Is that some magical nano-paint with better aerodynamics?? Nice job! đź‘Ť

Sooo... Rudi's tune? I guess now I have to try it later. :)

Haha, I don't know. I swapped it to Yellow paint with Black wheel paint. But yes it's Rudi's tune with some minor adjustments. I gained so much time being more careful from T1 to T2 while pushing it without drifting the right turns after the downhill portion before the tunnel. I am hungry for that promotion, what can I say hehe :)

I'm finding this one pretty tough:

T1: 23.923
T2: 23.438

It's a nice car, I just find these slidey ones a bit tough with the DS3...particularly as a D-Pad steerer

Had a go, pretty hard to not get this slideways.

Was getting high 23's for T1 and something rather than T2 and got in a resonable lap, but then realised I wasn't on my GTP account.

:dunce:

New splits:
T1: 23.754
T2: 23.118
Only .2 quicker than what's on the board but a cool .8 better where it counts

Shaun - had a small play about with various engine tuning parts to boost the low end torque but found it made little actual difference on the track. If anything it just makes it that bit harder to get the power down out of the tight corners without spinning the wheels. On average I ended up about 0.2 slower with tuning parts installed so went back to totally standard exhaust, intake, and engine. :)

Thanks for the answer mate. đź‘Ť

I still haven't had the time to put one lap down with my wheel (just too busy at home and work) so your feedback is appreciated. đź‘Ť

Also i've got a busy weekend ahead of me never mind what else turns up so I think I may not even get the chance to turn one lap this week. :(

Cheers Shaun.

This one is like a drug....today no improvment from me but I realised I've done 700km's already..!Seen a few 46.1's but I can't repeat that last turn again in a million years!!!:dunce:

Btw: Nice splits Josh,it's going to be tight in the finish as usual!

Maybe it's the non-metallic paint that does the trick. Those extra metal flakes weigh extra you know :sly:

I finally think I understand sector 2 now. Unfortunately final sector is beyond rubbish in this lap.

Sector 2:

I turn very early for turn 1 (at the top of the crest) so that I can slightly drift and take the bend at as high a speed as poss (something like 95mph max), after a little bit more acceleration down the slight downhill, I break for the first RH and then literally do not touch the accelerator again and I don't brake a huge amount either, right the way to the left turn for the tunnel.

If you balance the steering and break very lightly Ive found that you can decelerate with a slight drift round the series of RH turns, leading to the tight left. I tend to take this (the tight left) as tight as possible to the curb, but it FEELS so slow, I then ONLY accelerate when I can see the right edge of the tunnel, so that I don't drift much, it at all. Occasionally I've found that if you can accelerate a bit but manage any sliding, you can at least exit a little earlier. I would also say that in stock form, this method is almost impossible to achieve - using Vagabond or Rudi's settings however, it makes it far easier and more manageable - so for that, you guys are awesome ;)

Best I've managed is 23.117 - I think ALL the time lost here is in the exit speed and run thru the tunnel to the end of the section - I'm going to blame the DS3 for this :) :D

Any faster ways of doing this? I "might" be losing time by running up to the tight left to far to the left of the track (e.g. i took the previous turn with too much speed) - this is obviously then limiting my exit angle quite a bit and I'm losing a few tenths by not being able to accelerate early enough.

It's a sector you want to really attack, which you can on the penultimate corner, but the right-hander exiting the tunnel is very difficult to attack without losing momentum.

I basically do what your doing millross, I try not to brake as much and just engine break and coast. What a lot of the D1 drivers have been trying to push is, slow in & fast out. And at least for me, I am staying in 4th gear through most of the course, with the exception of the left turn before the tunnel of course.

So after changing my car's color and going back to the track. I met my goal and I am quite excited  ....

Wow, stunning improvement mate đź‘Ť Looking for a promotion eh? :sly:

That's a shame mate, 'tis a fun combo this đź‘Ť Try and get some time... :)

Well, here's my set-up so far. I'll probably tweak it a little more, but set-ups are picky and personal, so I usually don't change them much.

Ride height: -15 front / -9 rear
Spring rate: 9.0 front / 12.0 rear
Dampers: 5 front / 5 rear
6 front / 5 rear
Anti-roll: 4 front / 3 rear
camber: .3 front / 2.0 rear
toe: 0.0 front / .05 rear

I turned the initial torque to 20 and dropped the tranny to 137 m.p.h.
Brake bias is 6/3

I know, you have to be vey careful coming out of the tunnel. It is a good feeling though when you get it just right in the second to last corner and can just floor it so very early. (What I meant in my post was that the final sector on that particular lap was abysmal.)

T1: 23.687
T2: 23.105

Didn't have a great last sector unfortunately but still improved overall time a bit.

So after changing my car's color and going back to the track. I met my goal and I am quite excited

Must be frictionless paint. :) Great times!

I lowered the rear ride height to -12, softened the rear spring to 10.0, and lowered the rear damper compression to 4. I also dropped the rear anti-roll bar to 2. That got me these splits.
T1: 23.718
T2: 22.918

I been ahead of this ghost by tenth or more, but in t3 he keeps passing me by.

Racing on!

Hey Guys,

by no means am I saying that this is Gospel or anyone should listen to me, but I'll post this up as a guide to my lap to help some of the guys having trouble.

T1:
Starting the lap by crossing the start/finish line at 193-194km/h. staying in the middle of the track and hugging tight to left and braking at the 100m sign. trail brake into the corner and slide a fraction, catching it with half throttle and a bit of steering input. as soon as i am straight again, full power and out to the rumble strip.

T2:
holding 4th gear over the crest and taking the right kink as smoothly as i can. touch of brakes to get the car turned in to the first of the double rights, holding 4th until the last second and then 3rd for the second right hander. back on the power shortly before an early brake in 3rd for the left hander. waiting waiting waiting and then power on full and catching the slide as best i can to stay as straight as possible.

T3:
using 4th for the right hander after the tunnel, power on as early as i can and pre-empting the oversteer so to keep as straight as possible. braking for the second last corner and turning in late, trying to stop the oversteer by feeding the power on for a fraction of a second, and as soon as i feel the understeer come in, full power and out and away.

Hope this helps anyone who could be bothered to read it, any questions i am more than happy to answer.

Josh.
