Man the penalty system is harsh here - there are so many corners that would have been clean by WRS standards that were red flagged. Managing to convert about 25% of my laps at the moment. Struggling for consistency in 100R and Netz. Not sure if I'm going to get the chance for another session or not as we're away for the weekend and I won't be back until after the deadline.

Anyway, splits from the first 300km. Using Kev's set-up (thanks) with my own tweaks here and there. Dropped .15 in T2 on this lap, and the same in T3, but this proved to be my fastest lap.

Love Fuji,although I prefer the F track.
Did only 80 miles so far,and work on my tune with very little steps.
The penalty system doesn't amuse me for sure... :(
I've read the story about changing rims, tried it,but could not notice any difference.
Want to thank EDK for posting his set-up.
My tune screen B is named after you from now on :)
Gonna give it a go.
Didn't read it in any post (including the opening one) but I want to mention it anyway to all participants:
Please beware of the fact that your tires switch automaticly when you change tuning screen from A to B or C.
Tires switch from Sports soft to Race hard...
Just to make sure, and avoid some disapointments when replays are going to be checked :)
Good luck all.

I think we are all going to be victims of the strict penalty system on this track.

I also see I'm not the only one with the BRG/gold BBS combo. :sly:

Faster lap, but this time I screwed up T3.

T1: 24.209
T2: 36.315

I wish this strict penalty system would be available in all GT5 tracks, absolutely clean laps would be guaranteed.

My GT5 save file got corrupted for no explainable reason...
I'll have to start all over again.:ill:

That means not having this car.. If anyone on my friendslist could set it online then that would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry. I believe Lucas (Gravitron) has some tickets you can use to get the car... You get a level ticket and have to cycle through the save file until you magically get the car. I would PM him and he can give you the details.

Car is to expensive to send directly.

But the Share Online option would work for these offline time trials. I'll send Wes a '65 ticket in a few minutes.

No, don't do that..
I don't like cheating in any way not even as tiny as this. Pekka will share it for me and I'll have to buy it to race in the WRS VS ORCA event anyway..

Thanks anyway.👍

If you want to add my primary account then I will put one of my Alfas on share.

That's cool. Funny I just ran across this quote:

No great idea in its beginning can ever be within the law.
— Emma Goldman

Not that I agree with the quote, but it's ironic that I came across two seconds after your post. Look her up.. interesting lady to say the least.

I guess the real advice here is back up your save file often. If you lose a weeks worth of effort it's one thing, but to start from scratch is 👎

I'm going to do that once a week now.👍

Sent the ticket back to you Lucas.👍

w-g-e, another way could be borrowing a NSX GT500 from a friend and do the Spa B-spec seasonal, in relative few time you would be able to get enough credits to buy that Alfa Zagato.

I'm going to do some A-spec events with borrowed cars. B-spec is too boring... :P

I feel sorry for you Wes :( If you want anything we're here 👍 (that sounded dramatical )
First splits:

24.326
35.592

Rubbish T1, average-good T2, T3 is too early to say if it's good :)

B-spec is not boring at all when you watch some movies! :P
Honestly, I find more boring the A-spec events.

New Splits:

T1: 24.202
T2: 36.205

Starting to figure out a rythym to the course. I have had better T2s by a decent amount, just unable to put together a full lap that I'm satisfied with. The good thing is I'm only at 176 HP so a couple to gain still 178 HP and it's only my second session. Back to the track, hopefully I can strike these splits soon.👍 Also not loving the penalty system, cost me a few good ones, but it's the same for all of us.

Couple of tips I've uncovered for those using Kevin's tune, which may work for you (they may not!)

1.) Use 1st gear for turn 1 and the penultimate turn to slow the car down. I hit 23.999 doing this with a prior best in the 24.1 range. The penultimate turn is the very sharply tightening left hander which has no obvious braking point - this will allow you to hit the apex better, which is crucial or the lap is ruined.
2.) Use 2nd gear for that Dunlop fast-right, briefly, til you hit 80mph and then mash it and don't take too much curb. This is all about lining the car up and slowing it down/getting it turned
3.) 3rd gear for 100R part way round the turn, but lift in 4th well before the red braking line mid way round, coast for 1 second, then part throttle and up to 3rd gear, maintaining ~ 97mph - you need to apex this late or you'll lose tonnes of speed and that speed cannot be maintained any other way.

A fairly immediate shift to 2nd gear is required whenever 1st is used, it's for slowing down/positioning and not acceleration, though you can use it for around 2 seconds if you want.

Works for me!

New Splits:

T1: 24.176
T2: 36.120

Loads of time on the track, seeing it bit by bit. Bit by bit? Bitte ein Bit? Yes, please.:sly::cheers:

second sesh, think i've pretty much hit the brick wall now

23.787
35.155

WOW what a great setup Kevin gave up, just simply amazing. I knocked almost 2 sec's off my OT using my "EDK Flyer" I started feeling my carpelz light up again from using the paddles so I am using for the first time the shifter knob staying in full imersion from the "inside cam", what fun 👍

Matt, thanks for the tips on 100R. I think I worked it out last night but it's not very repeatable. Was just going too hard in 4th before easing off. There are seemingly ZERO reference points in that corner - might switch on the driving line as you suggest to see if that helps 👍 Have run a couple of 35.7's so it's doable, but I think 'Hairpin' is more important in terms of sector time due to the long run to Dunlop.

I've modified Kev's set-up a little, but I'm using 2nd gear for the first turn and at worst I'm in the low 24.0xx range with a very high 23.8xx as a best. I'd say I'm under 24 seconds to T1 50% of the time. I can't remember what I changed specifically in the gearbox (will post those tonight), but I removed rear DF for balance (100R and Dunlop), dampers were set to 1 (ext and comp) in the rear and I changed the brake bias to 3/7 (this helped a lot with turn 1 - brake around 125m and turn in from wide and plant the throttle on the apex).

With these changes I've managed a 59.83x best to T2 (went slightly wide at Dunlop and got red lapped but it was still WRS clean) but my theoretical best is a tenth faster than that. HOWEVER, as I was in wk22, I'm not confident with the last part of T3 and I seem to remember you were way quicker than me in that section :nervous: You kicked my 🤬 last time in fact, so I'm determined to be closer to you this time :mischievous:

*scurries off to check wk22 replays for driving line advice*

Will post my full set-up tonight

Great splits by the way Tim 👍

 Down the board..my home..missed a gear in T2....but T3....:).

Getting used to Kev's setup..with minor adjustments so I can hold the car on the tarmac. :nervous:

Really struggled to make progress with this combo. Couldn't settle on a setup that worked for me at first... now using Kevin's (thanks Kev - great job 👍) I'm traditionally not happy at Fuji either and feel like I'm starting from scratch every time I run it. It's taken me nearly 4 hours already to get a lap I'm happy with...

23.843
35.485

Don't be fooled though, it's not got a great finish. I just hope I can repeat the splits with a better 3rd sector. Nice job so far guys - Amazing sector 2 Twissy and welcome back 👍 Nice job too Wes, Ramon and Ron 👍

After break in the car my first splits but with a very poor finish :yuck:

Already saw a .4xx so plenty off room to improve, but the track penalties ... :scared:

T1: 24.086
T2: 35.456

Thanks Kev for the tune, is great 👍
