This car is a beast, and got a early head start this week. I look forward to tight competition in D4 đź‘Ť

T1: 37.262
T2: 24.416

I'm guessing they work just like the cones.

During best lap replays, it only shows you hitting cones if you drive through the area they would normally be located. Displaced cones don't show up.

But you might just try it out to see. I crashed in the chicane once last night when running, and just restarted my run. I know that means warming the tires up again, but I didn't want the hassle of the blocks being in the wrong place.

Yea that's what I have done so far. Only ran 5 laps or so tonight as haven't had time, but if I get this situation come up, will check it out :)

Last update for today, I am loving this combination.

T1: 36.530
T2: 24.495

I see how far I have to come this week! I thought that my times were good until I checked the replay...

T1: 38.389
T2: 25.018

Got some work to do! Oh yeah... And the big blocks just stay in your way if you hit 'en. They're heavier that cones tho, so don't expect to just drive thru 'en next lap.

That was quite a rude awakening after our reasonably-priced car last week! An hour later I finally managed a clean lap. I think the contrast from last week makes this one even more fun.

Just over an hour in:

36.206 (T1 is murder....without being able to change the gears, that tight right hander just before T1 is TOUGH)
23.649

Truly great combo Kev!

Holy *bleep!* 35.6 T1?!?!....I'll get my coat, haha.

Slightly different driving required compared to last week :sly:

T1: 36.566
T2: 24.062

I'm driving with TCS on 5 until I can get the hang of this beast đź‘Ť

I recommend TCS 1 with Active Steering Strong - works well for me with the DS3. Use lots of 3rd gear, particularly in turn 1, 3 and at the end - gives the smoothest exits without too much sliding. (All IMHO, of course :))

New splits

36.665
24.267

Had a moment in T2 so I know that can be improved, and I've seen a .35x in T1 but blew it further round the lap. Good fun!

I had a short 7 lap session on this last night, quite fun.

I like the feeling GT5 has over Prologue when exiting a corner and starting to slide.
I can keep my foot in it if I prefer and complete the corner.
In Prologue, once it was sliding it was all over, corner done, spinning out.
Or as some call it, oversteer.
Any who!!

Yeah, Jerome don't hit that curb either.
It takes forever for the car to land before getting on the gas.
I was starting to slide coming out of that corner and the 2 times I lifted, the car jerked to the left. Oops!!
I'll stay in the throttle for now on.
I found the right hander (Bit) before T2 to be my trouble spot and it leads all the way up the hill.
I think I'll go a bit slower on the lefty before that (or at least keep the car on the inside) to help set me up for Bit.

Why using a clutch is prohibited? H shift+clutch is slower than sequential gears...

I think there was a "glitch" in GT5P, where manual shifting with a clutch was faster, because the power wasn't cut off as long as shifting with the paddles or sequential shifter. Might be related to that.

It is related to that, and even in GT5, someone who knows how to use the clutch will be faster with it. It cuts down on the amount of time off throttle as compared to the automatic shift.

From the perspective of the race admins, it potentially provides an unfair advantage to those who have it and use it, so we don't allow it.

Not sure if I will do this one hate anything to do with the Nurburgring. When this track was released for Forza 3, I think I had a go around it 10 times in total in the space of a year. Me and this track do not get on at all which is ashame because all I practiced in when this game came out were the GT500 cars in race lobbies.

I will leave my spot open to Maz I think, he loves this track, :sly:
Not sure if he likes the small version though.

I can't say I want you to compete but after a week of laps here anyone will get to know the track well enough to enjoy it.

That's one of the best parts of the WRS, you get very intimate with a track by weeks end and will always retain what you have learned about the track.
Don't be turned away if your times are not that great, post them and get on with the improvements.
Lurking for a week will get you no where.

It's not so much the track, it's the first sector. Always had problems with it on all racing games I have played. It's not that I don't want to do it, just a very weak track for me, the car would be one of my strong points on any other track including Nordschleife, just not the GP tracks :(

Plato, you should definitely run, even if your results aren't as good as usual, you'll never get good at this track if you don't practice it.;) I got two division wins at Monaco and then Eiger and I had always been rubbish at those tracks, it's only because I spent hours on each that I became decent at them and in the case of Monaco I really enjoy that track now, all thanks to the WRS.đź‘Ť

Anyway, I have some new splits.

36.341
23.989

It's only a minor improvement in terms of splits but quite a bit quicker for the lap. I have also been a tength faster in both of those sectors so there is more to come yet.:)

not going to do very well at this track, still getting used to the manual shifting and the slower cars are much easier for that. But I'll give it a whirl anyway.

T1: 37.155
T2: 24.660

We will see what the week brings :sly:

This is why I don't like this track T1 is horrible, expect better from myself, T2 isn't great either. This track will kill me :yuck:

36.476
24.066

sorry if this offends anybody else but I expect better from myself and can't see it getting much better than this for this week. Any other track but here :ouch:

Found that out early on the tight chicane after T2. For that it's better to cut the first left turn as much as possible so you just graze the rumble strips on the right as you exit (full throttle).

As for that Righty before T1, I may have to get creative and try and use just the shift from 2nd to 3rd as my only means of slowing down for that turn. This is where I miss my DS3  I know I 'd have no problem doing it with that, haha.

Enjoying the punishment for myself :sly:

36.452 :ouch:
23.789

I will get there in the end, I normally do.
Watch this space :sly:

Went way to deep into turn 1, so there is a couple of tenths there. Still no clue how to do turn 2 :banghead:
