Wow, this thing is a blast, I wasn't expecting it to be so driveable in stock form.

27.803
23.792
13.607

Messed up t3 and the car was at about 511hp for this lap, it's not broken in yet.

Fantastic combo Kev.

27.695

Not sure how far it can be pushed yet.

Getting this up quick before Baron takes off, once his car is broken in! :D

27.908
23.753
13.644

I missed the bus in the busstop so had to wait around for the next one. :grumpy:

EDIT: Well done Chris on pushing the limits. 👍

Your posting style reflects a lack of respect, in my opinion. If I came into your tuning thread, and said, "This car understeers too much for my taste, so I adjusted the ride height to make it suit my style.", that would be a respectful statement of my opinion.

If I came in and said, "I don't get it. Why would you make a tune that makes this car understeer so much? It's total crap! 👎 "

That would be a disrespectful statement of my opinion.

I personally have dedicated a significant amount of my valuable time toward these time trials for the past 4 years. We have a staff of race admins who do the same. Yes, this is the official GTP organized event. But without people, and effort for those people, it just doesn't work. In that sense, it's my thread, or our thread.

It of course ultimately belongs to the community, but the feedback is directed at us. That feedback is positive, for the most part. And people saying, "I don't like this track" is not a big deal to me, as that's still a respectful statement of their opinion. If they said, "Why would you choose this track? It's a horrible choice". I would take exception.

I'm not a fan of propaganda against an event being posted in the thread. It's all a matter of how you go about it. I personally don't like it when people make broad, sweeping statements that call the quality of the combo that I selected into question.

It seemed to me that it was an uninformed opinion, so I provided information. And I also reacted to the tone of the post.

After that, all Mitch did was participate in the event and take second place in his division. In my view, my post (And the posts of others reacting to the same comments) was effective in gaining participation for the event, which is always my ultimate goal.

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. Way to react, there.

Wait a minute, how did I get brought into this? The post you referred to was this: manumanu19 View Post
This car drives like ship, its got terrible understeer, I'll sit this week out . Mike looks like you love this car, 29,000 miles on it

I had nothing to do with that. Don't I cause enough controversy without you adding me to unrelated things? Damn, I keep my mouth shut and I still manage to get caught up in things. Come on man, give me a break, I'm innocent this time. :nervous:

Seriously tho, I am a bit confused as the above quote came from someone else, not me. I feel like Rodney Dangerfield....I get no respect.:lol:

EDIT: And I even said this, a few posts later giving you guys credit and respect for what you do here.

@manumanu19: I have learned that there is a reason behind the Stewards madness into putting together these combos...and its just not about putting a cool car on a cool track. I may be wrong, but from what I have experienced, these combos are put together with a reasoning to improve our skills and to learn throttle control, braking, ect. You really shouldn't be so quick to judge and sit down and have a proper go with the car and give it a chance. You never know, you might come out of it with a new found respect for the car, which I have many times before. So, come on in and enjoy the fun, you never know what could come out of the experience

Yeah, sorry. I messed that one up.

praiano referenced you in his post, but I think it was with reference to your complaints about Holty.

I should have waited until I had more coffee in me before making that reply. :P

Apparently this is me showing my dictatorial side.

Ah, ok, I see. Well, for the record, I really didn't see it that way, as you being a dictator or whatever. I saw it as me voicing my opinion about something and then you explaining things to me, which gave me a better understanding of the situation after I went and thought about it awhile. Although I may be controversial at times, I always respect the job you and the rest of the staff do here. Sometimes you just have to hit me upside my head to get me to understand things. At any rate, that was then and this is now.....give me a minute and I'll find something else to complain about. No problems my friend. Peace.

27.619
23.501
13.476

Lost a bit in sector 2 being too far right braking for the long right hander after the kink. A smidge smoother (and cleaner) through the bus-stop though. At this point I think I'm looking for about 2 tenths :P Its always 2 tenths... always...

I really didn't have any problem with you or your comments. As you said, once we explained, you moved on.

My dictator reference is to the one I was replying to.

Hope you get to feeling better soon, tough fall you had.

I really don't know how you guys get so close to your limit so early, I'm usually still picking up whole bunches of time by Sunday/Monday.

I just thought I'd post my first efforts and then I read the dust up, man I love a verbal back and forth especially w/ the British flair. "V" you crack me up the way you dish it out "Bloody Good" I never really liked his tunes that much anyway  GTP WRS rockz and if you ain't in this club you ain't, sooooo...... :)

T1: 28.677
T2: 24.200
T3: 13.806

Thanks Kevin??. I'm not doing myself any favors I'm sure by attempting to keep running, but you know me, I just don't know when to rest.

Dropped 4 tenths at the line.

27.817
23.629
13.444

Using a BB of 7/10.

And eclipsee linked in a thread explaining how to earn $20m in one hour.
I don't see the advantage in doing the eclipsee thing. If I'm missing something you can't use anything gained in your Main GTP account. Correct me If I'm wrong please. So I'll just go and grind in my main account, though I probably will not post splits. Not up to par with the lower DIV's even, yet. :grumpy:

Gayle, you can do the seasonal on your GTP_GDS account.

Or, if you have 20mil on your non-GTP account you can buy the car there and put it on share and then borrow it from your GTP_GDS account.

Or, you can send a FR to GTP_3D3Racing and borrow the one on share there.

Or, I can send you a '67 ticket and you can cycle it.

There are ways to get you going. 👍

Yes! Thanks for reminding me. I will borrow from 3D3. Not going to do online racing anyway. Having an "Old Timers" moment!! :)👍

Send me a PM if you're not already on the friend list, and go ahead and send a FR.

I'll go accept it and then you're good. But according to my records you are already on the friends list. 👍

I borrowed the car! Like the car and ran a few laps. Winds up slow and brakes well and that is to my liking! 👍

Checked my T3 time and it's ok. T1 & T2 must be slow because I use 1st gear in those turns?

1st gear works OK for most of the tight turns here. Chris' video shows him using 1st on turn 1, but I like to keep it in 2nd. But the other tight turns in the infield can all be taken fairly quickly in 1st.

I think Chris' advice about careful trail braking is good. 👍

I was seeing better splits to T3 than these, but here's what I have for now:

27.904
23.718
13.566

Why a race car with adjustable LSD , custom trans, customizable suspension.................... If you can't fix anything ?????:indiff:
Don't like the stock settings approach.👎 specially on a race car.

Anyway, i don't see anything in my comments to generate this kind of answer from you, it's OK , not a problem anymore.
Good day everybody.

A new day and feeling a lot more comfortable:

27.852
23.912
13.492

Scrappy S2 which impeded my S3 slightly- ran too deep into the horseshoe and then also got the car slightly loose on the corner entering the banking.

Have seen .7 in S2. So maybe .2-3 to find, maybe .4 if I can nail a (clean :nervous:) bus-stop. 👍

EDIT: Just blew this lap in the Bus-stop:

27.840
23.769
13.455

:ouch:

EDIT:

New splits:

27.963
23.763
13.447

Dropped .1 in S1 but up .2 at the line. 👍

I used this car many times so probably messed with settings a bit. An easy way to get them back to stock settings? Can somebody post these stock settings please?
Sorry if I'm missing something and these is just silly

Just go into each setting area and click on the yellow 'reset' button on the bottom right of each screen

Just a tip / FYI. If you are unsure the car is stock venture into your own private lounge. Go into regulations and set tuning prohibited (nothing else matters in the lounge settings). Now if you can enter the track you are stock. If you have anything different you will fail inspection and it will alert you. Keep resetting things to default until you can enter. The *only* things in a car you can change and still enter track are Power Level (which will be clear via HP and BB values) and BB which is allowed to change.
