New splits. Got close to my target, final sector could have been better.

26.054
24.777
20.907

Off to Tokyo, that should be fun.

T1: 25.920
T2: 24.545
T3: 20.878

I'm with Plato, didn't care for this combo at all, me and that car just didn't jive at all.. submitting with these splits and moving on to next week..

Submitted, forgot to get splits before I turned off the PS3. Will check tomorrow but think it was 10.7xx so it will move me down a bit on the board, faster at the line though.

Condolences to Lefty and family 👍

I can't help but notice this week that split updates aren't flying in on a regular basis like normal, is it just me or are there others not really feeling the love for this one so to speak.

I will give it another run before the deadline, theres nothing wrong with the car selection for me, it's the track. I loved this track so much on the Forza Motorsport series that I ended up running it to death until I eventually got sick of the sight of it, and it has put me off putting the hours in around here.

What about some of you guys, is it the car or track selection, or maybe tyre selection that is putting you off this week?

No one can really say that it is not noticeable that this week hasn't been run as hard as previous weeks

What do you guys think?
Good luck to all with results this week 👍

I love this combo, my favorite to run on GT5 so far.

However, it's really a frustrating one when pushing for every last tenth. As I think Zoky said, every corner is difficult. It makes it so that stringing your best sectors together is almost impossible. I was not able to pass my magic lap from earlier in the week until today, that's the reason you did not see any split updates from me. It wasn't that I was not running, it's that I wasn't improving. I'm guessing many were in the same boat.

I also submitted, and moved on to Tokyo.
My problem with this week has been OMRS, and the tires on the car. I always prefer stock rubber, and downgrading this car to N3's made for all the weird driving needed, such as downshifting to first, then upshifting to second to exit.
It's a shame what they did to the gears, would have been a much better drive with non-automatic gears.

Hey! that was me! ;) (Unless he said it too)

Sorry for not giving credit where credit is due.

With all due respect, I would not consider Sports Hard tires to be stock. N3's are honestly an upgrade from the stock tires, N2's would be more like it.

But as I said, these provide the most realistic translation of what the car can do.

Well I assume you'd know better owning one. ;)
My point is actually related to the gears, these tires, with these gears, on this car just tragically combined a bit.
I'll certainly grant you with realistic gears N3's would be great. But I have to ask, are you sure it's not the uber-long gears that make N3's seem like an upgrade?

Mainly, I was referring to what the actual tires would be when stating that N2's would be more realistic.

I'm definitely not mistaking the realism of the N3's due to the gearing. I'm specifically referring to the mid corner lateral grip, which has nothing to do with the gearing.

I see. Just curious, figured maybe it was something more of a traction related comparison. But then I've found to get proper lateral grip in GT, you must have worse than standard forward traction. Either way makes you wonder why PD chose S1's.

T1: 25.767
T2: 24.392
T3: 20.961

This should do it for me. Never really got comfortable with T3.

Hi everybody. It is an honor to be competing with you all, if you can call it that with these times:

T1: 26.278
T2: 24.720
T3: 21.018

I'm going to try to get another session in before the deadline, but this may be all I can do with this combo. I've never been able to wrap my head around Laguna...

I decided to give this one another go after a frustrating session this morning that got me nothing more than a handful of iffy laps and a dirty car.:yuck: Managed to pull together a decent lap, aside from leaving a bit of time on the table through Rainey it was the best consecutive opening sectors I've run so far and bettered my previous fastest time by .2 sec

Submitting with these and calling it a night.
T1: 25.612
T2: 24.210
T3: 20.480

These where the splits

T1: 25.676
T2: 24.300
T3: 20.681

Didn't get a very good exit out of T2 but everything else was reasonably close to my best sections. Good thing I checked my splits too because I had submitted the wrong lap to fetchbot so I'm resubmitting now. :)

I improved my overall time by two tenths yesterday, but it turned out it was a dirty lap.:grumpy: I might give it another go today before the deadline, we'll see.:)

Splits

T1 25.521
T2 24.123
T3 20.441

This was looking promising, but as usual bottled it and completely 🤬 up the last sector and left 2-3 tenths in there. Nothing unusual for me to bottle what could have been a good lap :banghead:

With this only beat my time by a tenth, gutted :grumpy:

I have submitted the lap with these splits.

25.637
24.310
20.736

I have been faster but the laps were either dirty or too close to risk.

This was definitely a fun combo and I could see another .5 seconds achievable overall and maybe a little over 1 second if I plugged in the wheel, but I didn't have much time to run this combo and will have to submit my time from current splits.

See you all at the finish line!

Had one final session and finally hit the mark in terms of the last sector, on a decent T3 split of 1'09.45x

25.508
23.904 (Massive PB)
20.044

5/9 BB

Submitted and good luck in the results and a shame Zoky you fell sick, hope you're fully over it.

Slightly slower splits, but something happened in T4 that I can probably never repeat :dopey:

Probably submitting this. Like several other weeks, my best lap will consist of rather average splits (for me), except for one that saves everything.

I am still more than 0.5 from my potential, one day I will have the consistency to narrow it down to 2 or 3 tenths.

25,850
24,497
20,517

That is an insane T2, great splits 👍

Can't find my flash drive! I'm looking, might not submit this week. I'll buy a new one if it doesn't turn up but not today. I have improved some since my last splits but I won't post if I don't submit. Good Luck everybody!

The Devil came down to Laguna Seca...

Dan... [various envious expletives]

Anyone wanna buy a brand new Fanatec GT3? [wail, gnash, beat fists on floor]

Still playing in the sand, no improvement since my last splits - done many laps and been up at T3 only to watch Ghosty bugger off into the distance in the last sector.... I'm looking at a theoretical 0.3 better than my current splits but in reality, sewing it all together is harder than usual this week. One last run for an hour later tonight and I'm done. Great challenging combo Kev - really a test of patience as well as skill. 👍

Submitted.

Wish I'd have had more time on this one as I really enjoyed it.

Amazing splits Dan 👍

And sincere condolences Lefty!

Thanks alot Dan for explaining! i'll see if it helps me now, gonna have a final go now, pretty nackered though after working 12 hours.
