May I ask which combo you are driving this week? :scared::crazy:

Great to see a fellow country man completely dominating the leader board these days. 👍
Thanks,
T1: 57.969

Finally managed to had my new mail accepted by the forum and can start posting again :ouch:

Made a first attempt three days ago and couldn´t even finish a single time :dunce:

After another session yesterday the best lap had this split

T1: 59.630

but already seen a 59.2xx so a lot to improve yet :sly:

With all the sun outside a bit crazy this week and the rain :dopey:

I may be sitting this week out unless I have a miracle.
I'm not coming close to competitive times like usual.
It's really testing my patience.
Played for about 2 hours and had 1 almost decent lap.:grumpy:
But I am still going to keep on trucking.
Good luck to all this week, it sure is a challenge.

It's as if i'm reading my post back to myself :).

Frustrating week, I agree.
But this totally helped me:

For what it's worth I ran ABS 10 and BB 0/0, first tried AS strong, then improved with AS off, just like always.

Nothing unusual with the settings. I use 2nd gear for 1 corner, 4th gear for 2 corners and 3rd gear for the rest. You figure out which corners.;)
I wasn't sure about CSLACR's brake setup mostly because it seems to read - no brake pressure, and ABS 10 means the car will stop somewhere around... France.
And I honestly didn't believe w-g-e's quote at first, just seemed so.... WT:censored:? He can't be serious?
But it definitely helped.
I'd offer my own advice, but theirs is way better 👍.

Good luck

For what it's worth, I changed it to 8/7 BB and ABS:2, and improved drastically, using Wes' awesome gear selection advice, which I forgot to thank him for, really helps pulling through corners being in third. 👍

I'm in, sorry I've missed the last 5 odd weeks, busy with studies and moving house.
Been waiting for you, it is the Nurburgring after all. :D
Can't wait to see what you can do here.

... it's been a long 4-5 weeks without having access to PS3/GT5 and this is a rough combo to knock the dust off with, but it's great to be back at the wheel. First splits:

T1: 1'00:386

Hopefully I can join the under one minute club shortly as I left a lot out on the track. Haven't gotten close to optimal gear shifts, seems to be the most difficult skill for me to shake the cobwebs from... so that's the next area of focus.

Just goes to show what a fickle week it is this week. You're 6 hundredths ahead of me at the T1 split, and I'm using Abs 1 and BB at 2/0. So is Matt and he's 6 hundredths in front of you.

There is clearly some space-time continuum in one of the corners as I'll make three runs in a row and they'll all feel the same but be up to 1 second difference at the bridge :odd:

At the same time, Wes is shaving off a thousandth here and there and running over a second quicker again. I'm doing something wrong somewhere but can't for the life of me figure out what - it's crtainly not the gear selection as I was already using those gears. Just must be the brake the steering or the throttle then...or maybe the line

How did I know that was coming? Nice entry, T13R. 👍

Cool, welcome back guys! Racing on! (somebody had to say it...):sly:

New splits.

T1: 59.289

I hope everyone is having fun learning the techniques and rules necessary to drive the hallowed Nurburgring safely.:)

Well I shaved about 1.2 in my second session, I'm pretty sure a higher BB is still faster here, despite being locked, it's some magic, I ran a 58.8, I'm expecting to get mid 58's if all goes well, it seems there are magical lines, if you hit them, you get a great time, if you miss, you probably hit a wall, and it looks like you should have went 10mph slower into the corner.:scared:

Hopefully I'll pull myself away from DTM cars to get some decent time in on this one, don't like being over a full second behind.

I've just submitted my best time with T1: 0'59.469

I have seen a better T1 on only a few occasions (.2s, but mostly .3s), but .5 seems to be my comfort zone. Pretty pleased with T2, but the final results will tell how bad or good it really is. I'll be on Holiday for a fortnight from tomorrow, so if I have to submit a replay, it will have to wait until I get back on the F1 Spa weekend.

Good luck to all, this has been the best combo evah! 👍

I'm sitting this one out this week, and no, not because of the rain.
I don't pick and choose like that.

With my computer hard-drive going down, having to restore installed programs I lost, producing the podium replays, plus the Madden '12 demo release, my main game, not to mention work, GT5 seat time this week has been nil.

This will also be true, as well, for the rest of the year. I will be running often, it's just that seat-time will diminish and the learning curve will be prolonged, not that it was getting easier. I will continue to keep up with the NTSC replays as best I can.

Good luck to all this week. I might try to get one lap in if I can produce the sector in a non-laughable time!

WRS is great!

Sorry to go off topic here, but it needs to be said.
Madden '12 demo is.....awesome!
Running, movement, running, tackles, and running are so fluid.
The hurdle is beast now!

P.S. If you ever want to play '11 online, if I have the time I'm always game.;)

Back on topic, I've been giving some more effort and my next step is taking AS off.
Thanks to the others that shined some tips on my world.
Hopefully I'll be getting a time in this week.

Thanks,
T1: 57.969

Holy 🤬🤬🤬!
And you refer to others as Aliens? You're actually frightening me 👍

First three attempts gave me this
1'00.253

And I'm at .254........not sure I can live with that without giving it another shot even if it destroys my sanity (the bit that's left :P).
We really need a smiley in a straight jacket this week.

pff, I almost lost it this week, all my runs were over 1.01.4xx
Finally i improved in 1 run

59.945

And the sun ripped the clouds wide open! (not really, the weather's terrible here).

^^^ Welcome to the Club. 👍 The I-glady-beat-my-head-against-the-wet-tarmac-till-I-beat-60sec Club, of course.

CSL's and Carlos's talk of a magic line fits in with the in-game description of the challenge, where it talks about parts of the track being more slippery than others.

EDIT: I'm about 3hrs into this one, 50/50 on DS3 and DFGT, and while I had frustrating moments, this is still really fun, and I'll be gunning for a better time this weekend.
The DS3 is a little easier for some parts, like the high speed turns, but the DFGT is much easier for precision, like on Hatzenbach (early fast left to slow right, before
the triple esses). AS Strong on the DFGT ruins the floaty steering, though, so I turned it off.

Some of the times are ridiculously good!
No improvement on my time so I'll have to give up for this week.
I won't get a chance to play until Sunday evening and I just can't see myself improving on my time.

Has anyone found their Ps3 overheating since the last firmware upgrade? mines turned into an oven. Ran for about an hour and turned it off due to it being noisy and hot. I have a slim one, 250gb

no improvement today despite many attempts! best i got was 59.2s :banghead:

My fatty hasn't really been that warm, one day when it was pretty hot outside it made some more noise but that's it.

Not hot here, but humid, wet & cloudy. Not enough really to warrant it. it has NEVER made that much noise before or been that hot, I've just been pedantically cleaning out the vents to see if it makes a difference and I made it little corner edge-stands to lift it off the shelf :D

How did I know that was coming? Nice entry, T13R. 👍
Thanks Gravitron, you don't have a shabby T1 either 👍 I had a quick 15 minute session on Tuesday, but I didn't have a chance to look at the replay to properly note down the T1, I was sitting on a 1'00.3xx but didn't post.

Yesterday I had a nice 45 minute session that made me understand what lines to take. Now I just need to find a way to increase cornering speed a little more while not spinning the wheels too much to maintain momentum and I think a sub 59 will be possible with some luck!

On a side note, I was reflecting on the impact the WRS had on me so far... If I compare my current time with my first "gold" time, I'm almost 5 seconds faster. It's crazy.

I can improve my T2 but the sub 1 min club seems imposible to achieve :( Maybe I'll listen to the tutorial :dunce:

Gaaah! I'm missing something.... over a second off the pace and can't improve my 1st sector at all. Without a ghost to chase I have no idea where I'm going wrong.

59.126

Up 0.3 at the line but all in sector 2 of course. Not enjoying this week as much as I thought I would.
