You in for the long haul then Chuk? :P Another nice step. 👍

37.662
38.821

Best 2nd sector so far by over a tenth but lost half a tenth in sector 1 and then spun the rears up exiting the last corner and lost a tenth there.... looking for about 0.25 on the lap now I think.

I've got a question for Kevin.

Now that we have the ability to change wheels on standard cars, is it permissible?

The laps I posted were using the stock wheels.

Not sure it would offer an advantage, just not clear about this new option and the rules.

No issue with changing wheels. It doesn't affect performance, even if the comments in the GT Auto section where you buy them seems to indicate they might.

I do wonder why you would want to, though. :sly:

37.702
38.686

Lost the plot a bit through sector 1 but steamed sector 2.... better last corner too. Looking for 0.2 in sector 1 then I'm done I think. Great sessions this evening.... top combo Kevin 👍

39.758
41.813

38.858
41.378

I really do not like this track :yuck: But the good news is there is a lot of room for improvement.

Great combo, thanks:tup:

First splits.

T1 39.069
T2 40.672

Well done, mate!! 👍👍
I have to admit that equipment is affecting my performance now. My trusty DFP has literally a 1,000,000 miles on it, and it shows. After trying Jake's G27, and Kenny's DFGT, I know the time has come to upgrade. Still, those are just some blazing splits!!! Still, I'm the Chukabilly, therefore....

RACING ON!!!

39.546
40.451

Improvement largely due to Vagabond's tune (Chris, right?), thanks 👍

I've quietly put over 300miles in on this one so far, and finally have a clean lap to report. Phew! Thanks Chris for the tune. 👍 All DS3 so far, can't wait to do 300 more with my wheel!

38.350
39.900

I don't know where to post this so I just picked the current WRS thread.
The 2.02 update notice states that you can now buy rims for standard cars:

Continuing the improvement of standard cars since the addition of simplified interior views in the 2.00 update, wheels of standard cars can now be changed.
Select the desired wheels for your car in GT Auto, to make your car lighter and improve the styling.

This seems important for WRS stewarding so I thought I'd mention it here.

300 miles = Almost 100 laps!!!!! :boggled: talk about keen.
nice times though 👍

I went out with a standard car and bought every type of rim available.
Compared the weight each time in the car's specs and it didn't change with neither type of rim.
I guess it's more to improve the styling then...

Are you? Really! I have been 100% certain that your name was chukability. Now that is really strange.

Yes, I am the one and only CHUKABILLY. However, chukability is the capacity to keep on driving, even if you don't think you can go any faster. I'm not the only one with that!

My first go behind the wheel of this BEAST!!

T1 39.752
T2 41.371

First sector, fairly happy for a starting point.
Second sector . . . . work in progress!

Nice Combo Kev!

Cheers All !!!

My mew splits. Big thanks to Vagabond and mcfizzle for the tuning as i am next to hopeless with tuning. Im more of a get in and drive person. Anyway here are my splits.

39.156
39.672

Had a quick nap, and back on the track. Latest splits:
T1: 38.088
T2: 39.729

I'll be working on the second sector today. The grip level of these tires is just so much that I'm still trying to adjust to it. The ghost and I go back and forth, so I know there's more time in there, I just have to do it!!

Racing On!

Nice step in sector 1 Chuk 👍 Sub-38 next....

Oh and in the new wheel stakes, don't forget Fanatec as an option. Fantastically smooth FFB and the Clubsport pedals are the business.

Improvement largely due to Vagabond's tune (Chris, right?), thanks 👍

Yep that's me :) And you're welcome.

No problem, I'm hopeless with tuning also but took most of that from a tuning forum tune and made a few changes. No clue if it is actually good but it's the only one I've been fast with.👍

Edit: Are you guys installing chassis reinforcement? I ask this almost every time in a car like this. I'm just so reluctant to do it and make the car worse.

I won't move quickly to install the chassis reinforcement 'cause, IMO, a chassis needs some flex for optimum grip.
A too stiff chassis makes the inside rear wheel come loose more quickly.
Do correct me if I'm wrong...

New Splits:

T1: 38.224
T2: 39.787

I feel like I'm losing a lot of time at the loop, just can't figure out how much throttle to give while going around it. I am starting to get more consistant though and putting up some 38.0xx T1's just can't string it all together yet. Hoping to have some chuckability to help post faster times.:sly:

T1: 38.162
T2: 39.371

I'm happy with that but still tons of time to be found or had, lost, and need to find again.

New splits using Vagabond's tune. Not sure it suits me though. Was a struggle to get this.

39.385
40.470

Will see if I can tweak it next time.

I saw someone say that if you install the chassis reinforcement, it allows you to run a softer suspension setup. If you tune the suspension without the chassis reinforcement, then add it, it will throw everything off. I'm not a tuner and don't have the time or patience to learn, so I'm not sure what difference a stiffer chassis and softer suspension would make.

I run with chassis reinforcement. It's something I've always done, so I really don't know how much of a difference it makes. It does make sense that it would allow a softer suspension, though.
I've biffed a few 37.xxx in T1, but I'm not sure about hitting a 38 in T2. Getting closer.
T1: 38.020
T2: 39.434

It looks like it's going to be a tight race in D2 this week!! Scott, you're giving me all I can handle!! 👍 Back to the track!

Awesome time with a controller, Gooners!! Very fast! 👍

You are right Chuk, it's going to be a great D2 race this week based on whats happened so far. This is why it's great having you back, we did a lot of this back and forth matching times in D3.👍 It's part of what motivates me to get faster. I don't think I will stay nearly that high up on the board when I look at the gap between us and Chris but I also know I have faster laps ahead of me and hope I can compete for a D2 podium. Great time Gooners, by the way, I have so much respect for anyone who competes with a DS3 and then be that fast blows my mind. I'm getting comfortable with it but what's going to hurt me is I have tomorrow then I leave Friday morning to be with family, dang holidays getting in the way of race time. I may have time Monday but I'm usually far off my pace when I have a few days off.

Edit: I installed the chassis reinforcement before I posted that time.

My 1st go and lots of time to gain. Just want to get on the leaderboard!

Yup, it's good to be back and I am hoping for a podium finish, too!

Finally!
T1: 37.862
T2: 39.545

I lost a lot in the loop, but still got a full tenth off my total time. Time for a break.
