Hmmm, I wasn't really interested at this combo... until I tried it! Really starting to like it.

15.543
40.415
1'01.185

Just checking, but did you make sure the Skid Recovery Force was off for your run? I believe it's on by default when picking the combo in Arcade Mode.

lol yes it is off. And strangely enough, mine is set to off by default. If I choose Arcade Mode from the first first menu (the one with the weird white/Honda CR-Z background) and then choose Trial Mountain with the Supra, put Racing Medium and racing, this is ok?

BTW, I'm div 1. silver after all! :sly:

Fun car/course combo!

I guess I need to drive a bit more aggressively, I haven't had much trouble making clean laps, but I'm definitely lagging behind here.

T1: 17.827
T2: 45.133
T3: 1.07.745

Ah, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak!! Shoveling all this snow has destroyed my shoulder, and I can barely drive my truck, let alone log my usual hour after hour on another WRS combo. And the Academy starts tomorrow! But this suits my style, so I couldn't resist a few laps to log in a time. Awesome job again, Kevin!!!
T1: 15.832
T2: 41.330
T3: 1'02.398

I probably won't get to run much more, but my speed at start line was 145 m.p.h., and I tried a couple of times, but couldn't do it again. Maybe at the end of the week I'll try again.

Wow. Even Mr P is here!

My first dig at the mountain.
Lots of room for improvement in there, but 'cause it's a big track (and it's me driving, lots of room for mistakes too ha ha!!)
Good fun all the same.

T1: 17.145
T2: 44.309
T3: 1'06.030

T1: 16.717
T2: 42.297
T3: 1'03.468

I'm loving this combo, great job mods. I have a lot of room to gain, atleast a second overall, probably more. Left 5 tenths in T1 compared to lap before. Right now I'm just trying to get comfortable with racing line and breaking points.

You want to be on 230km/h going over the start line.

Something interesting i just discovered, YES i just tried it.
I was wondering how you would get to 230 - 240 at the start finish line as i was about 15 km/h short, so i thought if i cut the chicane before the start / finish, i could get speed up to do it and have a faster start to my lap, RIGHT??
WRONG, DEAD WRONG, even though i know cutting the track on a lap is outside the rules, i thought i would be ok if it was the lap before BUT as i discovered, even though i can complete the lap and indeed it is faster, i can't save them to submit as the lap i was on when i cut the corner and also the lap after was deemed by the GT gods to not count.
Not saying anyone is following this practice BUT a word to the wise if you are considering it, DON'T!
As i said, i dont cheat, but i thought if it was the lap before it would be OK.
I WAS WRONG!!!

Cheers All !!!

..... and make a complete mockery of your divisional placing..... another second off your time puts you firmly on Div 1 Gold pace.

How on earth can you be so fast, yet be Div 5?

How many laps of Trial Mountain in the Supra have you done with your League?

In answer to your question I did about 300 laps practice and have some of australias quickest racers available to learn from.

Trial mountain is an original track so theres no issue for me in terms of knowing the lines and the car is one of the best to drive.
I may be in Div 5 , but theres a big difference between the ring and TM.

You can get 230+ km/h without cheating, it's just nailing the correct entry speed, then floor it, without getting your car on two wheels from the last part of the chicane, when tires are warmed up, you can be almost at 210 km/h for the final stretch. I'm personally having a much harder time maintaining this speed into T1-next-lap without flying all over the place :)

Well I had the best start to a lap I have ever had and stacked it.
Had a T1.15:663, T2 41:023

Then screwed at the bottom of the mountain.
I almost threw the DFGT threw the window.
Have not been able to get close since.

OK, I am struggling to get decent time here.
I thought it was the track / car combo last week, so i thought MEH, leave it til next week, it'll get better . . . IT HASN'T!!
I need help, i am a DS3 user, so what can i adjust / tweak to help me?
You guys are ALREADY in the low 16s - mid 15s for T1, i can't even break the 17s barrier??
HELP A ROOKIE OUT!!!!!!

Cheers All!!!

Personally, I've changed the control layout. I've got l2 and r2 as brake and accelerator. That way, they aremore sensitive to use rather than X and Square.
Also, try adjusting the Controller Steering Sensitivity setting. I have mine set to 7, makes it very quick reactions as to when you slap the stick from left to right.
Lastly, set up the controls so that you can also get into the Realtine Adjustment menu from the DS3. Then you can adjust the brake balance on the supra. Helps with understate in this particular combo!

Hope this helps you mate! 👍

Yes, oh yes. That's the WRS experience. Over three years ago I had a top five overall time at Autumn Ring and slowed down before the line so I wouldn't have a dirty ghost. I was barely able to run top twenty, with only twenty-one racers, at the time and thought the start was dirty. I went back and watched the replay, and it was CLEAN!!! I never touched the time again, and to this day I can re-live virtually every turn of that track at any time, but I still screw up that one corner. We humans seem to be our own worst enemy sometimes, and that damn ghost just won't cut us any slack!!

Oh, I checked my speed at the line, and it was 143 m.p.h., not 145.

@ BloodiMayhem: I would be willing to bet that you are carrying too much speed into the entry of corners, therefore not getting enough speed on exit. Slow down, and you'll go faster!!
RACE ON!!

Regarding split posting

Hey Guys,

The board has just been updated, i've pushed 2 changes through:

1) The split posting has changed so that we can just post the sector times without the need to calculate the splits.

The format stays exactly the same, but now you can just use the sector times. So now you can just post like this:

T1: 0'16.536
T2: 0'26.565
T3: 0'21.449

2) It is not needed to have the 'PSN: GTP_Joost' in your profile. The board now extracts your username from the post and cross references this with the official registry. So it's enough if your username is correct in the official registry thread.

Joost

Nice one Joost. 👍

It's small things like this that make the experience all the better.

Cheers Shaun.

Good deal, Joost!! No going to the Time Calculator site. Hopefully, this will be the case each time.

You do a heck of a job with that board!!

I'm new here and just want to say that you, EDT, Vaxen and the mods run a tight ship! Totally impressed!

Does this mean those that post the T1, T2, T3 times added up will fall rather dramatically on the leaderboard until they update? Seems there's one there now that's been calculated like this and is +58 seconds from top time ;)

Thanks guys :)

@cairnz: yes, that is correct :)

All the historical posted splits are still ok, it's just that from now on they need to be sector times.

 That chicane is great aint it?

Nice one mate :) This looks very familiar :dopey:

Well heres a few pics of mine to go along with a little story lol I'm Sure many others are familiar with!

"YES YES YES!" I cheered In elation as I came across the line, crushing my previous best lap time by over a second and a half!

"I must go share these with the guys at GTP!, Oh I better double check the replay is clean, that last corner was a bit swirly!!"

T1: 15.759
T2: 25.050
T3: 20.989

:ouch:

Was so upset after seeing this, I checked it from about 30 different angles it is SO GODDAMN CLOSE.

As you can see from the second pic I got fairly airborn but apart from the pic showing the 3 wheels off that was as close as it ever got, I even managed to control it and not hit the wall after getting that air and still cross the line with an awesome time.

I think with those splits it would have put me in the top 10 for sure.

At least I know to always check the replays first, i was about 10secs from posting the splits before i checked the replay!

Do you all attack the final corner so brutally? I'm barely up on the curb in that corner, maybe I'm being to cautious.

I try to make the inner wheels barely hit the curb too, i find it too easy to hit the wall if i go at it too hard, but then again i try to "smooth" my way through there to hit 230-232 km/h crossing the line.

Splits after my first hour.

16.109
25.456
21.010

I don't attack the corner like that but sometimes I end up a bit too far to the left when entering the chicane.

Fun combo, Kevin. 👍

I prefer to start the lap on that corner,Others may be a bit more cautious and are able make it up better than me going into the tunnel.
Get the line right on going into the tunnel and going left on the long straight with a good exit are big time gainers.
Last corner is the other one.
