To me it looks as though that gap is for rain to to run off the concrete but not down the rumble.

Anyway, gone .170 quicker at the line, slightly slower at T2. Not at all quick this week, but got a banker lap now, looking to break in to the low 4s at T2 before I submit happily.

Mostly working on T1 and T3 today, T2 is a job for the weekend!

I need an official word from the stewards if this is clean or dirty?

Since this lap I've done 550km's more to beat this time but I simply can't do it and my nerves are really thick already....:nervous:

That is actually a quite interesting picture and I'm looking forward to an official verdict. Where does the curb end? I assume it's some kind of filler material in between the actual rumbles and whatever it is outside. Is that considered part of the rumbles or not?

As the race spec's have pointed this out about the concrete on several turns as not being part of the track.

The picture shows only one wheel in contact with the curb at that point and not the requied two wheel at all time, If I was viewing that replay I would have to call it a dirty lap.

Phillip.

Never thought that I was going to say this, but this a very addictive combo 👍

And some pictures :)

And here the driver is clearly trying to hide his face behind the windscreen washer :sly:

I can't seem to get any faster in T2 or T3..but I know T2 is where I need to find the time..

T1: 23.753
T2: 24.174

This T2 is only .001 faster than my last set of splits!

I'm pretty close to packing it in on this one, and I do agree - great combo once you get it dialed in for your particular driving style.

I can feel your pain, Josh, but you might have saved me from a big disappointment. My splits are no good, and I went over the rumbles in t2. So my splits are back to what they were yesterday.
I should have checked my replay much closer. I guess I was overconfident about my driving, which is a gas!! :dopey: I'll be more careful next time. :dunce:

Nevermind. New splits again:
T1: 23.625
T2: 22.963
It's starting to get harder to beat them, but it's fun trying!!

I'd like to thank the organisers this week as this is a great combo, didn't think it would be but after an hour its great. I would also like to thank Vagabond for his setup 👍

If i've got the time I would like to get a few 0.100's quicker but it means getting that perfect full lap for me.

T1: 23.758
T2: 23.138

Also think I might have found a bug with the online replays. When loading any of the online top ten (whether loading ghost, or previously saved top ten replay) when the counter reaches close to the lap time of the ghost replay, the whole game freezes. Tried cleaning the Internet cache, and on both of my PSN accounts. Works fine with my saved replays though. Wierd, because this used to work previously.

Similar trouble here. When I use a saved replay as ghost, the PS3 freezes when the ghost car crosses the line after first lap. Frozen picture, repeating/stuttering sound and no input response. Every time, and same on both my PS3's.

Strangely, when the ghost is just best lap of current session it works fine.

I have not tried other tracks or cars since I got this problem. Hopefully it is just a problem with this particular race, and not in arcade mode.

I've got that regularly..My 3rd fastest ghost is the only one I can use because the other two faster ones keep crashing the game @ the finish line.

I can quit and then reload, so don't have to reboot, but it's a pain because I can't race my fastest time!

I think I've had it happen in arcade mode, but can't remember..it certainly has happened before tho.

new splits, have seen a quicker T1. When I saw my T2 split went and lost my nerve coming out the tunnel and only managed 0.017 extra at the line.

T1: 23.718
T2: 23.066

Maybe just a coincidence, but I had the problem of some ghosts crashing the PS3 after a lap - but it stopped once I stopped deleting some of the prior ghosts I had saved.

Yeah, I ran into that once during the Academy, but I thought it was an isolated event. I guess not. Last splits for today, as it's time for work. Just a couple of tenths left for me, I think.
T1: 23.663
T2: 22.911

Maybe I'll find some time tomorrow, but I know I'm pretty close to done for this week.

First 10 laps and ran out of time. Sunday hopefully more time. It's a great combo! Well done.

T1 23.751
t2 23.873

I've been having the same problem.:grumpy:

A couple of tenths Chuk will find you in the Top 5 overall mate. As it is now you are safely inside the Top 10.....

I don't mean to rain on your parade, but I think that a couple of tenths is a bit optimistic, as even 0.050 will be a battle now, as i am finding. I've never seen a 46.3xx to T2 (which is where 2 tenths puts you), just to give you an idea of how bloody hard it is.... and that's without taking into account getting from T2 to the line right, which is another challenge in it's own right! That's not to say it cannot happen, as the Golden Lap is always lurking.......

How many hours have you sunk into this week?...... because as it stands right now you are well into D2 Gold territory with those splits/times... which is 👍

Pretty close to done....? You seem very casual about being fastest in D3 by miles (for the first time) not to mention the fact you are beating most of D2 and alot of D1 as well... not to be insulting or judgemental but your first 3 weeks results were average for your division; where has this sudden turn of speed come from? :odd:

I do remember that they did take the online replays offline/disabled in the previous patch for a while. Maybe something related?

Finally! Managed to string my T1 and T2 together, and not a bad T3 as well. I had been using the extra parts for the extra torque and thought I'd go back to a stage 3 tune only. Instant improvement, the extra torque does nothing but make the car tail happy I think. And funnily enough, my cleanest lap. Just goes to show being clean is the fastest way 👍

23.737
23.057

So my tune is bog stock, with just the Stage 3 and nothing else. Was using rudi's tune as a base. Went back to standard suspension settings, but with rudi's toe settings, and just stiffened the rol bars to 7/7 and brakes to 6/4 and LSD to 15/38/21. So a mixture of everyone's tune (including PD's default).

Spending way to much time on this combo, with so little progress. Similiar story as others in getting that 23.5xx T1, then having my ghost pass me right before the tunnel. Appreciate the tunes from Vagabond, Rudi and Lefty. The LSD 20.40.10 definitely keeps the sliding in check, but something about the difference in Vagabond's tune makes T2 and T3 faster or it is all in my head. Is it sunday yet?

T1: 24.460
T2: 23.519

I deleted all replays, that helped. Thanks!

Edit: - And brought a few back from USB, which worked :)

After a few days off I finally put a lap together I'm happy with. There is a little more in T2 as I got a bit loose in the left hander going into the tunnel but the rest of the lap was solid.

T1: 23.554
T2: 22.813

After two days chasing a ghost, finally some improvement, but T3 was a disgrace :nervous:

T1: 23.601
T2: 23.031

Out of curiosity, what's with the rule about the oil indicator light? Is there some advantage to running on old oil, or is it just to make sure that no one starts off at a disadvantage?

T1: 23.808
T2: 23.420

Thanks, Josh. I was stuck earlier, but I managed to find over half a second by following your tips.

I finally did a lap where not one sector went all wrong.

T1: 23.550
T2: 23.070

When consistency can't do it, persistence has to make up for it!

Well, I'm not easily insulted, nor do I feel any inquiry into my speed is unjustified. :)
I didn't sandbag the qualifier, though I'm guilty of not giving it my best shot. Some would say that's the definition of sandbagging, and I don't have any good rebuttal to that. I spent an hour on the qualifier, and about 30 hours on this week.
I race when I can. Sometimes that's a lot, sometimes not, When I race a lot, I expect to be fast, and the ability to tune the car helps me. I've posted my set-up, and I'll provide the replay, but to sum it all up, the glory of winning a certain division means less to me than the satisfaction of knowing that I can compete with the fastest of the fast.
My fastest T1 is 23.560, and I can do a 22.8xx T2, and I love to drive T3. A couple of tenths may be optimistic for T2, it's certainly not out of range for a total time. I want to win D1.
That being said (or typed), I love you all and look forward to many more weeks of racing.

Yep thats basically the definition of sandbagging good job.

IMO if you only spent 1hr on the qualifier you should only do 1hr each week.

or redo the qualifier now that its open again.

As I said, I race when I can. I'm not trying to win any division for glory. You can believe it or not.

Was just looking at who I was battling with on the leaderboard and noticed the splits, now that is what I call close racing! Funny with all the different driving styles and T1/T2 times it could add up consecutively like that.

GTP_Shigegaki 46.791 , GTP_Vroomfondel 46.792 , GTP_Insatiable 46.793 , GTP_Sidplayos2 46.794

I was going to call it done on this, but maybe I can find .005 seconds :)

Shigegaki really punching above your weight there, maybe it was the paint afterall 👍

Edit: Try to fix the leaderboard, worked for Vagabond :)

T2: 23.058
