Honestly, I'm just done with trying to post an event that's completely foolproof when it comes to rule breaking. There are literally 2 events (At Most) on the game right now that will allow for 100% accuracy when it comes to replay verification.
...
But, at the same time, we've been at this a long time. And if people want to cheat after running a qualifier that IS verifiable form a standpoint of accuracy, we WILL kick them to the curb.
This is what I said in the Week 1 thread for why that week should still count. Even if someone did cheat, without being able to increase the HP, I can't imagine them saving more than half a second, if that... and that's a big risk for little reward. Compared to the cheating opportunities in the future it's nothing. So am I the only one that thinks there's no reason to disregard that week?

(I realize they'll probably fix the replay system eventually, but I don't have my hopes up for backwards-compatibility with old replays.)

Great track+car+tyre combo!! :D I am enjoying it sooooo much more than week 1.

First (bad) splits:

T1: 0'16.944
T2: 0'44.042
T3: 1'05.332

..... and make a complete mockery of your divisional placing.....
To be fair, I made a complete mockery of my division placing with the Camaro ;) As the cliche goes "Many laps make light head" :dopey:

Looks like you might thrash me this week though mate, if I carry on like I was this morning.... (not had a chance to get any more laps in yet today - trying again after dinner)

I agree with you for what its worth. After testing a second Z28 with the tuning parts in place for extra torque and peak power at lower revs, I couldn't get the power down out of the hairpins and ended up 0.5 secs slower... For me, the untuned engine with fixed ratio transmission was the way to go.

If the update had come at the beginning of the challenge instead of halfway through, I think the admin guys may have decided differently.... but that's a moot point now. If you're there Kev, did you think over my idea about replay verification for week 1?

Switched to grip reduction low and improved 3 tenths right away, splits:

15.731:yuck:
40.596
1'01.430
--------

Done for today.

First try. :)

T1: 15.813
T2: 40.927
T3: 1:01.782

Best so far: .6xx / .6xx / .5xx

So, a lot of work is waiting.

True to a point, but it's a big difference from going from D5 Gold to D2 Gold (and possibly faster from what he has posted) than going from D2 Bronze to D2 Gold..... yes?

Still very much to gain, seen 1'.03.xxx already, but that lap wasn't clean. Anyhow, here are the splits from my first 15 laps.

16.536
43.101
1'04.550

Just added this clarification to the first post, althought I thought it was already clear, by saying "Arcade Only" in car type.

The car used for this race is from the "Arcade Only" Section. Do Not use a car from the "Favorites" Section.

Your wording was clear. 👍

My fault :dopey: I forgot about the arcade tab, i've only ever used favorites in arcade mode.

Cheers Shaun.

16.466
42.298
1'04.148

There are so many great things about this combo for me: good tires, fast car, and no tuning! :) Took me two hours to actually finish a lap with decent times, though I know I've done T1 0.3s faster and T3 0.4s faster.

First splits, for that very enjoyable combo, I love the last sector after the long straight, well I just love Trial Mountain.

T1: 16.034
T2: 41.323
T3: 1'02.076

T1: 15.715
T2: 40.838
T3: 1.02.014

Small improvement after a few more laps. There's at least another half second there for me with all tidy sectors.

Lovin' this combo.👍

We haven't said that the results will never count.

Only trying to ward off the inevitable questioning and moaning if we said that the results would count. I guess we can't win, either way. :sly:

Kicking off for a new week, here are my current splits.

T1: 16.221
T2: 41.638
T3: 1'02.687

T1. 16,194
T2. 41,457
T3. 1,02,476

Fun combo,hope to improve a few tenths.👍👍

OK, I am struggling to get decent time here.
I thought it was the track / car combo last week, so i thought MEH, leave it til next week, it'll get better . . . IT HASN'T!!
I need help, i am a DS3 user, so what can i adjust / tweak to help me?
You guys are ALREADY in the low 16s - mid 15s for T1, i can't even break the 17s barrier??
HELP A ROOKIE OUT!!!!!!

Cheers All!!!

Don't feel bad, mate - it is a tricky circuit... particularly with a DS3, I would've thought. But remember some of these guys here aren't human... ;)

Small improvement for me after 10 more laps...

T1: 15.988
T2: 41.545
T3: 1'02.907

Much neater through 1st sector, slightly slower through 2 and 3 but a step in the right direction at least.

First splits from me for week two. Only managed to run 15 or so laps with this combo, but loving it already!

15.858
41.324
1.02.353

Very enjoyable combo but somehow far less gratifying than last weeks Comaro madness when you nail a good lap or even just get a tricky corner right

Slight improvement:

T1: 16.198
T2: 25.282
T3: 1'02.739

T1: 16.198
T2: 41.480
T3: 1'02.739

Wait for the replays and try to learn from them. My times in week 1 were mediocre compared to those of the top drivers, but I still improved over the week.

For week 1 I downloaded a replay from the online time trial. Although different cars were used, they still had to go on comfort tyres. That and lots of mileage helped me to improve.

Since there's nothing to win in this competition let's just try and have fun! :)
