After all most two weeks off it took a good couple of hours to get back in the groove again.
First splits:
27.921
33.789
Good fun 👍

Sid (and the 43 others who are above me),
That run-down is much appreciated. Are you able to keep it in 3rd on this 1st corner in T2? I always have to drop to 2nd. I'll compare my speed to yours when I look at my replay, that should tell me too.
Sorry I might have confused you in my explanation. I was mentioning the 1st left and 2nd left hand corners, but not the 1st right hand corner of T2.

In the 1st right hand corner I also drop to 2nd, before swinging across to the right rumble strip.

Gravitron
Also you must be cutting across the left-hand rumble quite a bit too, right (legally, of course!)?
You mean on the second corner left hander? I don't cut that too much at all, just dip the front left over but that's it.

Gravitron
Also what's people's speed across the start/finish? My best is 109mph/175kph.

I'm usually crossing at about 176/177kph, after the last kink I steer such that I am right over at the right hand wall before the finish, pointing to the left wall, which gives an extra few meters to build up the speed. But if I'm on the end of a good lap, then ignore that and stay a bit tighter to the right to get to the line sooner.

Getting a little better....little at a time. Managed about 20 laps.

No! You weren't confusing at all, I was in a hurry when I wrote that, so forgot, of course, about the hairpin right being the first corner in T2. I was asking about the "1st left and 2nd left hand corners" that you were talking about, in more detail, since that 1st left is so weird, with its strange camber.

Thanks for all your insights, so nice!

I was about to go relax and watch the rest of the Rolex Daytona Prototype race on Speed channel, but now I want to go put in a few laps!

As Chuk would say, Race On! 👍

EDIT: Right on cue, Chuk! I'm not green yet on the Sony blog map, so I don't think I'll have to take that "pit stop" just yet. :D

About nine minutes later it is now installing! :)

Done! Changed password and now starting the game. :D

Now I'm checking to see what's there from B-spec Bob from online racing. At first glance, it seems they are exactly where they were on 4/20.

This is both interesting and aggravating. I received prizes from my drivers. When I did my first driver, it gave me the credits, but didn't clear out the prize menu from the "My Drivers" screen. The other three drivers, I collected the prizes and their driver screen is updated.

So I exited and went back in to the "My Drivers" screen, and it's updated, showing the first driver at zero prizes.

The proof in the pudding is about five hours away, when we go racing in the morning!
I'll be awake and sober, Kenny, I promise.
O.K., but I WILL be awake!

Back to the track.

Race On!

One last thought: Only 5 Museum cards and paint chips. I'm partial to the paint chips over the cards, so 5 was a disappointment. I like to paint my cars in only their manufacturer's color.

I'm checking the network for on-line racing. 84 rooms to choose from . So far, so good. Chukabilly Out!

Might be last splits for me on this, MotoGP in couple of hours at Le Mans. See if I can get a go tomorrow after work.

27.752
33.654

It's like T1 and T2 are mutually exclusive for me, still another couple of tenths in this. Had to throw away a suspect dirty lap (only 0.08 better anyway) which is my only 27.6xx :(

Somehow managed to set a new best with cold tires after a restart.

T1: 27.991
T2: 33.649

And again :)

T1: 27.817
T2: 33.586

Nice splits. Looking forward to seeing you in the official WRS registry. Please note that I have yet not lost to another swede in WRS. I'm just saying... :sly:. (Mind you I don't think there has ever been another swede in any of the WRS's I've taken part in)

Some improvement before MotoGP & BSB!

T1: 27.529
T2: 33.411

Submitting with these times

T1 28.237
T2 34.539

We have lift off :)

edit - Chris.. you and I have the exact same time in T1 down to the thousandth. Must be a groove on the track:idea:
Hey! I would've thought you were good enough already.... you don't need to copy me too. :dopey: Nice T2 that... I wants it... :sly:

I don't know if I should be insulted or not that you would think I didn't know that.... :P My comment was a reference to the Honda Ad that Ramon posted a link to... and that I have been singing to myself in my sessions ever since.

Racing On! :gtpflag:

T1: 27.449
T2: 33.318

Not the best T3, so I have a little bit more work left. Definitely starting to feel this track. Great choice on combos this week Kevin!

...Amazing splits....

Looks like you've taken an evolutionary leap from cow there mate. Awesome sectors. 👍 Can't see me catching you unless I can tidy up T2 quite a bit.

I can't wait to see some replays, redreevos his T2 is more than a second faster and I felt like it wouldn't go much faster there.
I have to admit that I didn't drive this car much before this event and on a track like this it's not an easy task.

Thanks Chris. I am running a few more laps this week than usual. I got a pretty bad cold and there isn't much else to do.

Funny about out our T1 times being the same earlier... I ran a new fastest lap right after that one, and had the exact same T1 again. Sometimes I wonder if the timer is accurate, or likes certain times better than others.

I find my T2 time comes down to the first two turns of that sector. I am pretty consistent on the long left to end the sector. The first one (right hander), I brake a little bit early and then let the car coast through the apex and gun it on the way out. The second one, I like to turn in with a tiny tap of the brake, coast until the slight downward slope, and accelerate while on that slope. I hope that helps Poolhaas, it is a very sensitive car.. but thats what makes it fun!

Thanks for the tips, I've been spinning out alot comming out of the T2 hairpin so maybe I'm too cautious there losing some time.

T1: 0'27.824
T2: 0'33.488

Left right/right after T2 was a bit rubbish

Phillip.

Left right/right after T2 was a bit rubbish

Nice T2 though Phillip 👍

I've started to get the hang of T2 finally... now to tie it up to a better T1.

T1: 27.625
T2: 33.500

Seen a 27.491 T1 and a T2 of 35.420... as ever, joining the dots becomes increasingly difficult. Fun doing it though... Been a very enjoyable week so far.

Wow I think the update made me faster...👍

T1: 28.009
T2: 33.562

Actually I just tried something I haven't done before, as some have suggested I turned AS on. It's definitely helping me with consistency/control. Still struggling with T1 though, but I did see a 27.7xx at one point.

Current Settings:
BB: F6/R4
ABS: 1
AS: Strong

Thanks! I'll try my best to be a good rival (unofficial until I get placed in a division) if that's the case. ;)

I got some new splits for you to chew on and I'll probably give it another go between the hockey games.

T1: 27.809
T2: 33.423

Not much happening at T1 but much better T2 and run to the line.

Edit: Interesting thing here, I forgot to set brake balance this session (been running 10/8, 10/7 and 7/5 before) and suddenly I was beating my old best several laps in a row and my new fastest is now almost .3 faster than before. I think as I get more and more used to the car I'm actually getting faster when it rotates more on its own during braking...

Slower by a few thousandths to T2 but 2 hundredths better at the line. If only id hookup my best sectors in a single lap......

Hehe, yeah T3 goes to pieces after seeing that the timer isn't red at T2... "Woohoo!" [overcook the double right]

Think my T2 is falling into place now but going backwards in T1 a bit:

T1: 27.604
T2: 33.434

Just threw away a 1'00.967 (at T2) cutting the first curb in T3 too much but I'm feeling a fairly good rhythm now I think.

Really not seeing these .6 in T1!!! Well, I can, but the car is just way too twitchy through the chicane.

After a couple of busy work days, jumped on today and has no rhythm, not sure if I'm going to eek out anything else from this combo.

I'm taking notes from division 2 drivers. I see at least red is going full-blown alien now- and a7x is miid-transformation - its about time they bring you both to D1 Isnt it? Havent gotten a lap in 2 days, hopefully I can get more, but I submitted just in case, hopefully Ill need to resubmit. :)

We had a successful morning. No network drops or interruptions for over four hours of racing! Now it's time to see if I can catch millross.

Go easy on me Chukster ;)

I hoped for more this afternoon in a 90 minute session but couldn't hook it together. I must have had a couple of .5xx in T2 and I saw ONE .797 in T1 - there is a 1:01.4xx in me but I can't get it. At least I got an extra 0.024 out of the session though - everything's a bonus!

Still - I am really happy with the time I've got, so I'm not gonna worry about a tenth that I can't quite get. This weeks been a blast :)
