The OP's pretty clear about that.... I think :ill:

The way I read it, we're meant to use the version of the car available in arcade mode.

i'm 100% sure about that one. Don't use your own car but the one that is avalible in the arcade mode.

Great combo (again). Wonderful to have blast in a race car. 👍

No splits yet, just getting a feel for the race tyres after nearly a 1000 miles on comfort softs :)

Quick question about this:

"Grip Reduction on Track Edge" setting...

Has anyone noticed any actual difference in changing this?

1st attempt.
16.726
42.969
1:04.797

Car Type: Arcade Only >Premium

Believe it's only for rain races, but i'm not 100% sure about it. If it did mather it would not be optional

First splits just to get on the (non-functioning board) Definitely a lot more in there.

16.127
41.797
1'02.886

Last "chicane" will be my undoing this week.

First attempt:

T1: 15.564
T2: 40.843
T3: 1'01.623

Cheers.

Solid start mate 👍

My first efforts

T1: 15.696
T2: 40.869
T3: 1'01.757

No one sector was anything flash.. Seen 15.5's and see a few more tenths over the rest of the lap...

Going to be a tricky one.. Nailing all those together.. But I can say its a lot more fun than trying to do hairpins all day...

Well.. Have put 5 laps in just to get my time down. Much more fun! Great car to drive and I love this circuit!

T1: 16.667
T2: 42.422
T3: 1'04.012

Looking forward to very frustrating week ahead....

I'm done with this WRS stuff. Too much room for avoiding the rules, and that's no fault of the mods. If any mods are seeing this, please take me out of the registry.

I don't doubt that the majority of the peeps participating are legit, but the non-legit section is enough to spoil it for me.

Just relax and have fun. How do you know anyone is cheating. And its not for money or anything so it doesnt affect you overly its just a pain in the arse. (not that i condone cheating, infact the opposite i despise it.) If anyone does cheat they will be found out eventually.

Thought you'd give It a go for a few week before making a rash decision.

Update on splits.
16.230
41.754
1:03.169

The key to getting a good start really lies at the last chicane.
You want to be on 230km/h going over the start line.
Once you can nail that you can get under 16:000 on the first split and set yourself up for a hot lap.
Id expect to get another second off my best.

I doubt any one would cheat Knowing the Majority Don't and Even if they did What difference will it make to you .It's all about Improving Your Driving and Playing with the Best .

Just Have Fun and Ignore this 👍

I personally think there is quite a big difference. Have a try and make up your own mind, but a wheel in the grass yields very different results for me at least. I always set it to real when I'm hosting my concours club as I can be sure everyone participating is using the same settings. If I had to speculate Kev has made this optional so nobody can gain an advantage by using one or the other. If you find the low setting to be quicker for you, Kev has allowed you to use it 👍 Personally I'm going real :D

Btw my heart sank when I saw week 2 had 'supra' in the title. I'm an avid cockpit user and I thought we were onto the standards already :scared: Personally I wont compete in standard events, just a preference, but I wondered if there were plans to use them at all? Using every premium car would last the WRS at least 4 years without them after all 👍

In the Week 1 thread...
Look forward to seeing your splits at Trial Mountain 👍
Yeah I'll bet you are, matey, hehe :)

I never realised how truly bad I am at Trial Mountain... really awful. I've done about 25 laps or so this morning and only managed 2 clean.

15 laps in a row losing the back end coming over the rise after turn 1 :ouch:

Another 5 laps hitting the wall going into the tunnel... :yuck:

1st lap was clean but I could've beaten that time in the Camaro I reckon. Last lap was also clean and yielded:

T1: 16.402
T2: 41.944
T3: 1.03.112

I was hoping to be not quite so obsessive this week and not put as many miles in... buggered that, so now its another 1000 miles to try and clean up that mess. :nervous: 1st sector in particular looks like I'm in a drifting competition.

Happy hunting, chaps! 👍 :)

I don't think there is much room for avoiding the rules really and reckon most if not all of us willl stick to them anyway. The whole point is to do the best you can and measure yourself against your peers... you'll know who they are and the fastest times will be set by the same folk usually, all of whom have pretty good reputations here. You're worrying over nothing and spoiling it for yourself. Just relax and have fun going as fast as you can within the rules. :)

Nice combo! This brings me to my only problem I've ever had with the WRS. ME & MY lack of time some weeks!

Think that the 3 first turns are crucial too for a good T1

Is it really make a big difference? If it is, I think Kev would probably set to low to prevent people of cheating.

About your comment about the cockpit view. I’m on the same boat as you. I think premium cars will be used a lot. Cos the occasion dealer changes al the time so it would be almost impossible to participate in an WRS week for everybody if they don’t have the car already. Or one will be used from that horrible online occasion dealer.

Some progression. First sector needs some work!

T1: 15.723
T2: 40.825
T3: 1.01.624

Is there a change to the leaderboard in the works were you just post the intermediate splits as they show up on the replay live timing and the leaderboard then calculate the splits?

If I get confirmation from the admins that they want to change this (which I think they will), i'm going to implement this.

Just hold tight a little longer, I think it will be fixed very soon :)
