FYI... full event details have been released for our special event featuring this combo that will pit WRS drivers against ORCA series drives in a multi-round "All Star" event on January 28th.

See the thread GTP_WRS vs ORCA - Special Event - Jan 28 for details. Sign ups are still open and seeding for team WRS will use the results of this time trial.

Racing On! :gtpflag:

New splits:

23.913
35.335

Great setup Kevin 👍 , for some reason I can't match your first gear ratio though, max speed (mph) at top right doesn't fit either.

I've used this gearbox:

2251
1730
1380
1120
909
F4000 (origin 6000)
Max speed 112 mph
Max speed top right 157 mph

New splits:

Rodonculous T2

Ramon, I'd venture to guess that Kev changed the default rims to paint them; I did so for the series, and I can get those numbers just fine.

The available gear ratios are affected, presumably due to compensating for changed rolling radius. Just hit 'default' if you change the rims, and those ratios would then be available.

It is a good setup; had time to find it first tonight. Moved the BB to 3/5 for me for a bit.

My own rather less spectacular splits from session 2 (another 20 laps or so):

T1: 24.154
T2: 36.160

Depressingly red-flagged 23'9xx T1 and 0'59 split is depressing.

I thought I had only painted the wheels, but it's possible I changed them as well. It's also possible that once you paint wheels, the game considers them custom and changes the ratios.

I set my transmission to be able to use all 5 gears, that's the main thing, either way. Final far right, top speed far left, change to highest 1st gear ( far left) lowest 5th gear (far right) then set final ratio to a top speed that works, tweak 2nd-4th to proper gaps against other gears.

Thanks for giving the setup the 👍 btw. :)

Thanks Ealirendur, I thought changing the rims in GT5 was only a mere makeup, I'll change the rims the next session to see what happens.

What I noticed when I bought the RM version of the Subaru Impreza and I changed its rims, was that some of them were noticeable different in size than the default ones.

You're right Kevin, there's a bit of gain of top speed using your RH, I had -30/-30 as RH and I was one car lenght slower at the final of the main straight.

Short session from me today. More improvement and had a faster lap going but T2 is still troubling me as well as the GT layout of Dunlop.

T1: 24.494
T2: 36.530

I thought that I would try something different for this one, so for a while at least, I’m doing it inside the car w/ Manuel Trans and no DL. The full immersion thing is cool and I can see body roll easier which for me is the only way I can see how correct the car is going through the turns. What a great handling car and the track takes on a more wide open feeling without the chicane. Great call Kevin 👍

T1: 24.428
T2: 37.458

I'm not impressed with the build quality of the T500.

I would have hoped a product that costs twice as much as the G27 and 4 times as much as my first wheel purchase (DFP) would be more reliable.

I hit up their customer service when my downshift paddle started acting up, and they asked me to make sure I had the latest firmware, blah, blah, blah. Ultimately, I found a temporary fix that did not require service.

Good thing I waited, I finally got the Fan bug that everyone else is dealing with.

I think I'll get them to fix the issues, put it on Ebay, and order a CSR Elite.

Sent my pictures and video of the broken pedal sent off to TM yesterday. I can understand some issues with the product given the type of use this thing is getting and I do have a heavy hand/foot, but if they can't address my issue with good customer support it'll be the last time I purchase or recommend one of their products.

Here's hoping they have a good solution that doesn't require me to be a mechanic or an electrical engineer... neither of which match my skill set. I can tighten a bolt, use a screwdriver and hammer in a nail, but after that I'm out of my comfort zone. My dad should disown me as he was in construction his whole life, but I guess I'm too old for that now.

On the bright side I can still drive with the pedal like it is and just lose a little feel.

T1: 23.721
t2: 35.321

Good to see you back Twissy and nice splits..👍
I do remember how hard I had to push to keep up with you.

Failure to convert good splits is killing me! Big T3 here though so gained a big bite at the line. Loads of 59.8s and one 59.6 binned....

You too man, were some intense battles, just had a long layoff with all the other games that came out and stuff

Looks like im gonna have to work on the first corner!

Cheers for tune kevin.

first 20 laps which 15 were red, slow T3 but a start

24.040
36.057

OK, I can see why you guys aren't liking the penalty system on this track... I had just blasted my previous fast lap out of the water when I realized that somehow it was "dirty", the time being listed in red... so I went to the replay, and here it is. Two wheels very much still on the rumble blocks...

And... of course, now I can't match that lap. Time for a break I guess...

Gee, Kevin, you're a master tuner on top of everything else?

First splits, kind of slow... Using Kevin's tune, but I haven't practiced that much yet.

Using Kevin's suspension settings and eclipsee's LSD and transmission settings I'm getting faster. I somehow managed to SMASH my previous T3.... Anyways.

T1: 24.638
T2: 36.843

Funny, I picked up .104 in t1, but lost .105 in t2...

T1: 24.794
T2: 36.577

I changed up Kevin's tune a little...

camber 2.5/1.5
toe -.25/-.25
ARB 7/3

LSD 10/30/5

Another thing to note: at ~50 miles on this car, it only had 173 hp (with oil change), somewhere between 50 miles and 230 miles it got broken in and then worn out to 172hp/129tq. Rebuilt engine brought it up to 178hp/133tq.

Results of a 30 min. session in a stock car:

T1: 24.965
T2: 36.783

T1: 24.428
T2: 37.458

Another dose for tonight and a little better result using the M/T, the carpels are staying cool for now as long as I shift calmly but if I pull harder thinking that it shifts faster I could be back on A/T but for now it's starting to feel like old home week :)

T1: 24.312
T2: 36.633

Those are some really great pictures, Daniel!! 👍

I'm using Daniel because we already have two Dan's and you mentioned that Daniel was o.k.. Please correct me if necessary!

And yes, Kevin is a tuning specialist, for sure. :)
I often use his tunes as a base tune, unless I just keep it, like this week! Thanks again, Kevin!!

Really busy this week, so I probably won't be running this again until Thursday. I don't mind, though. I just keep telling myself "New G27! New G27!" :sly:

Finally got a chance to try Kevin's tune. Wow! Actually T2 is not as smooth feeling with the tune, but the straight line speed just dominates my previous setup:

T1: 24.058
T2: 35.774

Slightly improved splits, but this time I had a good final sector so up *a lot* at the line:

T1: 24.076
T2: 35.679

Out for the night.

Exactly. Kevin's tunes may not be comfortable, but they're just plain fast. I still don't understand our drastic differences in taste as far as tranny settings, though. He tweaks mine, and I tweak his. :boggled:
