Now that I have a wheel, I cant get anywhere near my DS3 time 👎

I gotta figure out the tuning difference.

Its going to take you some time to get good with your wheel it does for everyone. Give it a few weeks or a month.

I just drove my DS3 tune with my wheel and theres nothing I would change. The car performs like it needs to...Im just not use to driving it with wheel is all.
 
First splits:

T1 29.679
T2 26.536

Not had much free time this week, so Im using your tune Jack but with slightly shorter gears.
Some very impressive times on the board, hopefully I can find a bit more in the second sector. This is a very tricky combo on the comfort softs, I think im too aggressive to get the best out of them.
I'll keep going though, a few days left to control my thumbs more accurately.

I hope I haven't reached my limit already, just had 3 consecutive laps split by a range of only 6 thousandths of a second lol.

Smoothed it out a bit, watched Chris' sector 1 video as well - really helped, cheers.

Lost a bit through the final turn, still crossed the line 3-4 tenths ahead of my previous best.

Took me at least a solid 2 months to start beating my ds3 pace. Even now its only slight, but loads more fun and more precision and consistency. Keep at it!

Anti-Roll Bars: 1 / 1

Camber Angle: 2.0 / 1.3
Toe Angle: 0.00 / 0.22

Brake Balance: 6 / 3

Seem to have spent more time chasing the right transmission tune than driving.
Lots to learn for me.
 
Am I the only one who hasn't touched the transmission? I figured it was geared properly and I didn't want to risk a slightly quicker gearing because it would enhance the risk of spinning out of the corners.
 
Everyone is most likely dealing with real life issues Al. Last and this week are difficult for me! Well, anyway, got to get some pressure on ya!

I looked at that first and thought: What the hell is he talking about?

Then i realised there may be a thread further down that I had missed. Oh well, I guess I really have to get to work with the wheel, though after just 4 days I'm only about 1.5 seconds off my pad pace...I'm looking to eventually be abducted!:lol:

But I'm gonna suck ass for a few weeks before anyone complains. At least I'll have a break from turning in a replay every week:tup:

Can you explain how you set your gears? I would like to try I dont understand when someone says they used shorter or longer gears myself what they mean.

I tried 4 different slightly trannys and made 4 different tunes and then tried making one out of them with all the best things.




Better give you Div4 guys something to aim for :sly:

Seriously wheel tunes good, DS3 tunes so bad, not fast, inferior, who would ever in their right mind want to even try it?

(my wheel driving friend has won a seasonal TT driving my DS3 tune before)

Edit: That being said Im now going to totally retune my car from scratch. I may not find a solution for the T2 riddle this week but I will try before I quit doing this combo.

Im kinda new to the tranny trick myself dont excactly definitly know what Im doing just ball park it thats why i tried 4 slightly different trannys and of course stock.





I rember when it was alot simpler to adjust a tranny. Those were the good old days in a way. One less variable to have to mess with just pick a top speed. Even then some guys would run a tranny where they only used the first 5 gears some times and set the top speed way to high.

Like the first Dirt TT I did Zoky Cro did that. Soon everyone did.

I fogot that and havent tried that this week. I mean this TT is alot like tuning for dirt I think anyhow.



EDIT: If your using my posted tune try 5 5 5 LSD instead. I gave my tune one last shot but looked at the other ones they all had 5 5 5. Ummm...I kinda was thinking I was using the same LSD always guess not. haha

Now to try to massivley blast it thru that chicane AND somehow come out quick as well.

I just did massivley blast it thru all its worth every last inch of space on apex and exit and quickly, come out quick to boot and ONLY did a 199...how the heck does Mark take the first corner of T2?

Haven't found a tune that suits me well yet so I'm trying something a little different and using the Height Adjustable Sports Kit with these settings.

SR 5.7/3.3

From default lower Max Speed to min(160kph)

Speed in top right 236kph
Shifting at 7000rpm gets 202kph before first corner.

Not much faster splits but 0.5 gained at the line.

@JTV try not short shifting at 7. I dont.

Jacks right JTV. Just hitting the shift light is best for me.
Anyone else think we should be able to adjust our own shift light ?

New splits. Slower 1 and 2 but i gained .45 at line, had no idea i was leaving that much on the track. Now to put it all together hehe
