I seem to have completely forgotten that 11:59 PM is actually 10:59 on my end so I got thrown off by the timezone. Also what are "Banker laps?"

Well first off, the deadline is 8:00PM - unless you're talking about your time zone.

A banker lap is a lap you get earlier, that your reasonably happy with and submit, that way whether you forget, or don't run anymore, etc, it's already submitted.
The gain is if you do happen to improve, you can simply submit again and fetchy will update your time, and if you change your mind, you can remove your submitted time also. So you have nothing to lose from a banker lap.
