Oops outside the white track boundry line was my fastest lap too, deleted replay so try and do it again :grumpy:

Don't think I'm going to get anywhere near that time again.

Phillip.

At the hammerhead there is a white line which can't be a corner boundary, everyone goes over that in real life and there's no cone there.
On all my runs I've went wide there, I hope it doesn't make my lap dirty because frankly - I'm not running this event again then.

Due to standard WRS rule of "if you're not 100% sure that your lap is clean then consider it dirty" I'm considering my current splits dirty as of now.
I'll get going to try and re-do it with a clean hammerhead and do a better T1.

I'm gutted to say the least.

E, suggest you do as others have done in the past, post a picture of your run at the area in question and get the opinions of the team 👍

I really have no clue how you guys get in the 54's.

 Thought it was just me Christophe! Glad I'm not alone...

I refuse to go take pictures of every corner for this track because it turns what was a 1 hour job into 2 or 2 1/2 hours. So instead, I got in another session of week 41 and beat my prior best by 0.5. :)

This rule refers to the dashed, combined white and orange stripes that are in the actual corners.

Tarmac Outside of the White and Orange Painted Corner Boundaries is not Track.

Such as those on both sides of the Kart in this pic.

Your pic is within the rules, I hope you kept the replay.

I'm a bit confused with all the different lines. Is this clean or dirty?

That line is orange and white, on the exit of a corner. Beyond that line is out of bounds.

I tried to keep this sooo 🤬 simple.

Don't drive on grass
Don't hit stuff
Don't cross the boundary lines in the corners, that are conveniently colored orange and white, unlike all the other crazy lines all over the track.

AND, the game red clocks you for almost everything stupid you can do.

I'm starting to get the hang of it...Still, a long way to go.

At the hammerhead there is a white line which can't be a corner boundary....

Which white line? Please post a pic of your 'cutting'

I decided to take a break from Skyrim and had a quick go at this last night. Got a few good sector times despite not getting a clean lap in - seem magnetically attracted to the cones. But I'm not cutting across any of the lines, red/white or otherwise, save for the usual two wheels over thing.

Not sure if I'll find the time to get a decent session in yet but best sectors so far are 33.356 and 20.530 :)

Not sure how, but I missed this bit earlier.

Are you talking about the white line on the right behind the Kart in this pic?

GT5 red clocks you when you cross that line there Kevin.
Not sure which lines they mean. I stay within all white lines to be sure.

Yep, that's what people who are not trying to find an unfair advantage will do.

New splits:

T1: 33.532
T2: 20.941

My best T1 so far. Unfortunately I was a bit too cautious in the last corner.

No Kevin deleted as my rules are different to yours and WRS, if I'm outside the white boundary lines it’s not good enough for my standard of racing.

If I can't put in a good lap time keeping within the track I do it again, I may get a little close at times, but not often. No matter if the time is slower or faster I'll try again for the same time but within the lines this time.

Nice combo Kevin, it’s a challenge to control the rear end flat out.

Energizerrr

Take no notice of my post it has no connection to the rules of WRS, as I didn't ask if it was clean or dirty which I would not normaly do, it's not up for Discussion by anyone, only work on what is posted in the rules, this lap was not good enough for me, as I saw from the replay I was outside the track line, although that is acceptable within the WRS rules.

Sorry if it confused anyone, I’ll refrain from posting.

Phillip.

No Kevin, not that line.
I'll post pic later.

Here you go:

:scared:

We've talked about this.

We don't think there's a particular advantage to be gained, and it complies with the rules as originally posted and clarified, so it's clean.

Thank you sir!
:D

A big weight fell off my chest.

Respect for that. 👍

I think to ensure the (relative) sanity of our race steward it's probably better to not use the test track in future WRSs.

Nice constitution you hold your self to there "DD" 👍 If you apply that school of thought to a real race car it will always keep you safe as you would always have a cushion left if you ever got off line.

 I know, I subject myself to the abuse, and yet I find my way back here. That must be evidence of my insanity.

I've thought about doing the boundary pics, but it's a pretty overwhelming undertaking. Something along the lines of what I had to do for the La Sarthe week, if not more intense. I did them that week because the combo was so difficult, and it really mattered.

I'm not so sure that's the case here...........

There's only 1 more thing - at the last corner there is a broken line after the red/white corner line, in theory you could go and do an incredibly dirty ending but it would still be clean.
I refuse to do that, although if I did it'd get me at least 0.1.

I guess what it comes down to, is something I've posted before when people start to look for every conceivable boundary to push.

How do you want to be viewed by your fellow competitors?

As someone with a "win at all costs" mentality, who pushes the envelope at every chance, stepping over the line with frequency?

Or as someone who always works to play within the rules as they understand them, and uses a rule set they believe would be deemed fair by all?

We rule that you only have to have 2 wheels on track. Does that mean you should drive around the whole track with only 1 inch of 2 wheels on the entire time?

I'm just not going to get into this ticky tack minutia, with people trying to get me to give them the green light to exploit every possible loophole.

Good explanation Kevin, understood.
Anyways, had another go at this, seen a few .3xx at T1 but failed to string a lap together.
Fastest T1 so far was 33.342...I wonder how much time is left in that T1...:scared:
