making some progress with T2 & T3. Still very inconsistent in T1 though.

T1: 27.190
T2: 32.709
T4: 40.260

Let me see if I got this right, W won't submit if the inference is wrong and Mill won' t submit to honor W's position.... wow dudes. you guys crack me up

I just love both of your convictions but there is an old saying that comes to mind and I just because I can't help my self. "it's our job to cheat and it's there job to catch us" :banghead:

Thats why I got into the PS3 is because you almost can't cheat and I personaly won't but I still love splashing around in the letter of the the law.... :)

Anyone send a PM to vaxen or edk? I would suspect its not allowed simply to avoid confusion, that way theres no "it does / it doesnt help" problems. I know you cant gain from hitting the wall here - but the unavoidable question is (no offense millross) Why didn't you just restart?

Because my laps had not begun. I restart if i crash on a lap or lap(s)

Well I had been considering submitting a time with the same view you have so I cant say Im even sure. - Anyways new time should be it for me - 27.189 32.802 40.240 - 1'40.231 My best lap is 1'40.159 and in theory if I get time and work the "trifecta" I can put in about a 1'39.7xx but I doubt I'll see that magic yet -- but a div 1 podium would be swell.
