Saw a 59.5 and binned it in the chicane, for what was a 39.9xx.

*Sureboss throws G27 out of window.

So you'll be on the list of those buying wheels, perhaps a Fanatec

Problem is you do really need to attack the chicane on the last lap as well. I was the opposite and went too careful, but I also nearly took the same action. At least you know the time is there for you now. I've decided from now on I'm binning it on the last lap if I have to. All or nothing, is my motto for this event now, otherwise the 2nd lap would always be far off the 1st one.

It does give you an appreciation though of real race drivers how they can lap within a couple of hundredths of their time consistently in a race. We're sturggling to do it twice :banghead:

You have to attack the chicane, if you don't you'll lose massive time. It's both good and annoying though.

How are people enjoying the "new" track?

I've done some good races here (but on the reverse layout, which I think is better for overtaking), as a TT, I think it's quite good, some very technical corners. I'm struggling to think of any easy corner beyond the first flat-out right-hander in the final sector.

Any street track will be frustrating cos of the walls, but I'm liking this.

Here's my first splits. It doesn't look like I'll be much of a threat this week. Awesome splits by both Carlos and millross!! 👍👍

T1: 27.387
T2: 33.284
T3: 41.181

I don't really know how it happen but everything just fell into place tonight and it's some of the best driving I've done in years. Punching well above my weight and really loving the combo this week. I just really hope I can keep this going. Only time will tell.
Lap 1:41.533

Nice times GTP_iddledoo! But these aren't showing up on the leaderboard.
You'd be above akmuq and me in Div4!

@Sureboss: I'm loving this combo and would probably put in 20 or more hours if I had the time. :grumpy:

You have to attack the chicane, if you don't you'll lose massive time.

The way I look at the chicane is this: There is the "Spool Up" phase and the 2 momentum phases.

The "Spool Up" phase allows you to approach the entry as relaxed as you want as long as you blast the power before you hit the Lft. turn portion clipping point so the you hit the magic # at the S/F line for your attack on T1.

The momentum phase through the chicane takes a deep breath and conviction to Wig Wag through the hard objects wo/ touching anything and still hit the magic #.

If you beat your ghost on L1 don't start thinking that you have to beat your ghost a second time because you just beat the time that is posted on the forum and your now going for your submission overall unless your going for a Grand Slam or your an egomaniac.

Something is wrong with your GTP name in connection with the leaderboard causing you not to be picked up by FetchBot so I decided to enter it to the board manually 👍
Great lap by the way!

Thanks Steven! Now D4'ers have something tangible and obvious to shoot for. 👍

27.220
32.835
40.492

This was good but I still can't get super fast T1s....

Nice work Millross - suspect you're well clear of me at the moment over the 2 laps as my second is not great. I have a self-imposed target for consistency this week, and I've still some way to go!

Shame it's not a one lapper this week

Improved to

27.739
33.227
41.401

Overall a 4 tenth improvement but the second lap was awful so still plenty to come. Thanks to all who've posted tips, they've been a great help.

No improvement today but in one of my hotlap, non official sessions I did a 1,41.6 so I should be able to nail down something tomorrow.👍

Hey guys. I turning fairly decent laps for my division and skill level I'd say but was wondering what setting ya'll are using for this track? Maybe I can pick up somewhere or handle a little better here using something different. Have been just using abs at 6-7 because I saw a very fast guy say he was doing the same but I have tc at 0 and everything else off.
Anyone drastically different? I'm willing to try anything to pick up 1/2 sec or so. Thanks.:dunce:

SPED1966 - Try 6/10 with abs at 2 or even 3 all others off. You can also try steering assist mild or strong. And if youre not already use 2nd for first corner 3rd for all others. The chicane caan be done in 2nd or 3rd, seems to be driver preference. Also as has been discussed, shift point is 6200 - 6500 rpm - NEVER later. Hope that helps.

You guys need to stop relying on steering assist..that's kinda lame.

C'mon Ryder! Need to make a push for the top!

@pyxen - Ive yet to see it help, I tried it last week for the first time... ever. I saw I believe eclipsi using it, and gave it a shot, but noticed nothing at all. I tried it this week, and ran slower! From my experience, if I make a jerky abrupt wheel movement, its because I need to, lol. Im still unsure what it does exactly, but I agree using it is lame, however it may help a slow driver learn the necessity of smooth steering inputs. To add to that, changing brake balance and ABS levels are also unnatural and (I believe) be viewed in the same light, along with any other aids. (not the disease hehe)

Splits from yesterday:

27.036
32.581
40.789

My best T1 has been a .830
ABS3 brakes 3/10 , shifting up at 87/120/158 km/h - +/-2km/h
Using 3rd gear for the chicane , speed thru it 77-81 km/h

MadMax

Some improvements... happy with my T3

T1: 27.262
T2: 33.038
T3: 40.462

At one point I actually ran a 1'40.5xx but a wall got on my way during my second lap:ouch:

Currently running:
BB: F5/R3
ABS: 1

Put my back out last week. Missed the nascars, I have been too sore to sit and look at GTPlanet forum on my pc, never mind trying to get into my cockpit and hotlap. Managed a shot on wednesday but felt very slow. Had a good try tonight and am starting to get a feel for the track. hopefully it will get better by Monday.

Here are my first times
T1:27.221
T2: 32.998
T3: 40.941

Never used steering assist......was just curious on the abs number....and how to change brake bias?

27.130 32.638 40.584 - 1'40.352 So happy I could poop :) -- Much more consistent now. 7/10 ABS 3. Set 3 or 4 best 2lap times in a 30 min period. best lap is 1'40.263 but would like to find WGE magic for T3, as my best is 40.425. @sped1966 - brake balance is only adjustable with DFGT and maybe T500RS wheel I believe. I recommend my settings above, even if you cant adjust brake balance the car turns in worlds better with some more anti-lock added. :) EDIT: FYI no active steering as I said it seems to slow me down, just might come in handy as a learning tool or aid for those using thumbs

Feeling Ok with T1 and T3, I just can't seem to figure out T2

T1: 27.199
T2: 32.909
T3: 40.526

Use the big red button on the wheel, and then the +/- buttons on the other side to go through it.

The dial around the red button allows you to adjust the levels up and down.
