Really enjoyable combo. Am concentrating too much on a decent T1 and am then braking too late into the hairpin at the start of T2 and hitting the wall :(

First splits.

T1: 24.029
T2: 21.998

It took me 16 laps to get a clean lap that I could use! :(

The start of the rumble strip on the left is a handy braking point guide. Neither of the signs are in good spots.

After some careful and timely analisis I finally understood the title .
After I get a new TV, I'll try to take part in this awesome looking combo 👍.

Great name for this week.

Not sure if I'm enjoying the combo though.
I feel that I'm now on a first name basis with every wall in Rome.
Well said. The walls have magnets in them. I'm sure of it!

T1: 24.037
T2: 21.730

This car-track-tyres combo was more like ds3 drivers go buy a wheel...

All my testing is done with a wheel, so this certainly can put DS3 users at a disadvantage, at times.

Mainly, I just try to change things up, so far in GT5 WRS -

None of the cars or tracks were available in Prologue

One World circuit, one Original Circuit, one City Course

One week with N tires, one week with Race Tires, one week with Sports tires.

One road car, one race car, one tuner car

One week with tuning, 2 weeks without tuning

2 FR drivetrains and 1 AWD drivetrain

That means you can expect to see some MR cars and FF cars in the coming weeks. Along with a range of HP.

So far, these have been difficult combos in general, there will be some easier ones later.

As for the walls, see my comments in the first post. Wait to get back on the gas a little longer than you think you need to. I had to run about 10 laps in testing to get a clean one, but once you find the marks for braking and throttle input, it's a smooth and flowing combo.

I submitted my time to the fetchbot and it said it "Your submitted time for week 3 has been rejected as the deadline has passed." That was quick. :-)

Updated splits:
T1: 23.895
T2: 21.284

More to come....

24.155
21.993

Only did a couple laps with the DS3. I mainly wanted to post this crazy picture. I can't believe how the wheel is turning around the geometry of the corner, and it really never hit!

First 15 laps, and holy power understeer batman. Not fun with a DS3 at the moment.

T1: 24.056
T2: 21.757

(P.S. The OP still says we can post T3 times ;) )

T1: 24.396
T2: 21.906

First crack at it.

Doesn't the green count as going on the run off of the course? I am curious only because so far, I have fought not to even touch the green portion of the course. I am not trying to call you out Apollo33, I just would like some clarification myself.

All hard surfaces are track. Plus, you only have to have 2 wheels on track, so the track surface part of the photo would be fine.

However, I would not necessarily agree with the assessment that it's not a touch, it's probably an invisiwall.

Honestly, I don't think an advantage can be gained by using the green parts. It was in the other direction, but the first round of GTA would have allowed us to run there, and the top times weren't doing it.

Based on what we saw at Cape Ring, they would have been doing it if it had made them faster.

I LIKE this one! Early splits...with a DS3 and not my wheel.

T1: 24.921
T2: 22.166

It's okay to be amazed by the magic!! If you're really interested I can send you the replay. There was no sound or drop in speed. But it's not like I'll be submitting it, it was just a ds3 run.

I was working on the Vettel challenges just before I started on this. First turn drove straight into the wall... lol. Took about 4-5 laps to shakedown the understeer but got into a nice fifteen lap cruise after that. And I don't recall who it was that mentioned all the different lines out there but you hit the nail on the head with that one.

I understand, I'm mainly trying to ward off people thinking it's simply OK to be that close. If you haven't already, I would load that lap in the data logger to see if there's a noticeable bip in speed at that point.

No it's alright Apollo33, I rather not watch your replay since I will learn the combination over the week to come. Thanks though.

Already did :). I wish we had slow-motion 'cause it seems like it must go through the wall at some point and the collision detection just isn't fine enough.

Edit: btw I didn't offer to send shig my replay. But his comment made me realize I shouldn't have offered it to edk. Whoops.

I don't think an advantage can be gained by using the green parts.
If you use the green part of the last curve, going very close to the wall on the left, you'll gain exit speed there and as result when you start a lap your starting speed will be faster.

+1 👍
