Going well Chuk 👍

Managed to get 45 minutes on this last night and had a blast. I'm using Chris' set-up (thanks mate 👍) with some very minor changes and just kept throwing laps down. Unfortunately, it's been so long since I've ran WRS in anger that I forgot to save any replays. When I did remember and wanted to save a clean lap, it was slower than a dirty lap that I did earlier (minor wall tap) so it wouldn't let me save it :ouch: Would've been a good lap as well (1:18.0xx to T2) but I got a massive tank slapper out of the last corner when I got greedy with the rumble.

Will be running for a couple of hours tonight hopefully so will be looking to repeat that lap (minus tank slapper ) and get some splits on the board 👍, although it seems Chuk and Scott have moved the game on some - will have to try and keep up...

Creeping up there Chuk lad 👍

I'm having a day of mixed splits and inconsistency.... did a 1st sector of 37.431 earlier but then stuffed it in surprise. As usual, my best 1st and 2nd sectors don't seem to want to be together in the same lap but faster is faster:

37.723
38.601

Best 2nd sector so far, rubbish 1st sector (relatively :sly:) and lost some in the last corner so up a huge 0.04 at the line. :P

Looking for 0.4 on the lap apparently....

39.114
40.757

Gained a bit over a tenth on the whole lap. Like many of you, I am having trouble putting the best splits together...

T1: 38.199
T2: 39.260

After I put this down found another 2 tenths in T1, just can't make it work consistantly and when I do I mess up somewhere else. I nailed the curb of the final right hander at the end of T2 on this lap, the car just absolutely sailed through the air and had to of cost me a little time. Only netted me .03 at the line over previous best though.

Thanks for posting the tunes! Helped me get a little more.

T1 38.683
T2 40.145

First 2hrs on the wheel, liking this even more. 👍 Looks like I matched Chuk's T2. :D I then chased this new ghost for a while and I think my limit will be somewhere around 37.9 for T1 and 39.3 for T2. Really nailed T3 tonight, though. Man this one's fun!

38.155
39.545

First ten laps

39.086
40.413

Seems like I have a long way to go...

Only second session so far, been busy at work.

38.056
38.897

I can not say exactly where I am losing tenths. But I took 0.8 off lap time, and at that pace there must still be a lot left :)

Close gearing setup - the tranny trick:
Final gear to max (5.500)
Top speed to min (200 km/h)
Adjust:
1st: 2.583
2nd: 2.810
3rd: 1.460
4th: 1.210
5th: 1.018
Final gear down to 2.930

I feel like I'm losing a lot of time at the loop, just can't figure out how much throttle to give while going around it.

I try to double-apex it. Enter full speed, coast for a while and turn sharply midways, then flat out for the rest, with a slight opposite lock perhaps.

This car does not like to be feathered, it needs slamming (Chris got it all right from the start :)).

I won't move quickly to install the chassis reinforcement 'cause, IMO, a chassis needs some flex for optimum grip.
A too stiff chassis makes the inside rear wheel come loose more quickly.
Do correct me if I'm wrong...

I think you are right, but it is a balance to find for each car. You want a rigid car, but not completely rigid (unless you have huge downforce to counter when the chassis would like to lift a wheel). Sports and race cars that are already very rigid can become too stiff, but most street cars are so loose that they benefit. I think this car does too.

Another 15mins to make it to thre one hour mark on this weeks event, which is something of a milestone for me in recent weeks. And to celebrate, some splits :)

38.079
39.852

Messed the loop up, and the last turn was a shocker. Lots of fun though

So does a decent T2...

Thanks by the way, nice to be back 👍

EDIT: Another hour after a short break and probably my last splits for the day. According to the spreadsheet of doom, I'm looking for .25 on the lap (most of it in T1) but who knows if it'll appear. Suspect everyone can tell the same story:lol:

If only my previous T1 would find it's way to this T2 I'd probably submit the lap!

38.254
39.183

Very nice, Jon! Coffee is brewed, so I'll take some laps and see what happens. I need to fix my second sector if I'm going to make any progress today.

Racing On!

Getting there too...

Added chassis reinforcement and did an oil change.

38.424
39.740

Thanks for the help cicua, I will try that later on. I've been braking entering the loop and if I can get through that faster it would be huge. Also going to try your gearing.👍

Jon, Lucas, Christphe, Diomiro, nice splits all but I think you can just stop and submit right now. You too Chuck.:sly:

First spilts,
38.192
40.310

Around half a second in split 1, more than a second in split 2 and i'll be happy
That S2 was really bad!

Returned to the WRS into quite a toughy, very fun though trying not to cause massive property damage to those sturdy track barriers :scared:

Anyway first session of 20 laps, managed these splits. Very happy with that lap actually, would consider submitting if it weren't for the tiniest rear bumper tap on one of the barriers :grumpy: Think I can find a few more tenths though.

T1 - 37.964
T2 - 38.840

DS3? First 20 laps? What sort of devilry is this? :scared:

Finally figured out sector 1.

T1: 37.993
T2: 39.325

All right. Gotta have a beer and relax. I've been banging into corners all morning. I finally got a 1'16.9xx, only to slow too much in the final corner. I'm getting low 39's in t2, though, I just haven't put it all together. :banghead:
My placement is falling faster than the value of the Euro, my dog has diarrhea and keeps trying to poop in the house, and my old DFP is missing shifts at random. :irked:🤬:grumpy:
I have a feeling one beer won't be enough!!! :sly:

Racing on!

Lol Chuk, I know, every time I check the standings I've fallen a spot. Nice times everyone. Chuk, what kind of wheel will you look into? G27 is really nice, T500 is amazing, the new Fanatecs are supposed to be great. So many good options out there now.

I've tried both Jake's G27 and Kenny's DFGT, but neither one has a beer holder, so I'm not sure! The budget will probably determine what I get as much as anything else. Seriously, I want some really good pedals.

The G27 pedals once NIXIM modded are pretty good IMO, definitely a hundred times better than the DFP/DFGT and it would be reasonably priced for the whole thing.

T1: 37.993

haha, first 5 laps I got used to the car and track, next 5 laps I tried to find the optimum line in the tricky corners, and the last 10 laps I just attack every corner and hope for the best :sly:

.

I can't get 2nd and 5th to those numbers.... and it seems strange that 2nd would be a lower gear ratio than 1st...
