My first thought was "Looks like fun"

My second was, "Oh crap, the 3D3 race is going to be mental" :P

Probably lots of time to find with a proper setup. Great fun but kind of a shame about the Grip Reduction setting - there's a little too much grip with Low. Still be a great week though.

Grip reduction is what it is. There's no way to enforce it, so we have to deal with the alternative.

We did some testing for 3D3 last week. For the live race, we'll go with something like 50% surface water, with stronger weather and lower variability. We used the "Recommended" Elise 111R for the test, so no tuning. With a setup and practice, it should be both manageable and fun.

I wasn't complaining Kevin... :scared: Put that cattle-prod down... [legs it]

Yeah, it's all right. Just saw the post above that Tim answered, and I also had a PM in my box this morning from someone moaning that I don't make the combos tough enough.

Consider it misdirected annoyance.

Kevin would make one hell of a cowboy... Alas, I don't think horses come in purple so that idea is out.

No worries 👍 I understand your frustrations, you know that. If I was going to complain, I'd just stuff a whole bag of marshmallows in my mouth first.

Mmmmh mmmmfff mmm hmmmm :mischievous:

A great combo, clearly I'm not great at driving it.:nervous:

T1, 1'02.156
T2, 50.904

It's been a while since I WRS'd... I got a bit bored of GT5.

Anyhow, had to have surgery on my shoulder back at the beginning of December, which involved the best part of 4 weeks off work including the Christmas break. Not much to do when you have a big block of foam strapped under your armpit but sit on your arse and watch TV. When the boredom of day time TV hit me I thought I'd see if I could play GT5 with the pad... and teach myself to drift... took a few weeks, but I'm reasonably competent now and I had a huge amount of fun in the process... sort of got me back in to the game :)

Today I had a bit of free time so I got my wheel out for the 1st time in over 6 months, dusted it down and thought I'd have a go at a WRS... what a lovely combo 👍

1:00.146

Car is pretty much stock except for max aero and a bit of camber.

Not sure how much time I'll have to run again as I have a new role at work... which involves me being away from home for 4 nights a week... but I'll hopefully get chance to have another run next weekend :)

Awesome start Chris 👍 And welcome back mate. Hope the shoulder is ok now.

Thanks buddy 👍

It will take 6 months to get it right again... I had a 90% torn tendon repaired and load of bone removed from my rotator cuff. but I was in so much pain with it before the op I had to get it done. It's already much better, but I can only manage around 30 mins of wheel time before it feels sore!

Regarding the Elise... someone like Ramon or Zocky will murder this one. I had a few mid 59 T1's, but linking that with a good exit from the hairpin, a decent Spoon AND a good exit from Casio will require a bit more talent than I have (or a much better set up!). The lap I posted above has a massive slide out of the hairpin and another on entry to Spoon... a good second to come off in total at T2.

Made a tune last night, refined it today, and have these splits to show for it.

Thanks!!!

I was about to dig Senna up. I know he's good in the rain. This challenge may finally force me to become better w/dfgt than ds3 finally... although the GT Academy couldn't accomplish that so only time will tell. Good luck all! Glad to be in the league!

15 lap session with no tune and resisting the urge to drift.
Can't even imagine trying to use the cockpit view on this one.

OK, it's official, I can't drive in the rain:

T1: 1'01.506
T2: 50.883

About one clean lap in ten and most of them end backwards. Often I can spin right around and keep it clean, but unfortunately no style points awarded.

Here's my first splits
1:01.359
50.607

I used this tune for the lap with my own gearing.

LSD:
Initial Torque: 15
Acceleration Sensitivity: 50
Braking Sensitivity: 10

Suspension:
Ride Height Adjustment (mm) -0 / -5
Spring Rate (kgf/mm): 3.5 / 6.0
Dampers (Extension): 3 / 6
Dampers (Compression): 3 / 6
Anti-Roll Bars: 1 / 1
Camber Angle: -1.0 / -1.5
Toe Angle: 0.00 0.20
Brakes: 8 2

Afterwards I had 5 or so laps with Kev's tune and ended 0.4 slower. I feel there is more in kev's tune than the other but is a little more difficult to get. I think I will have a bit more of a go using each tune for the time being as each is vastly different but are producing similar results for me.

My car has b-spec'd the GV300 and is now 207hp.

Has anyone noticed this car keeps changing tyres on you whilst racing and saving your ghost? after my first few laps i went 5 secs faster out of nowhere? I looked at the tyres and they had went from rain racing rain to inters and then again after that from racing rain to hard tyres within a couple of mins of testing all by itself???

edited splits: surface water at race start was 50% 👎

Might have been due to the surface water and/or weather variability.

If you have the Surface water and weather both at 100%, and then have the changeability at 0, there should not be an issue.

EDIT : I took your time off the board as well.

Cheers Kev, A bit like leading the blind i know... apologies mate 👍 my splits still on leaderboard so will update with some fakes to dispose of them...

oops cheers for editing :P

Hi folks.
I've been tempted out of my recent idleness to have a go at this combo - what a cracker 👍

My G25 is like me - old and crabby, but it's enjoyable anyway.

First few rusty laps:

Tempted to have a go at this, a very novel idea indeed 👍 and scary :scared: WSGTC 3 starts this week though so I'm focusing all my efforts there, a lot of tough competition to face so unfortunately I won't be back to running the WRS for a while, good luck to everyone with this combo.. it looks mean

Bloody hell... is this an old timers re-union or something? Ron, Phil 👍 ;) :D

1st try only 10 laps in. Just want to get on the leaderboard.

Nice to see you guys back in here, BTW.

Did not know about your shoulder. You back to golf yet, or do you have to wait a bit longer?

First attempt at this right now. Using Kev's tune. I bet I don't make it through the esses before I go off on the first lap.

Edit: First Turn. :dunce:
