I'm not really liking this track. Perhaps if I had a bit more time, it might grow on me, but constant restarts is really annoying. Glad I got something I'm happy with this as I won't be able to spend time on this before the deadline
 
Just spent another hour or two (who's counting?) on this, trying to improve. I did, at first with a 1:33.167, but decided to keep going some more. After another half-hour or so, I finally got

1'32.911

Very happy to have made it into the 32's now... but I forgot to save my replay :banghead:

Got this about 20 minutes in tonight, took a break, and could not come back within striking distance. Happy with the improvement of more than a tenth, only a little more than 2 tenths to go.

Gained ~0.250 in both T2 and T3, with a *slightly* slower T1. Best T1 is now 34.190, which had me about 3 car lengths behind A7XMaverick's old 31.1 ghost that I've been chasing, at that sector point. Improvements in T2 and T3 were mostly due to getting off brakes earlier, giving higher apex speeds and better "make-or-break corner" exits. 👍

Oh...and AS Strong! :dopey:

EDIT: My gamesave says 629miles and 591 retries. I'll try to get that looking like a normal WRS week for me, before the deadline. :lol:

I just went on the GT Academy leaderboards and it was very cool to see a lot of WRS and GTPlanet members in the top 250 worldwide and region wide. Great job everyone! I wish I could participate but I won't complain about being on vacation either.;) Good luck the rest of the way.

I haven't run GTA at all since Monday... worked another 14 hours today and leaving for a long trip early Saturday morning so I think I'm crying uncle now. Submitted my lap on Monday anyway predicting this would be another work week from hell. Good luck to those still running.

Been over .2 up on this lap multiple times heading into sector 3.. But on this lap I nailed sector 3 for a slight overall gain.

Now if I could just get the mental ability to put a good first 2 sectors with a quality 3rd, I could get to the 1'30s.. Just seems that much harder because it is GTA?!? :crazy:

I improved a tiny bit again yesterday, it would have been better without the rubbish final corner though.:ouch: I think I need to watch a few videos now, if I can find a tenth or two from them it would be great.:sly:

Yes, and burn a few candles for yourself as well!!

I've not been able to improve yet so maybe that could bring me something.:)
 
Just improved my time on my main account. Gonna have to run some laps on my GTP tag to improve that one as well.

Not going to get much more time on it - race tomorrow morning, so I'm not sure whether I'll be able to have enough time to fix my execrable T1 technique.

(.14) Slower than my best sector 1. But I nailed sector 2 and 3. I want to try to get that last little bit, but I don't think I will ever run that sector 2,3 combo again. I am submitting with this time.

Good luck to everyone still pushing. There is still time. It would be great to have a strong WRS representation in all the respective finals!

I was getting lots of 31.8's and 31.7's, so I just kept going...and going...and...

Top 32 in the US is currently about 29ft away at the line...:drool:

EDIT: This added 384miles and 230 retries to my savegame.

Stop by the Brussels Airport Monday around 9:30am and I will bandage you up. Too late to help with the academy though.:)
 
I managed a 1'33.9xx before the event was posted, just can't seem to shave anymore time off it since then.

How do you turn the ghost off? Tidgney has no ghost in his video. Not sure how much more time is left on this, but if it's still running later I'll see if I can turn a better lap.

Look at your button mapping in the options, default is 'up' on the D-Pad I think.

It's ok I was being an idiot and thinking that the mapping I had wasn't working, but this is not GT5 so it's not going to have the same button mappings I setup before :boggled: :dopey: :dunce:
