Chuk and Millross, you want to go faster? Have at it.

My nerves are shot trying to duck into the 27's in T1 and not throw it away later in the lap. I had to correct a couple of little slides coming out of the long left at the end of T2 which cost me a tenth up the hill, but otherwise I'm at my limit for my skill, time commitment and equipment in that car on that track.

Used BB of 7/3, ABS3, AS off, TCS off.

You beat me, you deserve it 👍

27.711
33.513

Liking the identical T2 split to my one on the board! .3 at the line and I think there's maybe another tenth there for me, possibly two, but unlikely to get any more time today (unless the football goes really bad tonight!). So submitted. Good luck all.

Oh man, that's a horrible thing to happen Red...
Oh man Red, that's really bad luck.

Thanks for the nice comments. I appreciate them.

I managed to go back and put together a decent lap... Went to the replay and realized you can't trust whether it turns your lap red or not in sector 1. Turns out the second part of the chicane I was about 2" out of bounds.

So I went through some old laps.. It is tight on the second part of the chicane as well, but clean. I will submit this one. Probably my 8th fastest lap of the week. A bit of a frustrating end to what felt like a successful week.

T1: 27.573
T2: 33.378

I have seen low .3's in both T1 and T2, but not on a lap that is either clean or one I have a replay for. I need to lay down for a while as I am completely beat... but maybe I will muster some energy for one final attempt b4 deadline.

I know I say it all the time, but I really enjoy the WRS. Thank you to the admins, and to participants like Sidplayos and Vagabond that make this such a great experience.

Great improvement over the week Peter 👍

Thanks Chris, actually quite happy with my progress as I was never good at this track. I gave some extra effort than usual on this one, the hardest one's are always the best challenge, and more rewarding. Was never going to catch you, but getting closer I think to take it to you :sly:

Actually must say a big thanks to Stotty for the advice he gave me about throttle applications and steering angles. I have been trying his suggestions and feel it is helping to make small steps in the right direction 👍

Some new splits for D3! :D
T1: 27.679
T2: 33.657

My best t1, with a decent sector, but still a little slow on the final set of corners. Still, I know I'm close to the limit now.

@Anghammarad
I think you should have another try, only 1 thousandth behind me, I'm sure you can find that ;) (Although my T3 was terrible anyway)

Don't worry, I will. :) My last sector isn't all that either. There's probably a tenth to be found in that one alone not to mention that I think I found out a way to do T1 a lot better. (in theory)

This makes my mind up in terms of running this again, if there was any doubt at all :)

Those are excellent splits. I can't beat that.

Nice times all! 👍
I am submitting with what is on the board from earlier in the week as I have just not found any more time for this week... :(
Good luck to all still pushing this little beast! ;)
See you all at the 'Ring! :D

Xerxes. :)

Managed to get in a few laps before moving on to the monster!
Shaved 0.2 at the line, we'll see if it's enough to catch Darkstar!!
Submitting.
Good luck all!

I've triple checked my replay. Made it by about six inches!! :)
Time submitted with posted splits.
On to Germany!

I have just spent about an hour to get some decent splits.

27.734
33.771

I am happy enough with these now, so I will be submitting the lap with these splits.:)

Chris, No infection here, only 33.4xx/33.5xx in T2, but I am consistant there. In T2 most critical is to get that 1st left hander nailed correctly. Get that right and you will gain about 0.2 off the bat. I sweep right out to the rumble strip on the right hand side, and the timing seems to be just about exactly as I just get on the rumbles, dab the brake and then hold around 105-109kph around the corner. I don't give full gas until after the little roadway/pitlane (whatever it is) on the right hand side.

For the 2nd corner I brake down to 2nd and let off the gas an coast out wide initially, allowing me to come back in tight. I have a couple of markers I use for this. The 1st is the 2nd Brembo sign, when I see this in front of me I give about 75% constant throttle. The next is the little race control stand in the hill after the 2 final GT5 signs. When I see this it is my queue to get on the gas HARD!.

I've always tried to find physical fixed objects on the track or surrounds, rather than the braking markers themselves. This goes back about 10 years ago when someone took out the braking markers on the side at a track day. I came flying down and realized I had no braking markers and ended up in the sand in the run off area. :grumpy: Ever since then I never use things like shadows etc, since they may work in the game, but in real life shadows move :) Instead I use things like particular bumps/ridges in the track, or a grove left by a footpeg digging up the track.

Thanks for this writeup, by the way.

While my approach was roughly the same as yours, I was not as consistent in T2 due to not using the specific markers you mention, especially for the round, loopy corner. I was also not carrying enough speed through the first left, and not getting all the way out to the right to set up for it with enough consistency.

Ironically enough, I ended up developing more consistency through the 2nd and 3rd sectors, and gave some away relative to my best efforts in the first sector. That one, though, I think is a little more about luck, in terms of being able to keep the car pointed without cutting too much. I also think it's a deceptive split, since you can carry more speed through the into the second sector while giving a little time away in the first if you manage to keep from dipping a tire to the left of the track.

Good luck to everyone in the results.

Kevin

Kevin, it's a shootout to the line! :)

T1: 28.160

I was able to get a better time before leaving yesterday, picking a sector trifecta, but didn't have time to make sure it was clean at a couple of spots till this morning......

.......:scared:

I was hoping for my first D4 podium this week but alas, can't catch up with the leaders....just hope my T3 keeps me close. :)

Nice combo, Kevin!

Submitting with the above and moving on to the Green Hell!!

Bah- Had to make a website for my wife this weekend for her classroom and didn't have time to come back to this. GL in the results guys!

Sorry, Kevin and the D3 crew, but this one is my best. I just love this track!! :sly:

When looking at my replay from earlier, I realized I had forgotten to change the brake settings. So I made them 6/4, ABS 1, all other aids off. I just wanted to see the difference. Slightly slower T1, and then it's good-by. :)

New splits.
T1: 27.758
T2: 33.458

:) :D

Ironically, Chuk, I changed my BB to 6/4 from 7/3 for my last run and got a big chunk! Got it from Lotus Tuning!!

👍

Nice work Dan! We'll see if I can catch you in T3. Submitting my best "AS off" lap.

Nice turn out this week. Great combo, thanks Kevin & Co.

It seems to me that with MR cars, you don't need a big difference in settings to produce a big difference in handling. I would have loved to be able to tune this car. :)

Happier with my T1 but lost most of it in T2. Overall slightly faster lap by a tenth.

T1: 27.827
T2: 34.219

Quick question, has anyone had fetchbot send a bunch of messages that don't make sence. I got a week 13 submission accepted, then week 1 and week 2 rejected? also some messaged about the body of message. What?

Would have threw you a tow rope but this was all I had!

Except for the current podium spots, the rest of us D4s are really jammed up close this week.

I am not in a very good position right now.

:nervous:

{Looks in rearview mirror!!!}

Yes, I did. I had week 1 rejected twice and week two rejected once and then my week 13 was accepted.

Fetch needs a raise! 👍

It definately needs a raise, and a pat on the back :D

The PM's you received can be ignored, see here.

Yes, sir! I ignored them.

Can't help with the raise, but you damn sure get a well-deserved pat on the back from me, and I'm sure everybody else!!!

Well I did give it another go and look how much time I found in T2...

27.852
33.425

T3 is a bit better though so it's 5/100 faster than my previous best across the line.

To frustrated to continue, I am too unfamiliar with flashdrives and data saves and transfers and what not. I bought a new PS3 the day before psn was back up, I couldn't do data transfer as I traded my old unit and somehow when trying to figure out how to put all my info on the new unit I deleted my game save data for my GTP account :( I still have the account but its back to level 0. The only thing I didn't erase was my replay for this week! So I'm just going to move on, at least I managed to keep my data for my main account, level 37 with alot of cars and time spent.

:ouch: nice run Chuk. Looks like D3 is all yours buddy:tup:

EDIT: Just looked at the leaderboard!! Didn't appreciate the effectiveness of those splits Chuk. 7th o/a is mighty impressive my friend. Great job. Looks like it's between me and Millross for silver...

Did a few laps today before submitting and was able to bring down my lap time with much slower splits! :) + the splits on leader board were from a dirty run :(

Good luck all 👍
