Fastest T1 so far was 33.342...I wonder how much time is left in that T1...:scared:

I've done a couple of 33.2s now, the best being 33.281 - can't nail Hammerhead after one of those yet and am already bored of doing red-clocked laps 4 out of 5 times :dopey: Or hitting a cone somewhere...

Got a clean lap in though finally but made a huge mess of Hammerhead and was too cautious through the last corner:

33.375
20.647

Nice T1 there.

Hammerhead is a real killer, lost me many amazing T1s there.
I'll study a line and then I'll have another go. 👍

Thanks E 👍 I really really hate this track... :sly: But the kart is so addictive, I can't stop. Best 1st sector is now 33.240 but I still can't follow it up - always cut hammerhead too much with a nervous twitch

Got a better lap in though:

33.388
20.537

Looking for about 2 tenths on the lap now I think. Madly frustrating and addictive combo Kev

This will be a great event to make my return.
Have fun everyone.

Welcome back - great week for a return. 👍

Had another go, no success.
Did a new PB T2 of 20.541 but never seem to string 3xx T1 with 5xx T2.
The problem with T1 is that, with kart you have to turn-in really early and really nail the apex to get the max outta it, and the tire-wall at Chicago doesn't help at all.
It's basically hit and miss for T1, and hit and hope for T2.
I know that I've left 0.2 on the track, but I doubt I'll be able to catch them.

Great splits again Vaga. 👍

My PS3 slim that replaced my fat may have just bit the BlueRay big one. It can't access my drive w/ the disk in it to start the game so now I can't get to my replay for last week as well as my current fast time ghost, any suggestions ????

I atleast have my old PS3 fat that I gave to Little to fall back on but my filse are kidnaped :banghead:

I was really surprised to get these splits, and then was too slow through the final turn.

33.481
20.827

Man now that my slim is on strike I'll have to prove the old addage "If ya can do er once ya can do ur again"

That final turn is quite tricky, started to touch grass and spin out there recently.

I'm convinced my fastest time is dirty (out of red and white in last corner), but the one with submitted splits is clean.

Phillip I think you are going to far for your own rules, the white lines on the track are not all for the track, but some are there to guide the Aircraft! Keep cool man.

Other techniques that I found to be unsuccessful:

Went karting yesterday (for real). The smoke in GT5 when you spin out is more realistic :), but the smell of burned rubber is still better in real life.

Been a while, but figured i'd give this a go tonight. Will probably be my final splits as well though. Time these days is hard to come by....

T1: 33.257
T2: 20.482

Great combo, loved driving it. It was bloody addictive, there is a lot of grip to find out there that's for sure. By the way, my lap was 2 wheels within the confines of the white lines (as per racing rules at most places) but with rule loopholes (using outside hard surfaces) you could probably go 0.2 faster over a lap. ;)

Nice to see you, Mad. 👍 Don't be a stranger.

Been a while.....

I've not spoken to you before I don't think but welcome back  Thanks for knocking me off the top by the way 👍 I was getting vertigo....

It always gets me how you D1G guys can start off at the times it takes me all week to reach. And then get even faster :scared: :P Nice opening splits 👍

You too Lucas, fantastic mate 👍 I love the pattern there with D2/D3 :P

Good to see you back Chris!

Sorry Christophe - didn't mean to be ignorant. Yeah I thought I'd pop back in for a blast in the kart and take a rest from killing dragons. Skyrim has been sucking away all my gaming time but I couldn't resist a bash at this week. :)

Haha, just had one of the worst scenarios happen...
Beat my time by 0.006 and didn't leave to save replay, then I had a 54.005 T2 and 0.2 faster overall time but I went over the white/red line in the last corner, and the dirty lap overwrote my clean 0.006 faster lap.
:grumpy:

Starting to lose it at Chicago, enough for today me thinks...

But the gut-turning feeling of seeing a near-perfect lap go away...ewww, horrible. :yuck:
Good thing is that it wasn't a 33.3xx T1, or else there would be :banghead:.

Mad is our resident teenage phenom, and runs Karts in RL. He used to kick all of our asses using his DFGT mounted to an old skateboard while sitting on his bed. He's moved on to kicking the world's ass in iRacing, it's nice to see him pop in on occasion. :)

 Haha, awesome. 👍 Looks like it was the kart that lured him back for this week then.

Thanks Chris, and nice to see you back, slaying this little dragon of a combo. ;)

With my bad T3, I'm afraid Paul still has a good chance to jump ahead of me, with his current splits. :ouch:

Hi Madison long time no see, looks like your getting slow in your old age lol, come back for a week or two, I’ll get you back up to speed. :sly:

Nice to see you mate.

Phillip.

This combo is driving me crazy, literally.
So, before I go insane I'll submit, horrible really.
Left at least 0.3 on the track (from my personal best), not happy at all with my performance.

Seem to be getting the hang of T1

33.483
20.921

now just have to get the rest together

Not going to be able to run this, waiting for a Wheelstandpro to arrive (Have finally conceded that a deconstructed laptop desk really does not work...) - hoping that my terrible practical skills can work out how to attach the standard fanatec pedals to it :\

Shame, sounds like a blast.

With my bad T3, I'm afraid Paul still has a good chance to jump ahead of me, with his current splits. :ouch:

That last corner is an absolute ***t to nail after a good T2 split.... I've crossed the line sideways so many times :P Keep running mate - you'll get it 👍

....not happy at all with my performance.

Still running 3rd overall mate - hardly a total loss :)

Nice T1 Vince - good step up. Feels sweet when you nail that 1st sector just right. 👍

Not going to be able to run this...
Shame, sounds like a blast.

Yeah it is a shame Matt - its a real fun combo. The kart is just crazy :dopey:

Slight improvement for me:

33.311
20.615

Still looking for 2 tenths. Best 1st sector now a 33.208 and 2nd sector 20.512 but suffering the usual lack of consistency. Very clean lap though so it will be my banker. :)

Finally....
Was about to give up, but after an awful number of laps on this combo, I have at last been able to get some decent times, that I am not to embarrassed to post... :ouch:

T1: 34.165
T2: 21.056

Not top D2/3-times, but at least pretty decent for D4.. :D
