Seriously, I want some really good pedals.

Fanatec Clubsports 👍 Can't speak for the T500 but Clubsports are the best pedals I have used, mostly due to the way the brake pedal and load sensor work. Can't overstate how good they are mate :) Nice sectors by the way 👍

.....and the last 10 laps I just attack every corner and hope for the best :sly:

👍 That is the way to get the best from this combo. I've said it before.... thrash it mercilessly. :P

Another small step for me.... but its becoming increasingly difficult to tie a lap together

37.563
38.715

In theory I can go another 0.25 on the lap. In reality I'm pretty happy with what I have now... Reckon I'll leave it for a day or two and see what happens then.

Oh and for the record, I am preferring my car without chassis reinforcement. Its tighter with it fitted but I found it more prone to understeer in the high speed stuff.

I can't get 2nd and 5th to those numbers.... and it seems strange that 2nd would be a lower gear ratio than 1st...

He's using the 'tranny trick' - first put the final drive ratio all the way to the right (highest number, lowest speed/ratio), then put the max speed all the way to minimum (124mph), then set the final drive ratio to the required value and adjust individual ratios if necessary.

Having said that, 2nd should be 1.810 not 2.810 Simon mate.... :sly:

Latest splits, slight improvement.

T1, 38.735
T2, 40.113

As Chris said the Club Sport Pedals are the best as they are the high end pedals, better than the T500 pedals for that matter according to all the on the sim racing hardware section of the site.

If it's a Fanatec wheel you are considering as an option then the CSR Elite pedals may be of interest to you, they have pretty much the same features as the CSP's, the only thing I can remember being different is that the CSP's have a rumble motor for the brake pedal and the fact that the CSP's are of better build quality.

As for the CSR Elite pedals they are $50 less but come with better/easier adjustability and they can also be inverted. The build quality to me is the only big difference but all the metal construction is in all the right places. I have a set of these Elite pedals and can't fault them.

This thread will give you more additional info Chuk

Indeed  - typo, 2nd should be 1.810. But 1.018 for 5th is correct. If you use miles not km's the available range might be slightly different? In any case: 5th all to the right.

Thanks to you guys for the info. While you were typing that, I was busy insulting the parentage of all inanimate objects of the past, present, and future who refuse to obey the desires of those who use them. Apparently, it worked!!! :dopey::lol:
I was right that one beer wasn't enough, but number three did the trick. Even with two missed shifts, I have new splits! I'm still a full two tenths off my best sector times, but at least it's an improvement.
T1: 37.898
T2: 39.214

Coming to the finish line, it didn't hit fifth gear on the first shift, and I thought my head was going to explode!!! I'm painting a house in the first week of January, and $300 will go towards a new wheel and pedals. I think it is in the best interest of my cardio-vascular system! :sly:

For now, I'm going to finish my beer and then do the dishes. Then, I'll be back!! :sly: :dopey: 👍

Racing On!

38.073
39.845

At some point I might manage a decent lap.... I dunno what my best T2 is, but this wasn't it :)

@Biffy and Chuk - outstanding gentlemen 👍 If I hook everything together I MIGHT be able to match Chuk's splits but no way do I have anything for Biffy

Chuk, I replaced my DFP earlier in the year (WRS wk15) with a G27. Took me a while to get used to it but it made a hell of a difference. You'll be D1 in no time with a decent wheel and, more importantly, decent pedals as others have pointed out.

From what I've read the Fanatec and the T500R are another step up again, but I guess it depends on what funds you can justify.

Scott, will PM you regarding the NIXIM mod.

Great splits Chris, way ahead of all the rest 👍 👍

Nice to see you again Jon, push hard because i believe that you can bee fighting for a spot on the podium on D2, if you remember week 19 - city track and a beast car :dopey:

Don´t know if i will have time this week with xmas and all the family together, i´m not even at home this days.

But i´ve good memories from this track on week 17, my first win  so, who knows :sly:

Thanks Joao, I had to go and look what happened in week 19, but you're right that was a good week.

Quite similar driving style needed for the Corvette. Sorry you won't be on this week, it's lots of fun - although having said that I've seen your recent form and I wouldn't be able to keep up. So relax, put your feet up, and give someone else a chance :sly:

feliz Natal

:)

Edit: has anyone else noticed that a ghost replay can't be uploaded when you first go back to a track? I ran laps last night, went to replay theater to view and then when I went back to the track, it wouldn't let me upload the ghost replay immediately. I had to run the car for a few seconds, exit out, and then upload the ghost. What's up with that???? Is this a post spec 2 issue, or is it from the 2.02 update?

Give the game a few more seconds and then it will let you load your ghost.

38.038
39.582

So frustrating....could have beaten this several times but always screw it all up in the last few turns

Great splits Chris, way ahead of all the rest 👍 👍

Thanks my friend :) Its looking pretty good so far but I keep expecting an alien to pop in and remind me of my place... :dopey:

With that in mind, here's another tenth to the cause:

37.545
38.613

So much for taking a day off.... We finished dinner, watched a film and the missus says "I think you should go and do a few laps."

Well who am I to argue? :P

Its a street circuit story.... Armco Blues if its a song. :)

I'll send you my number, get her to have a chat to MY missus can you . . .
Great splits BTW mate.
Cheers!

She knows you can win this week... and then celebrate... :sly:

You have to wait about 15 seconds before you can upload the ghost, I think it has to do with the track loading. As far as I know it's started with the latest update.👍

Only had about 30 minutes today, no new splits. I've found close to 4 tenths, .2 in T1 and another .2 in T2, but just couldn't string it together. I won't be able to run again until probably Monday so I may not have a better lap in me. Good luck everyone and Happy Holidays.🤬

Finally had a chance to get a good look at this bugger. Using my own blend of herbs and spices for the tune. I think there's at least .2 left, probably a bit more. Had a 37.9xx t1 and have been ahead of my ghost in various other spots.

Been up since 2am and I think it's time for a nap.

Here are my first splits.

38.131
38.906

37.840
38.915

I have made final gear a little longer, 2.900, so it only goes slightly above 7500 rpm at the end of the straight. Power really falls of a cliff there.

T1: 37.841
T2: 39.314

My T2 is relatively off the pace, but I always get nervous after doing a 37.xxx T1 :grumpy:.

Thanks to Chris for the suspension settings and cicua for the transmission settings 👍.

YAWN...stretch...just woke up from that nap you suggested I take, Chuk...WTF! D2 has shown UP!

Really not sure if I'll get another shot at this, but I hope I do. Today I was showing my little bro my wheel setup and he liked it, a little too much. :grumpy: No laps for me though.

Nice going, guys. 👍

C'mon Lucas, wake up lad. :P

Nice improvement Simon.... I can feel you gaining on me 👍

Sorry Joao - Happy Birthday mate

My BB is 6/6 ABS 9 by the way.
