I sent the qualifier to Vaxen.
This is my first WRS and I will give the best:crazy:

I will give this a proper run tomorrow, have seen good splits in T1 think it may have been luck though :sly:

Never understood T1 but I am determined to make it understand me tomorrow

I am curious if this is considered a red flag considering that this section wasn't mentioned in the OP. This picture is taken at the chicane before the final turn. Admins, thoughts?

The picture is clean.

I did mention in the OP that only Tarmac and Red and White Rumbles are track, and that no other surfaces are track. So if you ended up with 3 wheels on the green stuff, I would have to DQ you. But I'm not sure if that's even possible, without either hitting the blocks or rolling the car onto the roof. ;)

Help :dunce: This my first week and I'm having trouble getting the best lap saved. I use the "save ghost" (fast lap) and it saves it with the correct time in the title and says "best lap"; but when I try to play it in replay theatre, it plays like a regular save with all the laps I've ran.

Any help will be appreciated. :)

BTW: did I mention that I hate this track

With Kevin's approval, here is my current splits. I didn't think I could make this time, but I am very happy so far. I am busy for the rest of the week, so this might be my final time.

T1: 36.724
T2: 24.146

Starting to figure out the first sector a little bit better. Like this circuit the more I drive it!

T1: 37.084
T2: 24.642

Updated splits. The more I drive this car, the more I love it. :D

36.278
24.131

Still need to figure out that second sector.

First splits after 20 laps, struggling to keep TCS to zero and wondering what to do about the brake settings ...

38.299
25.118

Obviously loosing tons of time in the first sector :(

EDIT deleted Lyvan's splits from the board for obvious reasons.

Second session...

T1: 35.717
T2: 23.453

There's still room for improvement, lost 0.3+ in the last corner alone, damn cone!! :grumpy: 👎

A blown first turn, but the rest of the lap wasn't too bad.

T1: 36.250
T2: 23.683

Right then, I am seriously struggling with T1, no matter what I try, the first corner just kills me.

What is the best line for the first corner?

I have tried staying out wide, and running wide through it. Keeping it in tight all the way round. Tight -> outside. Outside -> tight. Nothing seems to work for me. :dunce:

I know that the next 3 corners all hugely benefit from a late apex, and got these pretty nice, just the very first one!!

Thanks for your help in advance 👍

I brake and stay wide, looking for a fairly late apex in order to get over to the right side for the next set of turns. If you try to take an early apex you usually end up getting no speed to the next turn - also the inside of turn 1 on an early apex is just a bad place, it's all lumpy and undulating and bleurgh.

I take turn 1 in 2nd or 3rd gear fairly arbitrarily - if you do not quite get the turn right, 3rd gear helps to stop massive oversteer/sliding. All 4 wheels must stay on the track for turn 1, no curb, no air, the undulating nature of it and split second loss of grip ruins the entire sector and renders it unrecoverable.

With the exception of the chicane, I tend to avoid all the curbs round here. They're bad news!

First try at this, very fun track and car combo!

T1: 36.536
T2: 23.890

Anyone have any tips for improving times? I think most of my time will be made up with a better brake balance, running F: 3 R: 7

A slight improvement

36.245
23.921

Been faster in both these sectors, not that happy with this but i'm getting there :D

I take it everyone is trying to run there best lap on lap 1 because of the stupid cone right in the driving line for the last turn

If I'm behind my ghost at that point I aim for it and knock it off. Does it show up on the replay though?

I don't think it does, why I didn't think to knock it out the way I will never know :dunce:

New splits

36.095
23.855

was over half a second up on my ghost until the dreaded cone ruined it and only beat my lap by half a tenth :grumpy:

I'm using default brake settings and they work fine.

I think the whole first sector is about maintaining line, and not over driving any one particular corner. The first and the last corners of the sector are obviously the most important.

For the first turn, I'm staying in 5th on the main straight, and the car normally hits the limiter at about the same time as the front of the car comes to the rumble strip on the left side of the track. I don't touch that rumble strip, but I do use it as a braking marker. Down to second gear, and around the corner. I'm probably using more of an early apex line, where the natural slope of the track brings me toward the apex at the braking point. Again, I don't touch the curb on the inside, it's bad news. But you can come close to it without issue. I've had success with many different lines, to me the key is to key the car rotated quickly, and get the power back down smoothly and quickly, without a lot of wheel spin. I've finished the corner on either side of the track and still am able to get a good time for the sector in total.

I take it everyone is trying to run there best lap on lap 1 because of the stupid cone right in the driving line for the last turn

That cone is not going to show up on a best lap replay, and even if it did, we're not going to DQ you for hitting a displaced cone that's in the middle of the track. It's the cones that denote boundaries we're concerned about.
